  1. This one is a boat. With s13 suspension in it it would be nice - it actually feels good and I can see it being a rewarding car with some good suspension. Unfortunately I'm giving up. I'll probably buy another car in the next 5 years but for now it'll be staying stock. I'll be selling up my parts over the next couple of weeks - which is a pity cos I had the majority of bits to make the r31 a fun drifting package :\
  2. Didn't realise it had been mentioned - sorry! About the silver cans I can't say I've seen them in Japan either and you're right they're Canadian. They were at one point 'bottled' in Japan tho (perhaps only in Japanese restaurants because now that I think about it that's where I've had the J-ones ...) lion nathan/carlton/whatever-aussie-beer-maker
  3. Assuming you've considered if you can live with a type R integra or civic type r, clio club sport or other such car and decided no, then you have to consider if you're willing to do a non-turbo car. There's a certain feel a FR layout car gives.. Part of that is, in my opinion, the handling, and such my preference is towards rewarding cars in the handling department. So I'd be looking at s13, ae85/86 or something similar that responds well to chassis tuning. Good luck.
  4. Just remember to check the label if you want to be getting Japanese beer. If you get Kirin or Asahi in Sydney chances are they're not brewed in Japan. One is made by Carlton the other is in Canada or Thailand or something and no it doesn't taste the same as the stuff in Japan. Sapporo in the bottle is also not brewed in Japan. If you have the money (and I mean stupid bling) get the Sapporo silver can. It's like $8/each. I get one or two occasionally when I feel sentimental and rich. That's my favourite anyhoo...
  5. Makoto just off Pitt St -nicish mid range priced food. Zushi is the best sushi I've had in Sydney (I was born in Japan so get there if you like sushi)... it's a train type thing but high quality. Off Pitt/George Street near Chinatown (down the road from Gas and opposite the <something> theatre). Teppenyaki joint opposite The Oaks in Neutral Bay is open late - decent food - not the best but to be open till 2-3am is a bonus. Teppanyaki joint in Hosking Place between Pitt St and Castlereigh (i thinkit's castlereigh). Can't remember the name. Exxy but good if you have a lot of people. Makoto in Chatswood is good mid range sushi train joint. Fuuki is a nice little atmosphere joint in Crows Nest. There's a nice place at the bottom of BT tower in the CBD (off market street). Can't remember the name. hmm can't think of any more now
  6. I'm broke. Priorities = pay debts then saving to travel... So I'll be driving a stock r31 for a while. I don't think I'll even be doing the suspension/wheels (which in a stock r31 sucks the ass).
  7. I'm selling my Focal K2Ps incidentally.. PM if you're interested
  8. Sigh .. social networking and SAU... never thought I'd see the day.
  9. Nathan at Annandale Autos/Grey Imports.
  10. $250 Priced to sell. Not negotiable. These aren't nonames they're a very reputable Korean brand in 6000k. This works with no glaring and very little hotpots with s13/r32/a31 type projectors. H3C is a common bulb fitment found in r32s and a31s. Please check yours before buying. Basically if you read up my posts on HID you will see I'm quite particular about these things - they will make you happy. They have a 3000hr life (supposedly) out of which I would have had 6 months use.. so max 500hrs? Can help you fit them for free. Same as those used with http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...showtopic=75649 Pickup from Sydney .. 5 mins from CBD. Available now. 0410 532 548 - TEXTS WILL NOT BE ANSWERED. I have freaking RSI so please call me - Tom.
  11. Thank you Adam and SydneyKid. I've just sent off my court election and will be following up with the Police Officer. I'm wondering if it's okay to say I thought it was orange - will that mean they will charge me with that? or do I just say "I did not go through the red". Essentially - I'm 100% sure I didn't go through the red. I don't usually aim at oranges but I had the shits and it was empty road etc etc.. bad judgement yes, guilty of the offence no. Obviously if they show me a tape they had running in their car of me doing it I will honestly accept that my memory was WRONG. The only reason I think they may have had it on was because they then followed me for about 5 minutes afterwards with the camera on taping my car (I assume that's what the little red light means).... Will update further.
  12. Thanks for the post Duncan they were exactly what I was after. I probably won't be needing it anymore and the next car will get the straps it deserves
  13. I like this seat, wasn't going to sell it, it's seen better days but is priced accordingly. Has the usual holes that need to be patched. I was going to re-sponge it myself before going into my next car.. Pickup from Sydney .. 5 mins from CBD. If you want them this weekend then please call me on Friday (today) or otherwise I'll be picking them up from storage OVER the weekend. Comes with original Bride rail to suit r32/r33/a31 (and whatever else has those patterns) 0410 532 548 - TEXTS WILL NOT BE ANSWERED. I have freaking RSI so please call me - Tom. If they're not ergo please post up what they are. edit: PRICE DROP $350 I NEED THE CASH
  14. I reckon stereo is fine. Just skip lunch and lose the sub. I wanted to always drift with the stereo on but the car was too loud, even with a sub in the boot lol
  15. I have always liked and used the blitz boost controllers. I think a lot of people will agree they're one of the best. I think between the greddy profec or the HKS evc it's just a matter of personal preference as they'll all do a good job. I have the predecessor to the blitz DSBC dual stage solenoid for sale if you want (Sydney). PM me
  16. I offer $1000.... did your mate end up selling that car with the bent chassis?
  17. Back to stock with a 15yr+ r32 is going backwards. Uras won't look good without a full kit atleast and with wheels potentially. GTR front for OEM'ish goodness I reckon (doubly so considering what you have)
  18. lol while I agree with the experiences of the above posters, I think there are plenty of abused track cars out there. So my advice is to treat it like any other car and check it over with a fine coomb!
  19. Thanks blackrex. I would do it myself but I don't trust my welding skills vs the possibility of a flying ropehook... and I don't own a welder, have a garage or the material itself.
  20. Anyone know where to get racing hooks? http://www.jdm-per4mance.com/product_info....products_id/239 like those. Oh and CAMS sticker packs?
  21. Rezz and everyone else are right in Japan this would be just silly whiteboys and silly arabs doing silly things. Being fair the scathing said 'should' which is a fair point we don't need more posts saying it's not reality Really, I lolled when I saw this- I think this is a great example of something that far outweighs even the free speech argument. This just goes to prove that you can always laugh at a concept. Public discourse at the start of the 21st century needs more of this concept.
  22. This isn't an AE86. It's an AE80.
  23. Welcome to SAU. To get the most out of your experience please don't use different text - it's hard to read. Also starting more than one thread won't get you help either. Now.. if your mechanic can't find valves or head gaskets I'd say get a new mechanic because either they don't care about you and don't want the trouble of you as a customer, or they just have no idea about Skylines (and maybe don't know Nissan exists?). Good luck
