  1. nice mate! you are a brave man to buy fatz's old 31... lol. full credit to keeping it going and tidying the old beast up. I've been in it years ago when fatz first put the XR6 tubz on it with fatz laughing like a giant school girl beside me as he drifted the thing. not the safest feeling in the world!! it's always been a cool car though and with the new full race set-up and the weds it looks shit hot.
  2. nice mate. I still LOVE the side pipe effort. full credit mate, it's an awesome set-up and very practical. no more squashed/bashed/dented/ripped off exhaust pipes for you.
  3. great build mate. the stack dash is money! they are great kit. 1:11s at wakefield is good too mate, very good times.
  4. nice progress mate. yeah the RPF1s are hot. very reminiscent of the wheels enkei make for various F1 teams. I guess that's why they call them RPF1s..... E85 is a great idea. cheap fuel and good power. exactly what you want for a track car.
  5. nice crank trigger pick-up too.
  6. TOPIC APPROVED. can't wait to see more johnny. post up all your crazy idea and plans please!! this car is going to be great. the real question is WHEN DO I GET TO DRIVE IT??? don't be tight john. you know the beer baron can handle the zed. i've been a boat captain for years, started in juniors, lazers, tasers, flying ants and moved up to offshore yacht racing. so I think i'm ready for a bit boat like this one.
  7. well the nismo and trust plenum both have basically the same principal. they have better air distribution (factory plenum send too much air to cyl 5+6 which causes them to run a bit lean). and they are larger volume. larger volume is basically a benefit to on/off/on throttle response. having a larger volume of air in the plenum before the throttles mean when you crack them open there is plenty of pressure and volume there to fill the head. the better design does increase midrange and response a bit. the nismo one I think is a little better in midrange and the trust one a little better in top end. the hypertune one also seems to be a good design. as far as the cheap ones go, personally I'd stay away. they are usually so poorly cast it's a joke. all the copy plenums i've seen were ill-fitting and needed plenty of work to fit nicely. for the effort spent you still have an inferior product and it leeches money off the people who spent the R+D to design the thing. the trust ones are not super expensive. nismo ones are a little more so but not too bad used if you can find one. as far as performance increase don't expect it to do anything magic. i'm running a trust plenum on my 32 with the 2.7 Jun engine and it seems to work fine (with 6 throttle set-up). the car is quite responsive and has great midrange but how much of that is due to the 2.7 and the combo of the cams and 2530s or the tune in the motec or the plenum is anyones guess as the plenum was on it when I bought it.
  8. good luck guys. hope to see godzilla get us aussies in front! but no matter what I'm sure both will put on a good show.
  9. lol! go easy! I am working at it. I haven't even used any of the online hacks that were found, though I know some people who just drove around in circles and racked up a quick 20mil and got to level 40 a spec doing it. apparently there's another one now too. oh, and i messed up, I only have 1 bspec driver, not 2. but yeah, remote race the hell out of me!! I've been doing the ferrari challenge races to try and earn some cash. at 200K per win for about 15min race it's pretty good $/time ratio. though I thought the nurburgring GP track is shit in the F1 car. tokyo 246 is not bad, suzuka is good fun in the F1, indy is a pretty stupid course though easy in the F1 and Eifel is good fun. I actually really enjoy driving the F1. BTW I've added some of my cool cars to share as a thankyou to those kind enough to share their f1 with me. got my GT500 NSX up there, the shelby 427, the stealth mercedes, my Amuse Carbon GTR (RWD), my worked DR30 (great for the 80s jap challenge), put up my Audi R10 LM car too. enjoy
  10. just one small point. SAU started about 9 years ago.
  11. jetwreck, 33 GTR and 34 GTR (regardless of vspec or non vspec) are all 30mm thick rotors. they are all 324mm X 30mm. the only ones that are 32mm are the standard R32 GTR set-up (with sumitomo callipers) that are 296mm X 32mm. the Vspec R32 GTR have the same 324mm X 30mm rotor and the same brembo callipers as the 33/34 GTR do. there isn't a 324mm X 32mm rotor. you probably just remembered your 296mm set-up which would have been 32mm thick, but I promise ALL the 324mm brembo set-ups are a 30mm thick rotor, regardless of aftermarket or standard. it's not a huge deal, but yeah the extra 2mm would be nice for a bit more heat capacity.
  12. yeah I checked about SSS last night. it's true unfortunately. and Geoff was over there at the time. he was lucky to get out when the quake hit but he said the yard is gone.
  13. schweet! I only have 2 drive and he's only level 2 need all the help I can get. happy to repay the favour when I figure out this remote races app thing. also if you have any cars you need to borrow, by all means ask.
  14. yeah not the same guys. SSS in sydney have been supplying bits all over aus since the aus import scene was in it's infancy. as I said Joe imported his R32 GTR back in the 90s and put a 3litre RB26 in it in the 90s too and ran masive tiwn high mount 2835s on it for around 400kw, with 6 speed box, big AP brakes etc and lots of cool touches. I think it had 30,000kms or something on it when he bought it and now has over 200,000. it's a very nice GTR still today.
  15. yeah it's not very common for nuts to fall off. much more common to get snapped studs due to over tightening by clowns.
  16. BTW that stillen site does have the AP CP555 kit with 343mm strap drive rotors but it's $3,600 USD + freight so fairly pricey. could probably match that locally and get 355mm rotors instead of the 343mm ones. and also given that they just say "large 2 piece rotors" I would agree with troy that they are not genuine AP rotors as otherwise they would say so. http://www.stillen.com/product.asp?id=APFRMBRKIT1&c=BR&b=AP%20Racing
  17. try e-machine shop. very good. if you have the cad file they can quote for you.
  18. yeah pistons and seals available from nissan. you can get a rebuild kit which is seals and dust boots pretty cheap. alternatively buy the project mu 32 GTR rebuild kit. it comes with nice alloy pistons which are lighter and a seal kit too. from memory it's around $400 for the full kit (includes 8 pistons). it's good value and will mean your calipers will be like brand new again for $400 and a few hours work.
  19. AD08 are a fantastic street tyre. probably the best. they are a bit pricey though and won't last forever (which is a good thing, long lasting tyres get old and hard before they wear out which is dangerous). the toyo proxes 4 you got are also a very good budget high performance tyre. no as good as the AD08s but still quite good. the 595RSR offer great dry grip and pretty good all round. possibly not as good in the wet as the AD08s or the proxes 4s but still a good tyre. KU36 are quite good too for a cheap tyre. the bridgestone GIIIs are also not a bad road tyre but not sure if they are still around?
  20. for your budget probably the best option is a set of bilstein shocks (with the circlip type height adjustment) and a set of matched springs (eibach most likely). in sydney heasmans would be the place to go and I'm sure they ship to melbourne too. they are a good set-up for the under $2K mark.
  21. yeah agree with 9krpm. 18X10 +18/+20 is about as wide and as small offset as you can go on a 32 GTR without having to do some serious modification. you will still need to lip the guards (at least the rears) and probably need a bit of camber etc to get them to tuck in without bashing your guards.
  22. why the 350Z rotors? 32Vspec/33/34 GTR rotors are 324mm and are available from plenty of manufacturers. the kit from UAS is actually not that bad price wise and a quite a good kit. at least they test the stuff they make so you know it's going to work with what you want. and you only have to buy the calliper mounts once...
  23. yeah I run brembo F50s now too with 355mm rotors and manage to fit them under 17inch nismo LM GT4s. they are a good strong calliper and with 355mm rotors give good braking and heat handling. there are shitloads of pad options for F50 callipers too.
  24. fark, 3 years old is a bit rough. out of interest what model tyre are they? and what size? I would not be happy with anything over 18months old.
  25. yeah that's the kit you need. and yes it does both front sides. not sure with 34 GTT but with some skyline models you can use a kit in both the inner and outer location to give you more adjustment, if that's the case you'd need 2 kits. ask the alignment place how much adjustment they need.
