  6. hey i have no need for this anymore... i was gonna use it on my silvia, but i've decided to sell the silvia... its a R33 GTST Series 2 LSD Diff... i think its a 4.1:1 ratio its in very good condition, very tight, no leaks... i have NO idea how much these things are worth... but i payed $300 for it... so its for sale for $250... pics: my contact details are: [email protected] or 0412 21 0412 i want this gone asap cause its taking up room in the garage... thanks ash.
  7. just to finish off this thread.... the whole problem was a simple fix... it was running the wrong ECU... it was running a cefiro ecu instead of the skyline ecu... and the mechanics i've spoken to cant explain to me why it was running fine and then over night it f**ked up... either way, i dont care.. its fixed... thanks for everyone's suggestions...

  9. you know what... after about 10mins of driving it does actually start to clear up... i dont know of this IAC valve, but i'll do some searching... well, i just ruled out that the o-rings on the injectors werent faulty cause it doesnt leak fuel into the engine... what you're saying is right though... i cant fully rule them out unless i take them out and get them checked... but i'll try some injector cleaner first.... thanks for the info... cya ash.

  11. definitely smells of fuel and not oil.. the car doesnt over heat at all... and its not using a drop of water at all... but thanks for the suggestion...
  12. well, i'm not too sure... i was told when i bought the car that it was a skyline ecu that had been chipped by dr drift... BUT, i took it to a guy who fixed up all the wiring for me as it was a nightmare and he said he reckons its not a skyline ecu at all... its a cefiro one.. so i have no idea... cant be coils as they are brand new splitfire coil packs... spark plugs are iridium plugs (not sure on the gap, but i'll get it checked out)... doesnt sound like its the afm.. i've heard what they sound like with a f**ked afm, and mine is nothing like it... it could be the o2 sensor in the dump pipe because at one stage i had raw fuel going through my exhaust/turbo, so maybe the o2 sensor has f**ked itself...

  15. well, checked the injectors out today and no leaking from them... had a look at the spark plugs at the same time and this is what they look like: (cyl 6 to come soon, but basically like cyl 2-5, ie completely black) cyl 1: http://www.forghani.net/forum/files/imgp0955_114.jpg cyl 2: http://www.forghani.net/forum/files/imgp0956_685.jpg cyl 3: http://www.forghani.net/forum/files/imgp0957_194.jpg cyl 4: http://www.forghani.net/forum/files/imgp0958_949.jpg cyl 5: http://www.forghani.net/forum/files/imgp0959_137.jpg cyl 6: something interesting to note is that i started her up and let her idle for a while, and its was perfect... not a problem at all... then i started reving her and it was all fine... then about 30secs later all the problems came back... misfiring on idle and smoking... and then this problem stayed even after i turned the car off and let it cool down and then started it up again... something else to note would be that the smoke is now grey/black... no white, no blue, no green, no purple... just grey/black... soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, now that the injectors, fuel reg and fuel pump have been ruled out... what other fuel things can i check? is it possible that the ecu has a f**ked up idle map but a normal map for anything other than idle?? sorry, i just dont know how the ecu/maps work... thanks ash.

  17. but its not using any water... so i dont understand how it could be any water related issues... :lol: if someone could explain how the water level in the radiator isnt going down and yet its a water seal somewhere, id be more than happy to listen and learn...
  18. my issue is this... IF it was using water, then straight away i'd point at the BHG... but its not using any water... IF the smoke was blue, then it'd point to an oil related issue... but the smoke is not blue and its not using any oil... i'm gonna pull out the spark plugs and see if there is any fuel going into the cylinder with the car off... firstly though, i'll check to see which cylinder is dropping out... that way i dont have to take ALLLL the spark plugs out...
  19. okay... any idea on how to check them? or is it a job for the mechanics to pull the engine apart? edit: just thinking about it again... would the valve stem oil seal cause BLUE smoke?? i dont have any blue smoke.. its only white...

  21. is there anyway of testing that without pulling the engine apart? i havent had a chance to start the car since my last post... been too busy with work... i'll update on saturday when i take it for a drive...
  22. i have a similar turbo on my rb20 silvia... specs are: 50 a/r compressor .63 a/r turbine .57 trim still running on the standard computer and its running REALLY rich... its not pinging and not detonating... but it sure as hell needs a tune.. i have no boost before 4000rpm... but then it pulls (sideways) until redline... i would strongly recommend getting a tune sooner than later... no point running it without a tune...

  24. no, still the standard injectors... i might have to test them out... is there a way of testing them when they are still in the engine? or do i have to take them somewhere to get tested?
  25. well, the smoke and misfiring is back today... it kinda sounds like its choking on something on low revs, until you stab the throttle and bring the revs up then it clears up until the revs drop again... :? any ideas from peoples???
