dude it might be just me but that sticker looks like: Brus auto with the little autosalon star. what's up brus? -
yeah most cops are ok. but when there is any kind of violence etc they change fast. I have had some driving related encounters without problem. it did all get sorted but yeah the effect on his status was not good nor was the multi million yen bills he had to pay to get out of it. had to pay compo to the 'victim' etc. all bullshit.

that's exactly what we did.... the downside was my mates wallet that was found supposedly 'on the ground'. it was only him who got arrested. we tried to avoid the fight all night (my gf was with me ffs) but these clowns just would not take no for an answer. they got tough when bouncers were nearby made threats (I believe they already had my mates wallet at this point from previous push and shove the bouncers broke up) and in the end when the bouncers were out of site it jumped off and resulted in the biggest one literally getting ko'd (later sued my friend for 2mil yen for facial plastic surgery - having seen his face before the fight I think he was done a favour) and he was only hit with 1 punch mind you after he swung first.... and threatened to find and kill my mate (big talk of course). The other attacked me and didn't like getting his arse kicked so called in a mate who also got a good serve. we promptly 'took our leave' and bailed but the 'lost' wallet fcked him. and yes one did have a knife. and yes you do have zero rights. do not get caught doing anything dodgy in japan. you do not have to be charged to be arrested (probably the biggest difference to here). they can arrest you purely on suspicion and then hold you in jail while the investigate. I forget the Japanese word but it's 'investigation time'. japanese cops may look funny in their little uniforms with their little wooden sticks and no guns but do not fkc around with them. the sad thing was these guys 100% started the fight. it started when I went to the bar and one of them approached my gf and tried to pick her up (quite aggressively too), my mate politely said "umm that's my friends girlfriend mate" which got back "what? what? who me? I'm just dancing". my mate politely said "fine, just dance somewhere else it's a big club". the tough man wanted to go on with it and it spiralled from there until bouncers stepped in but they were waiting for us at closing time and unfortunately they got what they were waiting for. in australia the cops would have figured out what happend and told those wanna be tough guys to accept when you start a fight and it doesn't go the way you want that is called justice. live with it. especially as it was 3 on 2. and they still got canned. of course this is most probably just me talking big on the net and never really happened. >looks over shoulder at the nearest koban...

the count/bris alliance needs one of us here to hold the fort here in aus and garage the cars and one in proximity to ring and spa. tell them this is important business and pull their fingers out. lol. they are probably down the cas trying to win the bloddy toaster in the badge draw prize pool. -
yeah I have optimistic memory. but yeah you're right over $2K even with half decent exchange rate. but they are complex pieces for for real deal dry carbon it's on the money. the quality is top level.

agree I hate him too but only a bit since I'm holding him firmly to the promise of a steer. being a tall bloke his is an SR3 i can probably drive without kneeing myself in the face all the time. dane: bet you love all the options for different sized drivers. makes it much more accessibly to their target market that's for sure. most other similar cars are for the regular jockey sized pro racers. and leave the rest of us fked. -

car looks awesome dane! fcking hell having a touch with another SR3 on your test day must have been awful. did they have incar in both cars to help them decide who was at fault? it would suck otherwise as there is a big chance of copping blame for something that's not your own making. the bloke in the SR3 who went into T1 wall was 50/50. he was un luckly the lancer moved over on him but that is exactly what people do there. he did not pick his place to pass. even in a car thats 11ty times faster than the one you're passing you still need to pick your time and place and dictate the pass on your terms not just try and glide by at whatever moment you happen to arrive behind the bloke. pretty sad though and a bit more experience and he would have backed out of the move much sooner and not ended up in a spin. no one believes it but all the big ones at EC happen on the inside at T1 you get wide and into a spin and the pendulum effect catapults you into the inside wall. nasty. your car already has the 69 number on it. nice. -

f**k mate you are not having a good run. cams no good. the bloody sard rail I flogged you no good and the super fancy 6 boost mani still not as good as the trust one was. hope you still have the trust... Car looks good as always. and f**k me dead as if we need brisby to have any more power than 275rwkw. that is about 200 more than you need you clown! -
what you may not realise is your car already has a rev limiter and it will make the bang bang bang sound on the limiter just like any normal skyline (or other car) does. just hold your foot on the accelerator and wait and it will hit the rev limiter and pop and bang away. not quite the same as a bee-r type igntion cut limiter but 80% of the 'fun' for none of the money. it's a dumb idea but who cares? it's your car mate do whatever you want. having said that for the money of a bee-r limiter I can think of about 50 other things you could do to an NA R33 that are much more fun.

fark your first session was in the wet at EC!! that must have been 'interesting'. Still if you kept in off the walls then you did bloody well. they are great chassis but anything that light is aquaplane city with any decent running water. Like you say the thought in the back of your mind that it's someone elses car keeps the ego in check (well for most of us). Now we need some pics! are you buying local or going to import one through radical aus but from a uk owner? -
agree mate. sounds means a lot to me too. drive my mates afla group NC historic touring car. it's got twin dual 55mm webbers, makes 220hp out of a 1970s 2 litre with beautiful extractors and exhaust and sounds amazing. drive it around a track and you feel every single RPM and it's sounds like it will such a small child in through it's carby down the straight etc. now turn off the sound and it's just an underpowered nice handling 220hp rwd 1000kg car. might as well be a well set up corrola. sound is important. good sound can make an otherwise ho-hum car interesting to drive and make a great car amazing to drive.

dude you will love it at PI. haven't drive one there buy done some passenger laps in one there with garth and turn 1 at PI FLAT with two blokes in a car is scary in anyones book. they are mental at PI. I think you drove ec right? it's great but storming down the straight at PI and turn into turn one with no brakes is scary shit. now give me a drive you bastard. I'm not to proud to beg for drives. lol. happy to offer any of my crap in exchange but I doubt you'll want to drive anything I own after the radical. -
lol, forget azuki bean, give me the corn soup in winter. mmm corny afterburner... and yes keitei control system would make sense as does dodgey bento in the carpark. no make it dodgey conbini oden that you can smell from the carpark! have been to some fine oden ya down sth but the shit they sell in conbini in tokyo (and most other places it seems) is fcked up!

yeah even less chance of privacy as an foreigner with an up to date alien registration card. leaving it un-updated may have some advantages but I'll give you a negative too. a mate of mine when first moved to japan stayed with relatives and his alien registration card stated that address. he soon found an apartment and moved out but didn't both updating his registration. one night something bad went down. involved a night club. some fkwit Moroccans who picked a fight with us and when they came off second best they whined to the police. not cool, they 100% started a fight that we had tried to avoid numerous times throughout the evening until we could take no more. and when it went against them they didn't want to play any more and whined to the cops. it was also 3 of them against us 2 unless you count my girlfriend who stood there and watched. sadly for my friend at some point one of them picked his pocket or he dropped it (not likely), they 'kindly' handed it to the police to assist. police went to his registered address only to find he no longer lives there and no forwarding address. so not having another address for him they went and arrested him at his office on the 48th floor of the roppongi hills mori tower in front of all his work colleagues... not good. imagine that scene. anyway, completely random story but definitely a negative of not updating your alien registration.

yeah dude it's on speed and speed HD all the time these days. they do full round coverage of D1 GP and the special events too. but if you no got foxtel them i'm guessing you have no idea what the speed channel is. if you do have foxtel but still don't have it then time to upgrade your package. speed is farken awesome. and yes there is a massive kinokuniya in sydney too (pitt st) that may have DVDs but you can watch the current season on TV.

yes we have argued over the wing for many nights even when the car was still in japan! it was one of the first things that daniel wanted to change and at first I was un-decided by as soon as I saw the car in the flesh with TE37s and the nismo side skirts and the dry carbon wing extensions I was in love. they really complete the package nicely and give the car an awesome stance. it just gives that tiny little bit of toughness to it. and dan will know but from memory they are about $1000 a pair!!! genuine midori made and in dry carbon.

you'll never catch me banner....... no you wont...........wont.... yes I helped the D-man import his car which is no doubt a one in a million car. as far as how the baron complied it? That's the barons business but it's all above board of course. just takes a bit of extra dough and a bit of patience and a bit of effort but for the right car it's worthwhile. don't expect to rock up with your off it's nuts GTR and then expect someone to comply it for $2K for you. be prepared to pay the right money and you get the right work. Plus daniels car is not actually too extreme on the eye, either outside of under the bonnet. Like he said a few little changes like an airbox and... well that's about it, and it would look very standard. There's some shiny stuff here and there and the massive Alcons are a bit of a give-away but there is no massive single turbs, it's not super loud (but my standards it's super quiet), and it DOES have a cat (proper one too). anyone thinking of importing an off it's tits race car as a road car think again, but a car like this is a bit different. for starters it meets sevs requirements in all aspects in that it has zero rust, zero structural repair, no roll cage etc. it had some serious mods but none that were not reversible for import and compliance if need be. it retained original engine block etc all numbers match. it's a legit car with some nice gear. and like tangomatt said (and I know daniel doesn't really brag or make a big deal of it) but there is easily $60K in parts on it (that alcon kit alone from midori is over $15k) and that's just parts. about the same cost again in labour to have it all done and tuned etc so it does represent good value for money buying a car like that. but the main point is dan love it and it's such a cool car. everyone I know who has seen it reckons it's about the best, most complete GTR they've seen and being a genuine 1 owner NUR makes it all the more special. if anyone wants one like it you are welcome to talk to me and I may be able to help you out. don't expect a 1 owner, midori built, VII nur to pop up any time soon though! but there are always special cars still in japan looking for homes.

it sucks dane but i know exactly why it happens. projects take too long and you just loose the love. you get no enjoyment out of a car that just sits in the garage or the workshop for years on end and still costs you $1000 a year to keep registered, another $1000 to keep it insured (and you just know as soon as you let either lapse something happens), and then there's the thousands and thousands and thousands buying bits for it hand over fist and the most enjoyment you get out of any of them is the moment they arrive in the post and you get to play with them all shiny in their boxes and then they disappear somewhere like the rest of the stuff and on goes the 'project'. I went through exactly the same thing mate. i decided to take it off the road after a very small hiccup and then went ahead with a $25K engine build, plus another probably $20K or so of bolt ons for it and in the mean time I had other cars I was enjoying so it just say in the shed for nearly 2 years. in the end I realised it was nuts and spent a measly $1000 to get it back in exactly the same shape it was before. and now I LOVE IT again. every time I get in it I remember all the time I'd previously spent making it what it was and how much I enjoy it. I only fixed it and got it running to sell it but now not sure I can. still lets talk about dash. what I really need right now is more expensive, superfluous, racing gear. -
R34 Gtr Rattle From The Clutch
Beer Baron replied to K33P UP's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
yeah it's not the clutch rattling. it's the gearbox. when sitting in neutral with your foot off the pedal the input shaft in the box is spinning and the getrag's vibrate like all buggery with a nice thwacka thwacka thwacak noise. just part of 34 GTR enjoyment I'm afraid. and yes it can happen with stock cars but usually the dual mass flywheel (standard) takes care of most of it. -
that's not really the issue. in fact it had nothing to do with it. there are many reasons but surge never happens with small turbos like TT soarers have (plus they are sequential aren't they?). it usually occurs on set-ups with large-ish parrallel twins. it's partly to do with at a particular point the turbos start producing more air than the engine can ingest. hence why it happens at low rpm but high load situations. balance between turbine housing and wheel size and compressor size does it too and tune can affect it too but one thing in a GTR that is not helping it is the front turbos outlet feeds into the rear turbos outlet and right angles. you can do all kinds of stuff to the inlet pipe to the turbos and it probably won't fix it. lengthening the distance between the afms and the turbo inlets will reduce the haywire it plays on the afm voltage a bit but it's not the solution. the soluition is post compressor like the guys suggested. a divider in the standard TT outlet pipe helps as do trust and nismo kits that have very nice Y pipes. sometimes it can even be tuned out.
-
yeah nothing wrong with the tune midori made for that car. they are one of the top 10 GTR tuning shops in the world no question about it. it's a bit richer than our tuning philosophy perhaps but that's not to say it's wrong. it's not stupid rich either from memory. there are no hard and fast rules that cover every engine and every set-up. each car needs to be tuned on it's merits.
