  1. thats f*cked! before you take ANY Drastic action - contact your local consumer affairs department and tell them EXACTLY whats going on- do NOT take vigilante action! see what they say and go from there. to be honest I dont know how you lasted that long ! I would have got consumer affairs onto them a LONG Time ago - they are obviously incompitent boobs!
  2. regarding the overly cautious handling whiteline have released a product called " the blackbox " that allows you to tinker with the standard stability controls etc. They even say on their website that standard shocks / springs /swaybars/bushes are no longer enough to get a new " technology rich " car to handle like you want it to. a bit of a shame - as I beleive having cars that " keep you safe " also dont allow drivers to experiment and learn how to get out of a skid/ hairy situation you know what I mean ? I am not encouraging young bucks to go out and smash into a kerb testing their limits - but old cars didnt " step in " to save you. so you had to learn yourself how to do it.
  3. also - read up on the threads on LPG conversions - because it seems most people are " out of pocket " in the tune of around$1500 - what it costs for a power FC plus tune etc. SO that might be an idea! Also search and find out how to get the fault codes out of the standard computer. You basically short 2 pins on the Consult port and it tells you whats going on you might have a dud sensor etc etc
  4. and let us know where your located- someone with some stagea knowledge might be able to have a look
  5. no chance it could be the hand(foot) brake sticking? with ours sometimes you have to pull it out twice to make sure its fully off or jack the car up in the front and spin the wheels to make sure its not binding.
  6. hahahaah GOLD !!! ORGIES!
  7. you just reminded me of a weird dream I had that I was driving along in a car and the wheelnuts were falling off !!
  8. haa.. you just made me think of the scene from " the gods must be crazy " when some guy gets a bucket of water out to wash the windscreen of this old range rover.. only to chuck it at the windscreen to realise there is no glass in it.. totally drenching the occupant - ok - so its a " had to be there" moment
  9. ugh - you just reminded me - we have a leak on the passenger side footwell -faaarks! one of those jobs that I just dont want to do..
  10. cons for the N/A motor- you dont get farken WHOOOSH !
  11. is it still true that lpg etc makes the engine run hotter and might contribute to an early failure of the motor?
  12. or get an auto and stick the MV autos " shift improver " kit make the shifts a bit more snappy etc. oh and I too would not suggest buying an auto then converting it ..
  13. have you investigated the possiblity of getting the center bearing replaced urgently? is that an option ?
  14. I dont think we should be so quick to poo poo the idea - hehe.. thats the 3rd poo in this thread- oh no wait now 4th . but anyways to be honest - if I new we could convert the stagea to dual fuel - and it would end up costing $1000 then I would definately be interested. Providing the power is the same Gasguy- did you do a before and after dyno test? that would be a really great " selling tool " so you can put the 2 graphs up and show the torque curves and power curves etc.. then I think that would go a long way to settle peoples doubts
  15. like SOS - cool -least I know what to expect- many thanks
  16. alright - seeing as I have a consult cable - but been too lazy to work out the wiring for it - I am going to do this method ok - so I see the pins I need to short then I Am guessing you look at the check engine light - and I also presume that its one set of flashes - a break - then the 2nd set of flashes - to give you your 2 digit code right?
  17. I cant offer any help personally sorry- just in here to pass on my sympathies oh and the fact I think its incrediby cool that you can do roadside breakdown reports hahah
  18. whos Booby McBoobster?
  19. we might physically have the numbers - but it all comes down to time - money and enthusiasm - a elusive trifecta to get to happen all at once with most people but I put forward the idea to loretta so hopefully put us down.. oh and you might want to edit 1st thread wtih yes no's / maybe's
  20. haa. they used to have Nimrod computers in WA- classic!
  21. bwahah.. god that statement gave me a laugh - have you ever bought a 2nd hand car? aaanyways.. really depends on how much $$$ is a problem for this guy - how he treats the clutch once in etc etc- I wouldnt flat out say NO to a 2nd hand clutch - dont forget if either of those clutches use a standard organic friction plate then you can probably just get a new friction plate for not a lot - or - if the buyer is local - leave a deposit and get the clutch checked out for wear by a professional
  22. yeah - to be honest your better off getting an MP3 deck - or one that can read off a USB stick Dale ( stinky rooster ) bought a head unit recently that plays from usb and has all sorts of bells and whistles for under $200 - so you might want to talk to him too !
  23. that rear strut brace looks very very tidy! but at close to $400- ouch ! why so expensive I wonder?
  24. oh well - least you got the credit monsters off your back - sometimes its better to just cut your losses and get rid of the thing hey>
  25. ok - so lets get this right - how many people do we need min to get this happening?
