Hey Guys, I have an R33 that is pretty stock, catback exhause (i think its about 3.5'' with 4.5'' tip) and a HKS air filter is all that is done to it. I wanted to get a bit more power out of it and was wonder what are the 1st steps usually to an R33 to get the ball rolling? I was thinking Boost Controller & Intercooler would be my 1st steps - but if you have another opinion where i can better spend my money to get better results i would love to hear them. Cheers!

Sorry i mean if i get a boost controller - if i set it higher will it run higher or will it still run on low psi because of this other problem? Where exactly is the stock solenoid. Would this be something i will be able to check myself and reconnect it if it has been disconnected??

So does that mean if i get a boost gauge and have it boosted to 7psi it will still only run at 4.5psi because the stock solenoid is disconnected?

Hey All, I was kinda wondering why my boost is only on around 4.5psi, the reading is definately right because i have an aftermarket HKS boost gauge as well as the standard one on the dash connected. I thought standard factory boost was 7, could someone please help me out? Is there a stock boost controller somewhere or is the only way to get it on 7 (or 10 =P) is to go buy a boost controller? Appreciate your responces!!!

Well basically i asked my cousin what brands are good for intercoolers and he said he has a brand new hybrid one he can sell me for cost price but its got 4'' core and 4'' piping which is too big obviously... lol That would have been perfect though coz the price was good and the intercooler is pretty big... hehe Thanks for your answer mate!

I found a nice one that i want to put on there but i am not sure about the size becuase i heard too much air flow will cause my turbo to lag / take longer to spool. My question is do you think it will be ok as the Core size is 4'' and the outlets are 4''. My car is stock, only mods are B.O.V, HKS air filter and 4.5'' catback exhaust. Any help i can get on this topic will be much apperciated!! Thanks guys!

Yea dont worry about the noise that you hear from your dash when your abou to start it, tahts got to do with the air con.

Haha - not really its pretty stock so theres nothing else that i can add so you know 100% its me... it only has 4.5'' exhaust and a BOV so you'll hear it coming... im in those area in the mornings and afternoons (travelling to work and back) hehe. Oh i have a big JapStyles sticker on the back windsheild.

Make sure you have a front mount before you go and boost up your turbo, dont wanna hurt anything do you!!
