OK when i brought my gts32 it had 32 GTR seats fitted. I have owned the car for eight years and never crashed it myself but i suspect it was involved in a accident as there are some signs of repairs(minor) to the front end. I have recently noticed the drivers seat was not mounted flat to the floor ie the seat was leaning in to the centre of the car, however upon inspecting the mounting i find it all to be OK and proper which figures because im sure i would have noticed before if it was crooked the whole time. Turns out that the actual problem is the metal frame inside the drivers seat is starting to bend so i give it a push and find it straightens back up very easily TOO EASILY, im windering with the amount of 32 GTR seats kicking around has anyone esle had this problem. I think i may have to splash out for new seats as this could be a nightmare in the event of an accident.

sorry what i meant was i can only just get away with stock diff with 4.3 gears on my setup but a less rev happy RB30 would feel more 'out of sync' with the standard 4.3 diff and as you said bubba your 3.9 diff swap was totally worth it and made the car drive better because of your engine characteristics. My last question about changing ratios again was just because i was thinking that if your power band moves up the rev range 3.9 might feel to tall if you loose some bottom end torque.

i have one of these bonnets and they do supply you an ADR certificate - which later came in handy when questioned during a random police roadside inspection.

wasnt there a twin charge S15-SR20 made by BEE*R in the HPI mag a while ago?

having the power peak lower in the rev range must make the diff ratio feel even more out of sync. With the VCT head and a small turbo (on my car) the power band is pretty broad i would say its usable from 2500 to 7000, even though my dyno results say 5000 is the peak power it doesnt feel bad revving to 7000 because it doesn t drop off that much(280rwhp peak-220rwhp redline). Do you think going for a bigger turbo will make your power band match your ratios better? or just make you want to change ratios again.

Changing Tail Light Bulb For Led: Red Or White?
brent32 replied to cobrAA's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
is it just me or are there some LED haters on this thread. Its not like fitting 20" chromies which decrease performance and look ghey, leds are actually brighter and use less electrical energy which is why they are used in new cars. I admit its up to the individual and is alot of coin for a largely aesthetic mod. I like them cause they match the ADR LED high stop light mounted in the rear window. Also i find silver or clear tail light surrounds -like on the new WRX look shit so dont get clear. -

X2 eight years driving in sunny queensland with no aircon. after a while the wind strips all the vinyl off the moldings round the B pillars. -
at a amateur style track day i did at hidden valley in darwin 220 was possible with standard gearbox and modified rb20, also when i lived in the territory it was 'technically' legal on some public roads. Having said that i sincerely agree that on a public road it is stupid and dangerous to travel at excessive speed.

great thread guys, i was wondering about the pros and cons of a diff swap. sounds like its not worth the time and effort. Anyway even if you cant cruise at highway speeds without reving to 3000-4000 you can still accelerate in 5th in a 70 zone, try that in a RB20. also has anyone got any idea what the top speed of a R32 gtst with a rb25 gearbox would be im guessing about 220 reving to 6500-7000 on 18s
-
its not the speed thats the problem its following to closely in my opinion people are less likely to maintain a 2 sec gap in a 90 cause after doing 110+ for half an hour it feels pretty slow in the 90 zone, and of course all the suburban assult vehicle drivers all close up too much in the slower zones. in a 32 thats pretty low i cant see jack so i have a massive gap infront of me which just seems to incourage the SUV crowd to tailgate.

best aussie 33 ive seen in a long time, wheel fitment reminds me of the red33 denzo had ages ago- ie perfect. -
280rwkw doesnt sound too bad, seems to fit with results in the 'RB30 hybrid upgrade' thread for .82 housing 25/30s. Maybe some of the tuning guru's on SAU can help you. Post up the dyno chart.

Can you put me down as a maybe, depends on work commitments. Never done the quarter before but keen to try if im in brisy on the 20th.

Why Do People Remove The Rear Spoilers Of Gtr's?

Hopefully the looming global recession will leave nissan australia in the same boat as last time they tried to sell GTRs, if they end up with more cars than buyers in 2009 we may see them rethink the pricing of extras like 'dealer delivery' to a more realistic level. I hope nissan has the good sense to drop all the usual dealer sales crap that is no doubt employed on their usual new car customers and recognise that they may actually be dealing with buyers with a bit more gray matter.
