S15 is the best choice in your $20K budget. I just think you will not have the pick of the litter with "only" $20K for an evo 8 or even a 7. the best examples of those models get a fair bit more than $20K. same goes for an FD RX7. a nice 2001 is going to be closer to $25-$30K. but $20K basically gives you your pick of any JDM S15 on the market (save for a few extreme examples) so you can end up with a really nice model. Getting the best example of whatever car you buy is the key. S15s are a very tunable car, very predictable handling. easy to throw around. great car. the JDM models are surprisingly quick in standard form too.

oh and just to confirm I don't regret buying the sig edition one bit, but it's definitely a waste of money. just need to accept it as such and move on. the only thing I'm disappointed about with the sig edition is the key ring. I thought it would be really cool. like just the letters GT cut out or something but it actually looks a bit lame. but there is no doubt it's very, very poor value. should have been around $200-$220.

it's the little card/licence case. it's inside the wallet but comes out and can be used separately of the wallet. has GT logo etc on it too.

yes everyone had a laugh, question has been answered. let's all move on. thread closed.

Rebuild Kit For Hks/garrett Gt-ss
Beer Baron replied to Kaido_RR's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
ok well in that case don't take them to that place. send them to GCG in sydney they can do it. the turbos must have been bloody cheap on yahoo which gives you an idea as to why they are stuffed.... -
set-up pictured looks fine to me.

Cleaning And Flow Testin Injectors
Beer Baron replied to falky929's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
yeah with injectors out it should be anywhere from $15 each to $25 each max. I'd say around $100-$120 for a set of 6 is about average. definitely don't pay $40 per injector. a brand new injector is only $100-$150 each these days. $240 just for 6 injectors to be cleaned and flowed is drug money. $100 should cover it. there are heaps of places that have a fuel injector flowing machine and an ultrasonic bath. most workshops have one these days but failing that any "EFI specialist" will do it. can get as low as $60 for a set of 6 injectors if you're really hunting to save a few bucks but $100 is more the norm. -
exactly. I say live and let cruz. dont hate on the man jus cuz he got a 34 with some cool mods. enjoy bro. get that ecu and it will fly!

I would strongly suggest people just buy the standard game for ~$80 and enjoy it for what it is. a great PS3 driving game.

big question. Has anyone played it in 3d yet? I'm seriously thinking about buying a new 3D tv this week mainly for games and nice 3d movies. would love to hear some feedback. I played about 1hr last night just played some arcade races. drove an F40 around monza and loved it. didn't make many set-up changes but the car changes a lot with differences in TC and tyres etc. the handling seemed pretty good to me. braking in particular is much improved. I like it but do feel like an idiot for paying $300 for the signature edition when the game is only $70. that's $230 for some in game cars, a SL55 model, a key ring (not that nice), a usb stick (very nice) a wallet (also nice but I don't use one), a little card case (also nice), an art book (a bit lame really), and a driving book (have not read it). the 'obsidian black' case it comes in is certainly cool. so basically $50-$80 worth of crud +$80 game = $300. nasty.

Rebuild Kit For Hks/garrett Gt-ss
Beer Baron replied to Kaido_RR's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I would just pay the money. if it's not done right and they fail the next repair bill will be $1000 per turbo or more (ie bin them and buy a new set). bummer. this is when cheap second hand turbos don't work out cheap. -
I say rock out with ya cock out. it's your car bro enjoy it however you want. hop in that mofo dial up 8,000rpm and smoke those haters next to you. ppl alwayz be hating just cuz yo got the ballz to try some sh1t and got a hot car, they prob cruzn in some sht box. it will be cool. just don't wind the boost up past 22psi or so cuz thoze turbos wont make much more then that.

hi brad, there are tons of workshop recommendation threads in both the nsw section and forced induction section. pls do some reading in both. also bear in mind everyone has their own agenda when recommending places and everyone has their own unique experiences. on top of that nearly every workshop will have some positive and some negative stories so my advice is call a couple and see what you personally think about them.

having said all that some 10mm spacers will quickly turn those +44s to +34s which should be about perfect. -

just going off 9s 9.5s I'd say for a 10 inch an offset around +30 would be about right mate. think of a stock 33 GTR wheel which is +30 9 inch. now add half an inch to each side of that and bobs your uncle. maybe a +35 would give a little more guard clearance and still clear the suspension but I dunno about a +44. -
nice work mate. looks like you must be punching out somewhere between 250 and 300awkw? not sure if the cup car was a 997 or 996 but the 996s only have high 200s (anywhere from 260-290kw) at the rears but they are a bit lighter than us but still the way it pulled away on the straight makes it look like you're doing a lot with what you have. how fking quick was that zed too!!! he must have pushed the warp speed pedal next to the accelerator...

can I just say it's bullshit that a standard S13 silvia should have to run in SV when an aussie S14 can run in Type 1. same goes with a 32 GTR. they should be allowed to run in any class a local evo or wrx can run in. how does being imported change a cars performance? it's not like the S14 was built in australia. it came here on a boat just like any GTR or silvia I've ever imported...

Battery Relocation Components
Beer Baron replied to No Crust Racing's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
yeah I've seen many an automobile with a small dry cell securely mounted down in passengers side of cabin (where rear seat passengers feet would be if you had any rear seat passengers or a rear seat)... -
what happened to all the farken midnight releases? If I preorder anything (GTAIV etc) I do it from eb games in chatswood. well they had a midnight release for black ops 2 weeks ago so I thought surely they'll have one for a game that's been years coming...... nope. nothing. thanks a lot knts. I had planned midnight to 8am gaming session. fkers.

spot on. look here first and if you really can't find a suitable car then import but just like in australia you have to pay the right money for the good cars 90% of the time. 10% of the time good cars can be had cheaply both here and in japan for various reasons but the majority of the time: if the price is cheap. the car is cheap. and funnily enough bayside blue is sought after both here and in japan so if they are out of your price range here they most likely will be to import too. I wouldn't worry too much about colour. just buy the best condition car you can afford. silver is the bargain colour and my personal favourite. actually black is probably even less popular as you loose a lot of the shape in it.

oh but yeah there is not as many sets of 5zigen around like there are rays etc to do a real comparison but I don't think I've seen any smashed ones either and I have seen some on circuit. they do look like high quality wheels.
