  1. I've seen it on commies. It looks like shite.... absolutely shite.. On the bright side - it makes me cack everytime so when I'm having a hard day and I see some pumped up geezer in a commie trying to look hard cos he bought the lights I jsut can't help but feel better bout myself. *glow*
  2. Just out of interest - if I'm buying a r32 that is 15yrs old and doesn't need compliance, should I buy it now before they change the scheme, or should I wait till they do? I'm not sure about what could happen, anyone spell it out sif I was 10 years old? ;P
  3. You guys sound like starting a vigilante witchhunt heh.
  4. Airbag suspension is actual airbags that blow up and deflate - mostly for the purpose of making lowriders. Kind of like the poor man's hyrdraulics. You see them occasionally on hilux' and stuff..
  5. Ahh thanks. My friend is having trouble finding one for a GTiR Pulsar that's all.
  6. Shit yeah thats the response and answers I was hoping/expecting! You guys all are great for answering!! I'm glad because sometimes the price is too good it aint good but this time obviously it is a freal business and I'm glad! Please accept my apologies if the owner or friends of the owner reads this I didn't wanna sound too suspicious but its a bit of money cos I'm expecting to drop a few g's. I'm noway a big spender but thats exactly it. I think I'm gonna order 2 PFC - one for my friend's GTiR. Do they have different ones for different models ? IE are the looms different perhaps or are they one size fits all pretty much? Thanks again guys I'm glad theres mad reputable dealers!
  7. Good question zer0. I've been looking that up also and you could prolly find some info on the CAMS website but they just seem to refer you to your car club (which I'll be joining this as soon as I get my skyline). There is an application form and all the levels they have and what they allow you to do. I think drift is considered a sub-derivative of motorkhana (whatever that is) but don't quote me on that. The link specifically I think may be the most help to you is- http://www.cams.com.au/content.asp?PageID=Competitors Let me know what else you dig up! I'm keen to know myself.
  8. Iwells - I will be trying to get a L2NS CAMS license ( i think its that ). Does that mean I need to have seats approved by them to go on the track in the timed events? I thought people could go on those runs with stockos? Dave - ouchhhhh we talkin over a grand?
  9. Hello I am a newb. I know I'm probably asking about a reputable person and reputable store with a reputable record. But I just need to be sure before xferring k's of $ overseas Anyone dealt with this person/shop ? Can anyone confirm you don't need to pay customs for a Apexi PFC ? Thanks guys, and yeah. please don't flame me I just need to be sure to stop my anxiety attacks
  10. Hey guys, I've always leant towards the whole Whiteline kit for some reason - has anyone here had or driven in a Kings/Bilstein comparable setup to a Whiteline setup? Whiteline kit comes with Konis doesn't it ? Would there be any major difference? I understand it's all subjective but what would the objective/technical difference be? Also is there a difference between coilovers and shocks and springs? Is the coilover just the shock-n-spring in one unit and the shocks and springs are seperate? What is the difference in handling and application advantages/disadvantages? _newb_
  11. Hello guys, Does anyone know where I can get me some racing seats? I'm particularly after some Brides - nowhere searching on the net seems to sell em in Aus. Will I have to get some on the next trip to Japan or is it likely places like JustJap will have them sometimes? What does everyone else run with? I won't need the ones that go flip as it will be for a 4 door gtst .. Will consider 2nd hand!
  12. Sorry to hear that Vis. Zagan - I think he was referring to a fixed installation. Those particular ones only get set off by three pressure/electromagnetic (I dono which) strips in the road. I think the gov has too much of a cash cow to do the whole UK thing. In the U.S. I've seen just SUV/vans with a whole setup in them they just park anywhere and leave unattended. I swear you couldn't do that in Sydney some places it'd just get broken into and destroyed hehe "I WILL DESTROY YOU!" - Morbo.
  13. Viscount - they only take the same way unless they've invented a new camera. You can take my word on that (then multiply it every time I drive past one). I wouldn't worry about it at all. As for the wheels look on the bright side you have some for backup pair for drifting The girls - was that the one in the manly daily? It's always a pity to hear things like that. If you're around mosman that's where they were from no? A friend of mine knew them i believe : City carparks suck - especially when they make you leave your car I always think to myself these minimum wage mofos don't have a clue about the clutch or something bad. When I had my XW they told me they wouldnt park it. I said damn straight not with teh shift kit
  14. Ahh - I see. Thanks for the explanation that makes perfect sense. So in theory if I'm chasing ..200-250kw and say a torquey skyline with not too many KW (I will be sticking with stock turbz for long time) then just get a more efficient dump pipe -=> high flow cat -=> cat back exhaust. I get it - that's a great explanation and it's explained a great deal that I've been wondering about for a long time. Guess thats what happens when you own NA v8's and NA 1.3's hehe Around what kw would you have to be making before the factory dump pipe became restrictive?
  15. Hello, I've been asking a lotta questions recently because I'm closer to getting my first liner. Gone through a french car, a big v8, a barina and to own my first turbz is a fun - so I'm thinking realistically of mods. Everyone seems to have a cat back, or be selling a cat back, or buying a cat back. My question is - Does this mean the standard extractors are that good, or is it just that a good set costs a helluva lot? I'm wondering should I get the full length exhaust or if cat back is ok. Thanks for all your responses guys this is definately a strong forum/club.
  16. Thanks guys - So I take it the extractors are no point? Or would I be doing bad by shielding the heat IN the extractors (ie hurting the extractors or even radiating heat back into the engine?)
  17. Hello, I'm finally looking at doing some mods to my car - but since the smallest things are difficult for me (im not a mechie) I thought I'd try some heatshielding. Does anyone know which bits are the best to heatshield? I know some are not good to heatshield as you don't want the heat to stay IN as much as you want it to dissipate. Any ideas/setups/photos and general info would be greatly appreciated
  18. I never had a nissan reco'ed but when I had my gearbox for my XW GT reco'ed it uhm it came back with crazy wirrinng noises that sounded awesome. It really kicked it hard. I think you should get a second opinion (ie another mechanic?) Also it'd be interesting to know what causes your problems? Are you still getting the whining, syncros bodgy etc? Anyways - my opinion reco gearbox from a crap one should own. But then again that was with a ford gearbox. I don't know bout nissans.
  19. Thanks very much that site looks great - just a quick question though wheres the HCR fit into this: http://english.auto.vl.ru/catalog/nissan/skyline/ ? I'm still a bit confused with the model numbers there heh heh. What are the changes between the model numbers there? heh roughly that is? Thanks again
  20. That's great - thanks for the response. So basically the consensus is the driveline etc is all the same? (Just confirming). Also - was looking at buying an auto because a manual 4 door is hard to find. Does anyone know of any dramas with that ? Other than making room/drilling to add the clutch is everything else bolt in? I mean if getting a gearbox that was in a r32 stock coupe to put in a stock 4door? PS LOVED THOSE PICS.. OWN! thanks again for the specs - I'm suprised its less than 100kg !
  21. Hello, I'm thinking of buying a Skyline. I've owned a few cars before and I like driving enthusiastically (read: track for fun on the weekends). I have been stuck on R32's for a while and was looking at a 4 door for insurance and space purposes (I'd like to fit a couple of BMXs in the back and still have room for subs and a mate). My question is - are there any specific issues downsides or advantages that anyone might see with a 4 door r32 over a coupe? I mean what parts can you assume to be able to use the same as a r32 couple and which parts are specific to the 4 door? Are parts easy to get? How much heavier is the 4 door? Anyone use them for drift? Basically to give an idea of what i'd be doing with this car is probably the following (in no particular order)- suspension - coilovers, swaybars, struts usual stuff. soft engine/breathing mods - exhaust, muffler, hiflow cat, air filter I would also like to put in some mild cams later down the track when I can afford a computer as I'm interested in torque more than just boosting and intercooler for KW. Final question - are the stock exhausts any good? A lot of people get from cat back and say it makes a lot of difference, or is it worth getting extractors as well? (if i did get them it would prolly be in one go). Lotta questions - any help is appreciated. THANKS!!
  22. mate is buying a gtst r32, got quoted 4500 for insuring to 11.5k (buying it for 16k) by just cars. famous did it for 2500. what value would famous insure the car to? wonder how many other insurance companies are underwritten from guernsey ???
  23. Boostmaster could you please post a pic of the cat? (other than the one on your dent hehe) If anything I'd like to see how it looks big because im considering getting a big white one.. would you be able to make the outlines white and the actual sticker clear for my drifting barina ?
