  1. yeah I spent some time playing in 3d the other day. it's pretty cool. when in bumper cam mode the tacho and speedo reach out towards you like a real HUD. in-car it's a bit full on, behind view is nice in 3D. it's nice but not making me all excited just yet.
  2. yes not much chance of fitting stock 16 inch wheels over 324mm rotors. sorry. but the upgrade is a good one.
  3. awesome mate. it was kiers aus R32 right? fck me dea, 2.6 for 0-200? is that right? you must mean 0-100 right? either way that is bullshit fast!!!
  4. agree on the carbon lip thing though. I have 3/4 of an R32 GTR carbon front lip at home that proves the theory. the other 1/4 is somewhere in the infield at eastern creek if anyone wants to fetch it for me.
  5. nice wrx homo! lol. just kidding. they are pretty cool....... for a girl!
  6. how good is the FIA GT1 lately? so much passing I don't know what to do with myself. watched race 1 at interlagos the other day. was interesting after recently watching F1 race there.... The GT1 boys have no trouble sliding past each other. and the noises. my god the noises. apart from that all the cars look fantastic.
  7. manual soarers? very rare. I'd say one in 30 or less even. maybe 1 in 50.
  8. don't know where to start with you? have you tried riding a tri-cycle? maybe start there then move up to a big boys bike with training wheels. then perhaps pedal car, and so on up through the ranks. never give up!
  9. I have a good example for you of our great system in action. I own a number of cars (5 at the moment but the number fluctuates a bit) and 2 motorbikes. I have one etag. Simply because I can only drive one vehicle at a time. For whatever reasons the etags rarely work on the bikes. I have tried affixing them to the bike, no good. my only option is to keep it in my pocket and as I approach ride 1 handed while I fish it out with the other hand (got to be more dangerous than riding 60 in a 50 zone surely) then ride through the toll plaza holding it up in front of me. It works about 50% of the time or less. To me that says these tags are faulty. Anyway as a result I get a LOT of toll notices. I go online, put in my tag details and pay them. however as the tag is on auto top up and I have no way of checking it's balance there is no guarantee when I put through a bunch of notices that they will all be paid despite completing the process successfully. To further compound it on one providers website if I owe them five trips when I enter in the first toll notice it then lists the other 5 as one line item so I cannot see which 5 I'm actually paying and just have to guess which notices they correspond to. I have had over a hundred of these in the last year or two. Of them 1 somehow slipped through the cracks and did not get paid. That notice was refereed to the State Debt Recovery Office where they imposed an additional $150!! for a debt of $4.50. What other organisation could charge such an exorbitant interest rate on a $4.50 debt. It would be illegal. Also bear in mind that I had a tag, used the tag and attempted to do the right thing. Why should one small journey cost me $150? When I received the letter it states 2 options. Either pay the notice (don't want to) or go to court (also don't want to). Surely a local court is not the right venue to resolve a debt of $4.50? So instead I wrote a letter, explaining what had happened. I explained that I was and still am happy to pay the toll owing of $4.50 but feel that $150 extra is not reasonable. I also stated I did not want to go to court but since they had only given 2 boxes on the form I ticked the court election box but hoped with my letter sense would prevail and they'd waive the fine. I was wrong. I get a letter back stating that they could have 'reviewed' my fine (never mentioned in the correspondence they sent me) but that since I had ticked the court election box (despite my letter clearly stating I did not wish to go to court to waste tax payers money and lose a days pay of my own) they were obliged to send me to court anyway?!?! unbelievable. So I decided I would enter an early guilty plea but write a letter explaining the mitigating circumstances and quite sure the magistrate would see reason and rule that the $4.50 be paid and the additional $150 and any court costs be waived. How naive am I? I received a simple letter back with NO explanation of the ruling stating that the court ruled I owe $150 fine + $79 court costs a new total of $229 for a $4.50 toll that I tried to pay multiple times?!? I wish I had wasted that days pay and at least got my $79 worth of court time so I could hear what the magistrate had to say. it must have been good because they didn't include it in any documentation they sent to me. Great system we have. needless to say out of fear I happily paid the $229...
  10. lol, fairy muff. as long as you've learned your lesson...
  11. oh mamma!
  12. dude. camera angle is annoying. just saying. any photo that I need to tilt my head to look at properly gets the thumbs down. it's not arty. just gay. sorry but I feel you can take the criticism.
  13. lol, yeah karusell in real life is painful! lol, haha, I distinctly remember poor troys face as I threw our various poor cars in there and then just flat all the way through and hold on as the thing bumps and grinds it's way through till you're spat out the end. good times. the only thing I farken hate about games with the ring in them is it reminds me I'm not bloody there. I'd happily never touch another video game again if I could drive the ring once a week.
  14. nope. fantatec made a wheel that was ps3/pc and x360 compatible but due to licencing costs from MS to make it 360 compatible they had to limit production to 10,000 pieces and they are all gooooone.
  15. will find out on the screens. it is happening now so should not be long.
  16. looks nice dunc. so what are we talking for a kit like you described? around $1500?
  17. yes, all true old son. and one thing. people bang on about the 10 poles for vettel. a lot of those poles came with webber a few hundredths of a second behind him in 2nd. not usually any more than 1 tenth. how much advantage is there in being the last car to do a lap as the track is getting faster and faster all the time? half a tenth? a few hundredths? there's definitely something in it. not to mention the weight disadvantage webber has. when we are down to talking such small differences between drivers it could just has easily have gone webbers way with different qualifying order from RBR or some other small difference. I don't think there is any appreciable differnece in pace between webber and zetool. webber has beaten him enough times to prove he is as good on his good days as zetool is on his.
  18. honestly for a first day you don't need much advise on driving as such. but there is on really important piece of advice. BRING THE CAR HOME IN ONE PIECE. there is no prize money for the fastest lap, most out of control lap, or most spins in a lap. so just take it easy, enjoy yourself without pushing too hard. when on the track if you can go out behind someone with some experience that will help a bit but don't assume you can brake as late as they can etc as their car/tyres may be completely different to yours. so don't get sucked in to the corners etc in a car with inferior grip. make sure your car has decent level of brake pad and rotor, some new brake fluid, fresh oil in the engine. since it's a new package take it a bit easy the first few laps and build it up a bit then bring it into the pits and check for leaks, check temps, anything loose etc. basically just look after the car while having fun. you are not going to be offered an F1 test day on your first time on the track so just go out and enjoy. don't worry too much about punching out the super quick laps. oh, and keep an eye on your mirrors.
  19. sounds pretty reasonable to me mate.
  20. hmm, ok. well i'm a PS boy from way back and had a PS3 since the jap launch day way back when. I only bought an exbox when I saw the new X360S version with standard wifi and 250gb HD etc. to be honest it was a waste of $500 for me as I've only used it literally twice. I'm used to the PS3 but might give black ops a go on xbox. liek you say though not looking forward to paying for online play when I've had it for free for so long. It's not like I'm on every day.
  21. lol, having driven some reasonably quick cars at the real nurburgring nordschleife I can confirm it's just like that in real life too. you have to pass people going at walking pace up the inside, round the outside, 2 abreast, 3 abreast and people in 600hp GT2 porsches will do the same to you.... it's a miracle even more people don't die there in open days.... except in real life add in motorbikes and the odd campervan and you get the idea.
  22. I think it's more the fact of a big boom in entrants in a number of classes in the 80s and early 90s. by the late 90s these guys realised they would no longer be competitive against new hi po jap turbo cars. and by this stage that 'generation' had progressed to the point where many were club execs, presidents, members of CAMS board etc. basically the rule makers. so they devised classes that would enable them to stay competitive in older machinery. look at combined touring and improved production for example. 80s model RX7 is about the best choice of car if you are serious about winning a state IPRA championship. now surely something better has come along since then? yes it has but they are all hobbled by the rules. that's the slightly paranoid version. the other version is that the rules were set up in the 80s and early 90s and have not evolved to suit modern day popular street/track cars. and it's just a matter of updating the rules to be more inclusive of the mid-late 90s jap turbo machinery that is now in big numbers here in aus.
  23. apparently they added the 'more than 200' clause to exclude R32 GTRs (I should add this complete rumour and I have no idea if true or not). I can't think of many other cars that fit that requirement short of exotica like lambos etc which are not sold her by their manufacturer anyway. it's all bullshit. the intention of the rules is clear. to put any late model japanese high performance cars (namely 'imports') into categories in which they cannot be competetive. Crazy to think you can run an R35 GTR in type 1 or 2 but not a 32 GTR...
  24. lol. I remember a bloke with a super high single and bonnet closure problems.... who was it again? and I do enjoy the VL super high mount. be a bastard cleaning all the dead bugs out of the mesh though...
