  1. Ahh the benefit of proxied hindsight. Let me give you my story of why I didn't get insurance on my cefiro. Agreed value of $15k (couldn't replace it with that anyway) $2800 for the year. $1000 excess $600 age excess $1400 driver excess $400 stereo excess $600 wheel excess $1000 theft/fire/non nominated party damage excess so.. about $7k if the car was stolen in the first year and the thieves decided that uninstalling the stereo and removing the wheels and leaving them wasn't something they'd like to do. I owned the car for 2-3years and it wasn't stolen. So really, speaking strictly in a risk mitigation sense I saved $7000 worth of risk exposure in the third year. Yes I realise this is bodgy accounting but insurance just isn't practical for some people and they make a calculated risk. So assuming people have thought about it and taken the risk when they luck out it's not really "nice", even though it might be true to give them vicarious hindsight.. I'm sure they're already thinking about how nice it would have been to have insurance, or not crash the car. If it was me I'd be taking out $15,000 worth of sex on my gf on top of anything I'm already getting/giving So... .. my advice here is to setup hand signals or code words which mean anything from "get busy" to "bend over" .. it'll make you both feel better!!
  2. Not sure on brakes but all ceffies were 4 stud. The run of the mill ceffies didn't have the 4 pots you find on r32/33's.
  3. Tesla + ebay electronic BOV = sick
  4. owned heh
  5. Can I ask for the brief ahead of time? I want to get my footage from being pulled over that night. Want to see it before electing to go to court.

  7. Nice nice... ... . white.. four door.. little weather shields.. Nissan.. turbo... .. I'm so lonely.
  8. I got a blue one. Just lemme know when and your offer..
  9. Thanks guys - good advice. I have it all together now. I was just going to go down to the station the dude was from and ask for more info but I wasn't sure if I had to do it through other means. Now that you said to I will. .. I guess I'll ask for the video footage too. I spose I'd better write out a letter to hand deliver saying what I'm going to say in person just for the record. Cool-as. Just out of interest do you have to submit documents to court prior to going? And I'm assuming you have your say after the prosecuter right?
  10. What sambo said. To clarify - if the engine was done in Japan and complianced with that engine then you have no problem. If it was changed in Aus you'll need a plate.
  11. Rookie mistake (edit: but it sucks )
  12. Thanks for the posts. siks - I'm trying to find exactly what the charge is for offence code "2879" but as far as I know there's nowhere I can find it. The police info line said call infringements, I said they were disbanded they put me on hold then dropped my call. Richard - it was an infringement notice that shouldn't have been given. It'll be the 2nd I've ever received one that shouldn't have been issued and the first one I was too scared to go to court. Not this time. I'd rather take a couple of days off and risk the $65. Michael - I'll be representing myself. Just need to know what to say/strategy. I figure I will be saying that I didn't deem it safe to stop in the circumstances when it went yellow and I definately didn't cross the line when the light was red. The officer AV recorded me being pulled over. I want to know if they have footage of my car during the alleged time I was meant to have crossed the line. I need to know if I wait till the court appearance to request that or if I should be requesting it to the police service now... or do I elect to go to court, then wait for the police prosecutor to get the brief, then get it from there? Confused.
  13. Looking at some of the rates it's easy to see it's silly to spend $2k on a lawyer to defend a $300 fine. So - does anyone know of resources and procedures I can use or research to represent myself? edit: somewhere that has the offence codes listed to the legislation that applies to it would be nice. f**k I swear this government has made it you can't do anything yourself.
  14. Basically I didn't want to get into the specifics and enter them into the court of public opinion but the bottom line is I didn't have a choice and the copper had issued the fine by the time I could say anything. siksII thanks - the introduction scares me already, I think I'll keep that one when I get caught in my lambo
  15. Just came back from dropping my bro home in my barina. Went through an orange light with lots of people around and in the way etc (i.e. couldn't really stop and still went through safely). I got a ticket for $308, 3 points for "Not stop at stop line at red light". I've had a bad driving record before and it's been about 3-4 years since I've had a ticket. I've tried really really hard to keep my driving record clean and to get this sucks.. so going to court to fight it and need to a recommendation for a traffic lawyer (and also how much you were charged).
  16. You shouldn't need a mod plate if it has been complied and stock. But that's kinda how it was for me in NSW, the mod plate equivalent here is the engineers report. Basically you can choose to get it if you want less hassles later but it's more of a car modification thing than it is for strictly for imported cars.
  17. Do you have pictures of it drifting? It looks out of place being so clean in a car park having glamour shots taken of it
  18. I've had some bad bad stories from 1st hand victims that I trust. I've also had some dealings with their yard but when their employee says that the car "smokes it up even when cold.. see that roundabout?" after saying something about "i just wind that thing to get more boost" - it kind of makes you not want to buy the car. On the other hand my mate bought a car there and it was fine.. that was long long ago. I think they've changed a bit since they had their car yard near Manly.
  19. Damnit. I'd be in if I had a car worth taking. The stock r31 just won't go, brake or turn.
  20. Hey Richard - ever seen a Chubb in action? I've had 2 el cheapo POS super-cheap-auto-co fail on me when my car was on fire. It was luck it didn't go up. I bought a Chubb after that thinking ahh it's a good name in fire safety and it's got the "CAMS Approved" logo on the side inviting those who are after a 1kg extinguisher for motorsports applications. But that's a pretty high call so it might mean I get the BFI for next time... just thought I'd probe it some more. p.s. is it this one - http://bulbeck.com.au/products.php?action=...p;id=68&c=8 ?
  21. Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Thank you. So basically my question is moot - because track is the same so long as the wheel hubs are in the same spot. The offset doesn't affect track. So, in that case; I should use the SAME sized spacers all round so track is preserved evenly? Or is there a handling benefit of tweaking it?
  22. Xtreme clutches are good value imo.. had the dampened centre 9 puk with 860kg pressure plate. Was fan-bloody-tastic (just under 200rwkw at the wheels). It'd only slip on dumps at peak torque/power.... just what you want in most cars.
  23. Shit yeah. I was slightly becoming scared that I was stuck for good. Thanks very much for your help guys. Will give him a ring and Mark I will take you up on that sometime down the line I'm sure. I haven't been having the easiest time recently so you geezers have made this puppy a little happier ... thanks!
