  1. lol, fair enough. I know you steer the porcelain bus as well as you steer the F1 car. ie, with explosive force but not much aim... yes a nicole wardrove malfunction would be great but i'm just a bit afraid that it'd reveal a little 'package' and then plenty of crying game moments all round. though not for lewis cause he's a shirt lifter anyway and probably cool with it.
  2. lol, yes zetool is not exactly mr smooth passing. I seem to remember him in a torro rosso rear ending a red bull under safety car.... mad skillz. hoping kamikaze kobayashi livens things up a bit and that we get refuelling stops back. basically this year if you are not starting in grid one or two, or make a good pass at Turn 1 lap 1 then your race is over barring any accidents or blow-up. you just have to circulate for 50 laps and see what happens.
  3. fark that's a bit harsh. he had a f**kup in korea which cost him a guaranteed 25 points which really cost him the championship. he had to run all year in a team that clearly favoured the other driver with set-up, parts, race strategy, data sharing etc, no to mention the mental aspect of being in a team where you know the best they want for you is 2nd step behind their young 'marketable' team mate. still with all that going on for 17 of 18 races he was ahead of vettel and for most of the year ahead of most of the field. he out qualified vettel a number of times and really all year apart from the end there was a bees dick between them in qualiy. most times it was hundredths or thousandths between the 2 redbulls. a small fart on the straight and it would go one way or the other. he finished 3rd in the WDC and took some good wins and but for a small f**kup would have been WDC. I don't know why you hate webber so much but he's a good style of bloke. works his arse off and has gone a long way in motor racing against some pretty big odds. he may not be the absolute best driver of all time, but he showed that in a race winning car he is a race winning driver. just like half the F1 grid should be. you can't ask for much more than that. and when he's been in lesser cars he's been able to take them past their rightful place in the field. even bloody schumacher couldn't win a wdc every year when he had a good rear gunner, the best car, the biggest budget and half the field scared to even go near him on track. so yeah webber let one slip by. it's a big loss but doesn't really make him less of a driver. where was alonso in all this? he was saying he had it in the bag? if anyone went out with a whimper it was gonzo.
  4. so the verdict then? I have both PS3 and x360 which should I buy it for?
  5. dunc. HGE 80X is the winner. kel won't mind. it's not about her, it's about the car dude! my silvia is box 88. (hako = box in japanese). I love the box.
  6. BTW, 3.7 with a 32 box would give you an astronomical top speed. around 320km/h and you'd never get there. the car would feel so lazy. first gear would get you to about 80km/h, about 130km in 2nd gear.....
  7. dude top of 5th gear is well over 260 km/h? where on earth are you topping out 5th gear? and what mismatch? you still presumably have the same diffs and same gearbox you did with the RB26? and the engine should pull about the same rpm? when you say running out of legs do you mean it's not pulling hard at the top of the rev range? if so it sounds like you've gone backwards?!
  8. well that's the problem. I've seen plenty of people with their silvia/skylines etc who'd love to give it a go but the rules are stacked against them. they are not keen to keep turning up just to bang their heads against a wall hoping the rules will change to be more even. how many ferrari F430s are sold in aus? I wonder if I rocked up in one and entered type 1 would they knock me back? probably only if I was quick. if I was slow they'd love me out there for all the people who could say they knocked off a wanker ferrari driver.
  9. I'll answer that one. Late model japanese imports. and guess what, they get screwed because blokes in the V8 commodore don't want to get caned in type1 or 2. how is this encouraging some bloke with stock 32 GTR or stock S15 to race when they have to run in SVD. that is bullshit. but I appreciate your time GTR32G in answering and I'm not directing my abuse at you so please don't take it that way.
  10. brad, every jap market car has 180 limiter. not just skylines. they ALL have them from the factory.
  11. if you are interested neil I have a mate getting a batch of about 50 heated fronts screens make up in the UK. can do any car they have a pattern for and I'm pretty sure R33 is on there. about $500. it's also lighter than stock and is DOT/E marked therefore road legal and means no more heater needed.
  12. lol, agreed. the cusco/safety 21 cages are very well made and thought out. the mounting hardware is suitable for it's intended use and the welding is fantastic. they would be sued time and again by poor japanese blokes killing themselves drifting up mountain roads if their cages were patently unsafe. they may not be best of the best but they are certainly better than nothing. the real solution is if you don't feel safe with one then by all means go and buy a cams approved cage. surely just the fact that it's cams approved in design and material means it's miles safer right?
  13. yeah I thought 996 cup car too. but they are still bullshit quick. like I said pretty limited in the power stakes (similar to your GTR ant) but with a purpose built motorsport chassis (chassis is built with cage integrated from the factory), much lighter and of course slicks etc. I have driven one and they are a serious piece of gear.
  14. exactly it's bullshit. if aus S15s are eligible for type 1 etc then so should the personally imported models. it's the same car after all. same goes for R32 GTRs. they were sold in aus so if they can run in type 1 and 2 etc then so should any ones subsequently imported as again it's the same car (in some respects the aus one is better with coolers etc). like you said good luck going anywhere with an import S13 turbo in SV D (over 3l class with their 2L turbo). copying and pasting from the 2011 regs to me the spirit of the rules tell me a bog standard R32 GTR should be in type 1. as should a standard S15. not in bloody SVD. it's stupid. 15. don't worry buddy. my set of weds are still pristine in their boxes. and if I ever get rid of them I promise they will go to you. they look so nice. thinking of ditching the TE37s on teh new car in favour of teh weds if they clear my F50s and 355mm rotors (they should).
  16. webber will get up in 2011. no doubt about it boys!!
  17. i've used the mocomm one before. worked ok. I have NFI why the stuff is so expnesive. it looks like one needs a couple of 4watt radios, with chargers, then a set of cans for the crew and earbuds, adapter and mic for the driver. but they all seem to cost money. I'm pretty sure mick at corse used mocomm on at least one of his cars too.
  18. yes as a foreigner you can get away with some stupid shit in japan but there is a line and cross it and you will hit the nick so fast your feet won't touch the ground. if you are spending any decent time in japan you need to quickly figure out where that line is. on top of that there is a very real problem. if you are ever involved in a situation where it's he said/she said ie your word vs the word of someone else without witnesses or other evidence and that other party is japanese you are in some deep trouble. like a car accident for instance, or a fight or just some kind of misunderstanding. especially if you don't even speak japanese. that in itself is a sign you're a bad man! a japanese bloke could beat you up and then tell the cops you assaulted him without leaving a mark and then punched yourself in the face before the cops arrived and most likely you'd be in serious trouble. it's a funny place. the moral is obey the law and you will 99% of the time be absolutely fine. you can still get stitched up though so always be on guard in any kind of police situation even if you are 100% innocent. it's no fun spending 2 or 3 weeks in the slammer while the police figure out you've done nothing wrong.
  19. kombi challenger sure did piss me off. can get to 10th by hammerhead but if you tap someone then then just keep bumping into you until you DQ, or they push you into a cone and of course....DQ. it's annoying as fark. and they are so bloody slow. I also have a slight malfunction with my wheel. every now and then when I'm driving along with the throttle pinned it malfunctions and lifts throttle momentarily. In something as slow as the kombi it's enough that I loose enough momentum as to make the challenge nearly impossible if it happens.
  20. driving is greatly improved in my eyes. even over GT5P. cars pitch under braking, oversteer feels natural and controllable. cars handle nicely. exhaust notes have been improved but it's not like it was hard to improve upon the previous noises..... they are definitely better.
  21. I have to say there are some annoying things but my god the driving has improved. cars actually power oversteer now without having to induce crazy set-up options. previously power on understeer was the default action for any RWD car no matter how powerful. either that or violent snap oversteer which was un-saveable no matter how quick you were with the opposite lock. now the cars rear end actually moves around fairly progressively and can be controlled with some opposite lock and throttle application nicely. I can create an SAU lounge and set it to open ownership so anyone can take over as needed. would be nice. i'm beerbaron32 anyone who wants to add me please do.
  22. depends how serious you are. if you are only part timer and don't want to break the budget I would just get the logitch driving force wireless. it's good in that it's wireless (well has a power cable but needs no wire to the PS3), has no pedals but instead uses big paddles on the wheel for brake and accelerate. they are actually good to use and have a good range of movement and it sits nicely on lap and with no pedals to slide around on teh floor you don't need a cockpit. They are currently about $100 but I have seen them at dick smith in the past as cheap as $50! if you must have pedals then you may as well go all out and get the G27 and something like this: http://www.fanatec.de/html/index.php?id=220〈=en very clever design, easy to use and stores nicely.
  23. agreed. I bought the civic type R brand new as my first car and if anything it's miles too fast in sunday cup! i did a few challenges first so I had a few bucks and bought the cheapest mods like the $500 cat, the $600 airfilter and the $600 flywheel and the $1000 ecu and even that got me to nearly 200hp. car weighs 1050kg and handles beautifully in stock form with a total of about $2500 spent on mods. enjoying the game more now after a bit of online play. sadly as always there are wankers who just want to punt people off etc but on the most part it's good fun racing.
  24. looking good mate. always good to see someone having a go.
  25. sexual chocolate. best pic is the blue 31 interior. should put that interior into the GTR for some much needed class. how many cars you trying to build at once you clown? and half your pics don't work for some reason. photobucket sucks the big one.
