come on alonso. do a vettel and blow that f**ker up!!!! poor webs. if he'd kept it on track he'd have had zero points for vettel, 25 for himself and alonso with 18 points would now be in second place 21 points behind webber... as it is webber's goose is not quite cooked. vettels blow up gives webber a lifeline. but f**k me dead webber picked a bad race to have a little f**k up. he's been bloody good this year with no f**k up related DNFs and only 2 DNFs in total. very bad moment to have one. I've still got faith. come on webber!!!!

A Boy's Love For His Rb20
Beer Baron replied to Roy's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
DUDE! definitely want rental of the 32 for spa and ring. promise not to rev the ring out of it like I always do. actually can't promise that. also please let me drive it before wooster as i'm not planning any 'offs' and I really don't want to try and reverse it out of his parking spot up in a tree near the 12km marker at the ring...... -
that is how they are supposed to fit. with spacers in the rail. and yes most likely the seller took these out of his car and replaced them with new sard injectors and put the old injectors into the sard boxes for posting to you. that is the most likely explanation. not sure what made you so paranoid. not everyone is out to rip people off. if these things worry you and you have trouble trusting people it's probably wise to just buy stuff brand new. it will cost more but it will come in boxes clearly marking what the stuff is.

nice seats mate. where did you buy from and how did they go about shipping/post?
-
glad you got the turbos back and well done on getting him to cough up for the reward money too. no way should have to be out of pocket just to get something that already belonged to you. my advice is do not post the guys details or pm people with his details. it doesn't do you any good and just causes more agro and bullshit. the guy fked up and at the end of the day he's the one out of pocket which is how it should be. just leave it at that and move on.

Importing Costs

go man en will get you a nice dinner at porterhouse in azabu for 2 people.... some of the best steak around. try go ju man and then your into the cool cars. -
lol, their timing is a joke. doubt you could rely on any of it. I briefly looked at the top 10 cars and all of them had bullshit laps. laps went from 1min mark and then one magic 49 sec lap etc. laughable. sam with a 58.1 looked to be about the first 'legitimate' time on the leader sheet and he was in about 11th place!

Importing A Supra Tt
Beer Baron replied to Nissinja's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
the UZZ32a are awesome. shame about the colour of that one as otherwise it looks nice. their suspension is awesome even today, mine had every option under the sun. sonic cleaning mirrors, heated mirrors, heated seats, sunroof, reverse camera, TV etc, the whole lot. was nice silver with grey leather. the only thing it lacked was power. a nice UZZ32 with a good supercharger is the way to go. with around 220rwkw they would be a great daily car. -
Importing Costs
Beer Baron replied to dreamresult's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
dude, ichiman or AUD$120 is not going to get you a 180 in any condition except maybe one crushed into a cube!!! anything decent need to multiply the budget by about 50 times.... going to need $5000-$6000 to get a nice 180. the FOB costs in japan alone will be around 100,000yen so say 400,000 for car 100,000 for FOB $1500 for ocean freight $200 steam cleaning $300 other various customs costs (aqis attendence, etc etc) 10% GST $600 5% duty $330 Looking at about $9K realistically. and bear in mind it can NEVER be registered in any state in australia. EVER. Considering all the fixed costs of importing I reckon you are better off paying more for a nicer/higher specc'd car. cheap cars just aren't that viable as you end up spending a great proportion of the car cost on stuff that adds no value to the car (like freight, customs, compliance etc). You could buy a track ready and road registered silvia in aus for $15K easy. track only ones around $10K to $12K Take my silvia as an example. S13 silvia with 100,000kms. has SR20 converion with S14 5 speed. Blitz twin plate clutch nismo 2 way LSD trust T518Z turbo kit 550cc nismo injectors Z32 AFM custom stainless intkae pipe with blitz pod bosch 044 pump Power FC and HC Profec E-01 EBC tomei dump pipe tomei front pipe Uras stainless manifold S14 radiator (larger) Trust front mount intercooler and piping kit Trust PE II exhaust with Uras titanium tip extension full 5 stud converion GTR brakes front and rear ISC coil-overs adjustable arms tomei 3 point strut brace cusco rear strut brace whiteline swaybars front and rear full genuine Uras N+ kit (front bar, skirts, rear bar) genuine Uras tail lights respray in silver Uras 17X8 +25 wheels all round with toyo proxes 4s 235/45/17 car makes 235kw atw on about 16psi and is pretty extensively modded with lots of very nice gear. and of course it's road registered and complied etc too. When I sell it I'll probably be lucky to get $15,000 for it. if you bought a basic cheap S13 it takes a fair bit of dough just to do basic stuff like 5 stud conversion and some nice mods. -
soon as I figure out how to get 3 more jobs that all pay the same as this one but let me work all 4 jobs at once...

mate if I was the chick from the tiegarten I'd be on you in a flash. full nose, man's body. stunning intellect. what more would a hot waitress like me want?

agree with troy. driving on the RSR at nurburgring and then driving the exige on the A050s (or were they 48s?) at Spa the RSRs were very good. I do think they tended to let go a little earlier than the other semi's but they had lots of feel and very progressive when they did start to let go. troy and I worked them pretty hard at the ring overdriving and they are big laps at 24km per lap! I do think they would give away a little to a set of 55s or DZ03G, or AO50s but not nearly as much as I would previously have thought. the car we had them on was pretty quick, turbo FWD with DSG scirroco with brakes, cage and suspension. good times! PS: wrong link bris. these are the ones: http://www.federaltyres.com.au/ss595rsr
-
yeah but they are just drawn on by that bloke who does those cool 3D looking chalk drawings on footpaths. should fool them nicely until someone tries to hit one hard on about their second laps...insert chicane here....
-
damn you! I was hoping you wouldn't post. when we were at the nurburgring troy was telling me you were doing an F1 course. was it at paul rickard? I was hoping you would not post the link because now I will want to do it...

Bnr32 Track Build
Beer Baron replied to Kaido_RR's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
meh. I used to love them. I bought one. the internal bell mouths are ok but could be a little better. the big problem is that it's bloody heavy and is right up the front of the car and nice and high too. that's the last place you want weight in a GTR. the other problem is it just sucks air from inside the engine bay just like a set of pods does so I can't really see any advantage to it over a set of good pods. and in fact pods with a shield are probably better. plus they are expensive to buy, and expensive to maintain (filter cost is through the roof). you can replace 2 apexi pods for $120-$160. so personally I wouldn't use one. -
Guilt-toy Now Running On E85 !
Beer Baron replied to Guilt-Toy's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
cool. I live just 2 mins drive from the united at rozelle but more servos around the place is a good thing. have 1,000cc injectors in the new GTR so am very seriously considering trying it out. -
I would actually say buy new. being a ball bearing cartridge they are effectively not serviceable. rebuild cost ends up being in the order of $1000 per turbo. given that gamble used ones could be an expensive purchase. in unrelated news I have a brand new set for sale.... happy to match beat any online price (nengun etc). and completely brand new in their original packaging with all accessories etc. or something like nismoids if the history is known and the seller is honest could be ok. not saying he's honest though. he's very good looking but super, super dodgey...
-
they are ok, but big, heavy, hard to fit and expensive. design is ok but I'm not that sold on split dumps. they claim to help spool up but during spool up wastegate is closed so how does it make any difference? ideally you want to allow the gas to expand in the fastest possible way to help flow. big bell mouth type dumps do that nicely.

Bnr32 Track Build
Beer Baron replied to Kaido_RR's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
yeah me like trust. good kit. fit nice and don't blow off. don't worry about the rates of your helper springs. all they do is keep the main spring captive under droop. stops them rattling or coming away from the upper mount. as soon as the car is on the ground they are full compressed and just act as a spacer they are usually only rated high enough to hold the main spring up nice and firmly against the upper mount. -
I'll see if I can get it for you. have used trust and HKS and blitz kits on my various GTRs. my favourite for a decent street/track 32 GTR is the trust kit (about 13row from memory) which has remote filter mount on drivers side strut tower and has the core mounted in the passenger side front guard with an alluminium duct. you do need to cut holes in the plastic inner guard to create an exit path so that air will actually flow through the core. kit is expensive at about $1,000 but it's well worth it once you add up the cost of filter mount (with thermostat and plenty of sensor mounts), block adapter (with more sensor mounts), lines all pre-cut to the right lengths, all dash 10 earls fittings, and a very good quality core and brackets and duct that fit nicely.
