I'm so glad SAU is back. Holy shit Prank that's puny! (no offense but objectively speaking). Is it a matter of bandwidth or just server crunching? It's running both the PHP+Web services PLUS the DB? If so and you run some sorta performance monitor on it can you tell us what the bottleneck is? I mean, badly formed queries aside if it's a hardware thing perhaps we (forum users+members) can all chuck in for another gig of ram or faster HDD surely?

EOI : PIMPIN Ceffy
someonestolecc replied to G0DF4Th3R's topic in For Sale (Private Whole cars only)
Looks sweet. But you're selling without wheels, suspension and seats? .... That would be a different car hehe. Consider price drop without all that stuff? that price should be WITH that stuff then it'd be PIMPIN (*bump*) -
Hello, I'm putting together my system for my car. I have a nice HU, nice fronts, nice amp to run the fronts and rears - I don't want to buy any rears for now (and probably for a long time). I currently have 2 choices for rear fill- 1. (imo crappy) kenwood 6x9's with the tweaters in them CUT (one of them is blown so i cut them both- suprisingly they dont sound much different). I think they're rated at 100wrms or 200 there abouts. 2. phillips 6.5" splits woofers BUT one split is missing (it was actually crushed between the a piller and driverside dash when i wrote off a car). They're rated at 75w i think. They're not bad but they were $170 at strathies so they can't be that good. Which would be better as rear fill? I'd either be running them from the 4x60wrms pioneer amp.. OR depending if this sounds better i might just use 140x2 from the same amp for the front splits (because they're actually good speakers) and then run the rear fill from the deck. Any suggestions? (on amp setup channeling or which speaker to choose) This would be either r32 or r33. Right now r33 is looking likely. Thanks!

Gday, I'd like to get some stuff from Japan that's impossible to get in Australia. My trip there isn't looking likely (new job and no money) however I have relatives that will send me some packages. Unfortunately they're not car enthusiasts and wouldn't know where to get them from. My question is if I wanted to get some general little accessories ie. drift neko stickers (the punched out cat), Impul pedals (like on their website) and little things like that so they can put them into a package and send em over - where should I tell them to look? Surely there are drift shops around? Any place around Yokohama or someplace that delivers would be helpful! Last time I was in japan drift was just taking off and i didn't have a chance to see any garages Thanks guys!

r33 median sales prices
someonestolecc replied to someonestolecc's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
A shameless plug Mi I like it Thanks for the info that sounds about right - whats the deal with the winding back tho? Surely it's not ALL wound back? I guess a 50k example might be questionable (especially if the current owner has unplugged the dash clicker over thing) but still not ALL? Unfortunately I've first hand known and heard of excellent ones being sold at $15k and total bombs sold at $19k .. its a bit dodgey if you ask me. Especially since r32 prices are in the SAME PRICERANGE!! <<< this shits me the most since I like the r32 but r33s are in most cases cheaper (if you consider they are newer etc). I guess the moral of the story is if you wait long enough you can luck onto something - thanks mate appreciate that (... i will check out your ad now altho i prolly seen it already). -
Gday, Just wondering if theres anywhere I can find how much r33s are changing hands for at the moment or what is a fair price to buy/sell? Particularly interested in r33's as below. ie. 1995ish 50k clean stock ie. 1996ish 70k clean light mods (air, muffler, wheels) Redbook and NRMA don't seem to have r33s and I see a variety of sales for perfectly good r33s between 15k-20k. Whats the deal? I don't want to pay too much I don't want to rip anyone off. Thanks.

Nissan FAST software on FTP/HTTP
someonestolecc replied to someonestolecc's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Gday funkymonkey. Couldn't find a link to a .ru.. all the threads have bittorrents. Does anyone have a FAST software with database after 1995? That's the car I'm trying to run (1995) to find out what it's specs are. Specifically if it's genuine m spec. Could someone run one after 1995 for me ? (I don't want to post the details here because it's not my car at the moment..) Thanks. -
Gday, Does anyone have the Nissan FAST software for r32/33 ? I would appreciate greatly if I could download this from someone on FTP/HTTP. I realise there is a link for bittorrent somewhere but would like FTP/HTTP if at all possible. PM or post if possible puh-leese. Thanks.

I don't think it will work simply because there won't be GPS maps for australia on them. GPS systems in cars work by getting your position and overlaying a map on them. Now I don't think that there would be an Aussie map with Aussie streets on it for a Japanese domestic stock car GPS system. If you do get one please let us know - GPS systems are cheap over tehre and I'd love to get one even if it spoke in Japanese etc but I've never been able to because noone has maps of Australia for them. Also if it has no screen... well... hmm I don't like your chances. Good luck tho!

I'm buying a skyline in the next few months (hopefully next few months but it may turn to longer if i cant find one!)... and I've had the same dilemma. I've picked the r32. Simply because it looks better and is lighter. With a rb25det in it then she will surely fly - however I really REALLY dislike the r33s bulbous look. It's just ... too round to look aggressive, the r32 has more proportion. Sure you can kit it, but the 33 is a bit of a sperm whale lookin thing.. whereas the 32 is a bit more of a killer whale As for Waz's and Lithium's points I think they're spot on too. It needs to work harder, it's older but it looks better and weighs less. Personal preference all of them - I know which one I lean towards.

Does that mean if I have aftermarket rims my spare has to be similar spec to the fitted rims? It doesn't seem to specify that they should be similar spec to the factory designed spec. Also - it's funny how one person gets a bum deal (which correctly, they should be protected) however automatically an import issue. Why isn't it a dodgey business issue? Why isn't it a dodgey car issue? As for blue lights ... I agree - I agree that most people are stupid and it takes them a full second to see the different between a honda civic with a couple of blue leds and a police car with actual sirens and lights... therefor we shouldn't have blue lights on cars! Informative post.. I like to read it but pity we can't do anything about it..

rofl rb25. I didn't realise there were any laws but in theory I guess you could a. pretend its a non turbz. b. pay engineer for a restrictor of some sort to limit the power and get it certified. God knows how you'd get option b working - ask the RTA or whoever that is in your state. Also look into getting a residential address in NSW and getting a NSW license. This would only work if the law is that noone licensed in VIC etc... whereas if it's just a law in regards to license classes then .... *shrug* I'm glad I'm not on my p's .... HAHAHAHAHAHAHA ... ok sorry i do feel ur pain...

Which 6.5" Splits to buy?
someonestolecc replied to someonestolecc's topic in Car Audio & Electrical
Thanks for the advice! I dig man - I indend of shortlisting a few speakers so I can audition them then make up my mind. I asked cos I wanted to know if there were any particular quality issues, value on prices etc all those sorts of decision making input you don't get if you just walk into strathos and ask them for a fully sick xplod speaker On the other it's exactly right.. my ears, my cars, my money and therefor I'm not going to buy speakers PURELY on someone's recommendation. Go any recommendations on stores that carry all quality speakers mentioned in this post? I will prolly be looking this weekend. -

GTiR - regretful sale
someonestolecc replied to jams_82's topic in For Sale (Private Whole cars only)
.... I could just as easily buy a GTiR, same as I'd buy a 180sx... Skylines is what I'm concentrating on. Customer service 101 = never assume. -
Reconditioning a rb20det
someonestolecc replied to someonestolecc's topic in General Automotive Discussion
$800 with warrenty?!!? are you serious!? Deear god man! That's certainly a good story. Mind you one of the cars I'm looking at have FMIC - I wouldn't be able to tell if they've been boosted but I guess if they're import then the seller in Japan would have never bothered taken out the booster would they. Hmm innnnnteresting. -
Getting small things from Japan
someonestolecc replied to someonestolecc's topic in General Automotive Discussion
head units = got one plus the FM is weirded figurines = what the?!? (why hehe!?) cels = what are they? magazines = any particular ones? (i can't read japanese at all) Will checkout rinkya thanks - reason I ask is cos I know people who can send me normal packages so since impul pedals leave part of the box empty i thought HMM what else other than pietro sauce can i get? -
Hello, What would guys get from Japan if they were able to get stuff shipped over in normal post? (Therefore bodykits, manifolds, clutch kits are out.) Right now I'm looking at Impul pedals - which I haven't been able to find in Aus. Obviously stuff like Apexi PFC are just as easy to get from Nengun, but again... what would be cool to get? (r32). Ta.

GTiR - regretful sale
someonestolecc replied to jams_82's topic in For Sale (Private Whole cars only)
I recommend putting a price on for two reasons. 1. noone will look and offer a price you're going to consider reasonable if you don't put up a price 2. rules of the for sale section I'm currently looking for a skyline. If it's a great looking GTiR I'd consider it so I guess technically I'm not "genuinely" interested. Thanks for your time. -
fair bit of results with "pressure plate" of "clutch". no dramas.

someonestolecc replied to someonestolecc's topic in Car Audio & Electrical
You run them from the deck? whowa.. hehe. -
Does Garage Impul make manuals? I'd like to know what r32r's are apart from the obvious bodykit, exhaust and sway bar.

r32 gtst - just bought one.
someonestolecc replied to yz125-99's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
If it's your first car I wouldn't put a bigger turbo on. Turbz lag has an unfortunate habit of kicking in around a corner when people don't expect them... to anyone let alone first drivers. I don't want to sound patronising. I've owned a few cars, even a v8 there but never a turbz so I wouldn't even trust myself with a fat turbz. Personally I will be upgrading the brakes so I can do some track work to learn the car. I'd also probably look at a whiteline kit for suspension. http://www.whiteline.com.au/docs/fact_shee...line_R32GTS.PDF One of the first things I'll be doing with my r32. Oh. and also I'd make myself an account and possibly join the club As for the other questions someone else will have to answer you I'm not too sure - I'd expect about 200-250kw? I'd seriously wait for later though. First cars and skylines = I'm scared.
