  1. He's after an amp, not speakers.
  2. I think you should be able to check it from the boot. Sorry can't check in my car, i don't have rear speakers. Is it definitely crackling, not distortion. It could be that the speaker has come loose and is rattling in it's mount, as you mentioned this would be at it's worse when the bass kicks.
  3. You only need one monoblock or a bridgeable 2-channel amp that is 2 ohm stable. You would run your 2 subs in parallel, therefor the amp will see a 2ohm load. From here it depends on your budget. But you would want at least 500wrms to be safe (it's better to over power then under power) Alpine monoblock (MRP-M500) - $499 and puts out 500wrms @ 2 ohm A cheaper option would be a Jaycar responce amp $349 and will provide 380wrms per sub (these amps are meant to be great value for money) hope this helps
  4. If it is an Australian delivered car then yes. If you imported it then it depends on the laws in that country, I have no idea what the laws are regarding this in Japan.
  5. It's not illegal to have a screen, provided it is wired into the handbrake. If your unit doesn't have the handbrake ground wire, or it has been installed such that it is bypassed then this is illegal.
  6. yeah they were on an mdf base, it was a while ago but I'm pretty sure it was about 22mm
  7. I fit 6.5" Focals in my doors without any issue, they have a mounting depth of 77mm
  8. I grounded mine so i could still access my processor option, the handbrake ground locks that option out as well.
  9. What do you mean your old speakers are overpowering your new ones?? are your old ones still connected or do you just mean that it used to be louder / more bass. Also what were the original speakers, the ones i pulled out of mine were actually fairly good.
  10. That's right, the only reason you can get demerit points for a defect is if you keep driving without getting it fixed. "Driving contrary to a major defect notice" 3 demerits - Straight from vicroads
  11. Dam you beat me to it
  12. That resonator looking thing is your cat, and the wire is your cat temp sensor. All it does, i believe, is turn on a light on your dash when your cat is dying - i think
  13. There is way to much confusion in this thread Does the dynalyner make that big a difference if you've already put dynamat on the inner and outer skin?
  14. I had Re01's on my car when it came from Japan and i managed to keep them through compliance, they were awesome! Then i got defected and was made to change them, bastard's
  15. You could loose the wing all together and get a flush mounted boot in carbon, I used to have a photo of one but i no idea where it is
  16. Yeah that's what i was visioning as well.
  17. As Chris said that wont be enough. I think i used about 6 sheets to do both of my front doors. Chris, is there a benefit to using the foam or is it just a bit cheaper?
  18. In all honesty, on acceleration you wont notice a huge difference as you have that much power driving them. Where you will notice the difference is in steering response, ride quality and braking performance (were all that power counts for nothing). Also if you want traction i think the tyres are going to cost more then the rims
  19. +1 for a great exhaust. Quiet and free flowing. I've got one on my car and have no probs with the police Good luck with the sale
  20. I've got a nismo 3" system and it's extremely quiet
  21. With only a rear cannon it will be ridiculously loud. Therefore, no, it will not be legal.
  22. wow, there's a lot of people on here that hate a lot about there cars. The only complaints i have are: - Disgraceful turning circle - Constant feeling of dread when driving that i'm going to get pulled over and defected. - Squeak in the rear end that i haven't got around to investigating - The fact that i feel the need to pour stacks of cash into it (this isn't really an issue with the car, it's more a personal issue that needs to be addressed sooner rather then latter or else i wont be able to eat )
  23. If your running at 10psi why do you have a boost controller? Mine runs at about 12 psi with just the restrictor removed.
