R32 Service Manual - Who wants to pitch n to buy one?
AutoTrust replied to funkymonkey's topic in Victoria
Hey I need a manual...... I'm sick of the Auto!!! :zap: :zap: :zap: -
To start with the front RH guard would look better all white! then Mabe some nice wheels. If it was my ride I would consider loosing the 2 tone and painting the lower parts of the panels body colour. Then the car will have some street cred from the outside and you could concentrate on making the inside more comfortable, some DOOF DOOF perhaps....mabe a sporty steering wheel? whatever twiddles your knobs!! Have a look at the Jap models for some inspiration, just don't put a T wing on the roof!! :spew:

Urgent...indicator globe prob..carnary
AutoTrust replied to THE OAK's topic in General Automotive Discussion
OAK DUDE, I AM an auto elec and I can only give so much advice.... Ring around tomorrow morning and get your hands on the globes that i have specified (they are orange .....good...... and they are of a higher wattage....good..... and try them) If they still flash too fast then go to a jaycar or dick smith and get the apppropriate resistors to make them flash at the correct rate! I have come accross this problem before and it is not that big a deal to rectify. The genuine aftermarket front bars as supplied in Japan with different bulbs come with the resistors fitted to the replacement blinker assembly. If you go to an Auto Elec you will leave with a very light wallet... this is a fact. Please call me if you can't sort it out yourself as i am happy to help. Or just come and see me cos i'll take your money!!!! -

I found this on the hella website part No WY125 Its an amber wedge rated at 12 watts .... well worth checking out http://www.hella.com.au goto catalogue then automotive globes, then wedge based globes....down the bottom i dont know if it will be enough to slow the flasher down enough but for the few dollars they will cost.... who cares?? -

What is the actual problem? The lights are flashing too quickly because the wattage is too low, this is a safety feature that makes the indicators flash faster when a globe is blown. to get away with a smaller wattage globe on the front bar you need to fit a resistor of the correct value to present the correct load to your flasher unit. Any decent electronics store will advise you correctly on which resistor to fit. tell them the old globe was 21 watt and the new one is "?" and they can do the math. hope this helps -
APEXi Auto Timer - Wiring Question
AutoTrust replied to paulr33's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Factory alarm??? In my experience no alarm likes turbo timers, most will not arm with the ignition on. Is the turbo timer the pen style one? if this is the case you ned to splice into the computers wiring harness for the air fuel ratio meter to work. the english instructions are too hard to read due to poor resolution so use the japaneese instructions to view the pin layout of the ECU. hope this helps... -

Mupkant, where did this happen?? That is not a good thing at all. you may want to try UPI (Ultimate Performance Imports) in Moorabbin. -
Cool story Matt, Glad you and your friend are ok and glad you weren't in the R33R. Nice avatar...... now I need to change mine!! You deserve it more, having a genuine impul, mine is a genuine kit but not a real R33R. And Holdens have always been good to crash!!

Mufflers Now in Oakleigh [1611 Dandenong Road, near FTG road] and talk to Matt. Phone is 9563-1166 Apparently these guys do a swirl flow resonator that keeps the flow and cuts the noise well. GO THE 4 DOOR!!! -
What are your thoughts on this spoiler...
AutoTrust replied to Skip2myLou's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I don't think anybody should even think about a wing like that unless the car is low, fat, (rubber and rims) and has a ricey drift look already. If this is the case go for it. if the car is fairly standard then wait till it looks tougher before fitting a wing like that. :chairshot -
Nissan's Future: Good Or Bad?
AutoTrust replied to OKBANANA's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I think that in general Nissan will be better for the change, however i am not a big fan of the euro styling, eg the rear of the new maxima. That said, we will just have to see what happens performance wise with the remaining Skyline and Z. Not happy about the obvious difference between the 2 and 4 door Skylines either, but what can i do about that!! :hellpisd: -
I love all skylines, I prefer the 33 to the 32, but then again I prefer 4 doors to 2 doors.....go figure. I would ideally like to pass on my 33 to the missus and start again with a 34 4 door. Too pricey at this stage. Which ever you choose will be an improvement on your current ride and you will enjoy. Also there is merit in the fact that the newer the model the better the condition in general. It comes down to budget and features and what you come accross. Happy hunting :boobs: .....cos i like 'em
-
Been there done that, shame it wasn't a camera, then you could get your mum to take the suspension for you!! not that i have ever done that!!! :cuss:
-
Yes It Will fix that problem, you would have to turn your lights on and / or press the brake pedal to drain all power from the car, same as you do to reset the ECU.
-
Also, only ever disconnect your battery with the steering straight! If the wheels are turned then the hicas will self steer at 100kph!!! Weird but true. ho ho ho
-
Just a quick note; After fitting a momo wheel and after market boss kit my hicas light would illuminate after driving in a straight line for 10 or so minutes, after further inspection i found that the boss kit was different to the standard wheel in that the hicas sensor had too much room to move within the boss kit. to remedy the fault i wrapped the hicas sensor's prong with some adhesive foam and then some race tape to keep it neat while the boss was re fitted. now the sensor sits perfectly central with the gap taken up with the foam. Hope this has been of some assistance and MERRY CHRISTMAS HO HO HO............ now to wrap more presents!

When you repair or replace be sure to fit the bumper support and the end plates to give it more strength, I spent an hour with a bloody hacksaw in the drive way to make sure the bumper had some metal behind it. Watch out for the bumper ripping tow truck drivers!! they quite often go "oh well it's broken any way" and do more damage!!
-
There was only a crack in the bar wasn't there? that can be repaired fairly cheaply i would think looking at the damage mabe the bumper support was not cut down and re fitted?
