  1. any model that's built in 1988 or earlier is allowed to be imported without restriction. so yeah, pre 88 (and 88 model) fusions will be importable and registerable. the only other scooter option you should look at though is the Honda Spacy. Nothing beats a spacy. yeah baby!
  2. you want a scooter and don't have much money. my advice is forget importing. all the little costs add up and make it completely not viable for a 1 off thing. if you want to import say 10 and fill a container THEN it's worthwhile. but back to the probrem. I have a solution. you have not much money. you want scooter with good storage. you want scooter that is fun to ride and a bit different. you need a Yamaha BeeWee YW100. they are 100cc 2 stroke. They have good storage. They are nice and light and the 100cc 2 stroke is a great engine. They will do over 100km/h even with a 100kg rider on it. They are very light (less than 100kg) so easy to throw around and good on fuel. Yes they are 2 stroke but have oil injection so no need to mix fuel. just fill up the oil tank every now and then, and when you need fuel just fill up like normal. the best part for you is they can be bought brand new from a dealer for $3500 including all on road costs so if you have $3500 you can buy one and ride it out with rego and CTP no prob. They are japanese and as reliable as can be. If you are nuts there are lots of mods for them. Stroker kit (few hundred), exhaust (couple hundred), different bits and pieces to make them go. Plus they sound and look good. sound much nicer than your average POS 4 stroke scoot. this could be you! http://p1.bikepics.com/pics/2008%5C02%5C16...185397-full.jpg http://p1.bikepics.com/pics/2008%5C12%5C22...516163-full.jpg or this: http://p1.bikepics.com/pics/2005\5C12...476472-full.jpg
  3. agreed. I reckon loftus in his starlet would be pretty hard to beat in the FWD class or 2L class. coming down the straight it sounds like it's about to suck you into it... definitely gee him up for it dave.
  4. it's probably technically illegal but really ANYTHING non-standard is technically illegal. will you have a problem with it? depends on which state really and who pulls you over. personally I've never had a problem and had lots of cars with them over the years. if you need any help with the import side send me a message. it should be no problem at all to import and register in your state of choice.
  5. keep up the goodness. love the nismo harnesses. I found 1 brand new about 2 years ago and they were rare as fk even back then and I paid a shiatload for it. hate to think what they go for now. especially in a pair with 1 quick release and 1 seat buckle type. glad to see you're still going and still having fun.
  6. did you read the manual? it sounds to me like it's not installed properly. possibly poor ground or power wire not connected properly. http://www.defi-shop.com/product/images/dl...anual06064e.pdf
  7. don't forget we are only talking 20mm per tyre here. so 1cm on either side of each tyre. having said that I guess 40mm of tyre each end, and that means 20mm more track too can't be a bad thing. plus a 285 street tyre will be a good fit on the 10.5inch wheel. it's a lot of extra $ for just a little more tyre but if you think it will help then I say give it a shot.
  8. don't forget to bleed both sides of the caliper either. your old ones only had a bleeder on the outside. the brembos have bleed nipples on the inside and outside. do both.
  9. sickness bro! I was thinking the same thing as johnny, how you going to recline your fat chair with the X in the main hoop!?! lol. did you get brad to make some new seat mounts too so you can mount it nice and low so you don't need to drive with your head out the window? you are a big unit. and yes now I must come give you your diff so you can keep going. cage looks good btw. i likey.
  10. your front upper control arms are definitely still 32 GTR. 33 and 34 GTR front upper control arms look very different. instead of a dog bone shape they are more of a U shape and their two arms of the U mount on the outside of a upper hub mount instead of inside like the 32 ones do. 33 upper control arms (they are aftermarket but you get the idea). the rears are in this pic on the right. where as 32 rear upper control arms encircle the shock and spring so they are sort of an O shape with a single mount point to the upright and to the car. these are 32 rear upper control arms. car looks awesome btw. I imagine it's pretty quick.
  11. nice! love the full race mani's and twin gate set-up. sexual chocolate!
  12. I'm sure it's possible. Maybe talk to some of the places that import a lot of LHD euro and american cars (plenty of those in jp). they should know the japanese law surrounding imports and can probably tell you how to go about it, or recommend some kind of broker/agent to do it for you.
  13. yeah the method dirtgarage described is the only way I've seen it successfully repaired short of just replacing the whole thing (you can still buy new ones from nissan). it takes a bit of care but if done right it works in most cases. make sure you do have a hole in the back as otherwise when you work the bubble down the excess will come out onto the top surface which you don't want.
  14. as far as the insurance implications go I would ring and anonymously ask your insurance company how they see it. maybe it can be noted on the policy that the car doesn't have ABS or some such. not having ABS wont necessarily instantly make it un-roadworthy. it does sound like the company that sold it to you may have glossed over a few things though bit of a shame.
  15. nice gain. that will really wake the thing up. a shit load cheaper than most of the '600hp' tuning packages around too I'll bet. all you need is injectors and pumps and a tune and it's all systems go. I'm guessing cost of the upgrade would be around $3.5K not counting the ongoing fuel costs of course.....
  16. umm I was just responding the the assertion that the R35 GTR has the same prefix as the previous Skyline GTR models. fact is it doesn't. HCR32 and ECR33 are skylines because that's their name. They are called skylines. The R35 is not called a skyline. I wouldn't have thought it a difficult concept to grasp....
  17. can confirm there are some beautiful people down south. osaka is good. and kyushu too is known for it's lovely ladies. funnily enough I have met lots of cool osaka-jin in tokyo when they were up there for a weekend of partying.
  18. it does have a completely different prefix. it's a CBAR35 as opposed to BNR32 BCNR33 BNR34...
  19. agree with that too. juggernaut is on the right track. yes it's good to keep heat in the pipe to keep the energy in there and keep the gas velocity high BUT you also want to allow the gas to expand nice and quickly once it's past the turbo outlet. you need to for POWER!
  20. all I can say is YUMMY! looks great. nice to see someone, somewhere is actually putting money into tracks. not taking it away.
  21. $700 f**k me dead! I thought they were on drugs when I bought one for about $300-$350 at Race and Rally speedsports in greenacre. I think they call themselves speedzone or some such these days. They used to be mainly a big sparco dealer. they were a sparco distributor but something happened a few years back and they stopped selling sparco gear all together which was weird to go from full on sparco dealer with big range to not even carrying anything. but it did mean they had one kick arse clearance sale with everything from seats to suits. they were great, used to be much cheaper than a certain bigger name race gear chain. and they were really nice guys too. I remember going there about 10 years ago as a young bloke without much of a clue and they even gave me a few bits and pieces I needed for nothing. lovely guys. thank me for that touching story later.....
  22. hehe, what did I do...
  23. you should be able to get the flange cut off and weld on a V-band flange to suit a HKS GTII gate. they are very good. come in 50 and 60mm from memory. you'll need a new gate pipe/dump too.
  24. my advice is get the nismo pump. they are direct bolt in and work very well and very reliably. I have not seen one problem or failure of one EVER. I have seen a number of bosch pump failures though and others that did not live up to their flow claims. as best I can tell the nismo/tomei/HKS pumps are all the same so chose which ever one you can get quicker or cheaper. adding a direct feed from battery to the pump (with a relay) is a good idea too. regardless of which pump you get.
