  1. hey matey - if you need a hand doing the coilpacks I can help I am scheduled to do ours this weekend.. or very soon - so I could show you how to do yours at the same time -basically its not hard- just fiddly really.. and some of the alan keys holding the coil pack cover on can be a bitch to get to .
  2. thats what I was thinking !! and thats what chuckie did- though he cut and rewelded if its radically off I will just post it back! nobody seems to have a definative selection from Just Jap - though darrinspencer seems to think it will work
  3. well chuckie I am just making the best guess possible without actually being able to SEE one and I beleive that JJR have changed the design slightly recently - and I dont really wanna spend $500 on a dump pipe - and others on this thread have said it WILL fit - so - just taking a gamble I suppose- but thanks for the advice.
  4. nobody has suggested spark plug gapping as of yet have they? if the problem seems to have occured right after a sparkplug change me thinks they are the cause? oh and make sure he installed the correct heat rating- and make sure they are gapped correctly could just be a case of gapping them down a bit and Viola!
  5. aah.. the wonders of internet forums - one good and one bad in the space of not long at all
  6. well a bit of bashing and a bit of grinding perhaps?s
  7. I spoke to someone from JJR - not sure if it was Darron .. but from what DarrinSpencer said it *should* fit - fingers crossed!
  8. oh and I think the new JJR bellmouth uses a 9mm flange
  9. thanks for that clarification - does help me immensly ok I will order the Just Jap Belmouth and a 3inch cat- that should do it hey? I am not against a bit of banging and grinding here and there.. long as its not taking anything too structural out .. thanks for the assistance
  10. ok - a couple of things are confusing me - 1) I didnt see TWO cats under the car when I crawled under there the other day. \what I did see was a CRAPPY 2.5 inch ( I think someone above wondered what cats come from compliance ) 2) I called JJR regarding that bellmouth dump thats been advertised and they told me it WONT fit a S2 kinda odd considering even the part number contains WGNC34 there was a guy on one of these threads that was going to fit one in the last few days.
  11. perfect ! dont forget to allow for shipping time too ! got enough axle stands?
  12. usuallyl there is just a panel / garnish you remove to give you access to the bulbs is that what your tryin to do ?
  13. maybe call arounda few compliance places- you never know they might be able to loan you some for a price I am sure!
  14. help save this dog! just an appeal to any animal lovers out there to please help this dog find a home. -------------------------------------- Do you know anyone who wants a dog... this one gets put down on Friday This poor girl I thought would find a home straight away but she's been 2 weeks in the pound and has till this Friday. Female Kelpie x Doberman, only about 12 months old. She's really sweet and just wanted to play. Can you circulate to your contacts please? The ones who don't object to being bombarded, that is. 15. see dont really wanna go fannying around with grinding and stuffing around - as there MUST be some sorta direct fit - but thanks everyone for the info so far - keep it coming ... so far the AM performance one seems to be the go - only thing I dont like is the price
  16. I went thru the split dump pipe thread already- and that was not a massive help. Basically what I want to do is get a better flowing dump for our S2 stagea I dont really want to go down the custom Path - and I saw somewhere that the CES ones for the R34 GTT works - but I am still waiting on Confirmation from the suppliers so in the meantime I really want to hear from the people that have " been there done that " ie- what gains did you get HP wise etc- any change to exhaust note- any improvement in fuel econ? so yeah.. that kinda thing. I just really need to work out what is the best way of going about this - Bang for your buck being a prime focus.
  17. well I too am looking for another dump pipe to replace what I assume is factory I was lead to belive the JJR pipe fitted S2 and S1 - but I just called them up and its pretty difinative that it wont work from the horses mouth so to speak so yeah.. came into this thread in the belief there were a few alternat ones that definately fitted the S2- but I must be blind cause I cant see it
  18. * ties dales shoelaces together *
  19. well a mate did it to his r34 and he reckons boost comes on quicker and better mid range torque I dont really like " winding it out " to get max power
  20. that would be nice I am not so keen on having to drive around WOT to get any power
  21. well depending on date etc - we should be there lotty is going to melb in about 3 weeks- so thats when I am aiming to do my adj cam gear install so just let me know hey
  22. when is the new season coming to aus?
  23. I want to rub soemthing purple on that paintjob !
  24. I suppose my question would be- can the $3000 odd be better spent on other mods for the car? sorry but I am completely unfamiliar with what mods you have already if that new plenum and TB is going to give you the power you need ( as you have all the other supporting mods already - ie after market ecu or bigger injectors etc ) then yeah go for it but if there are other things you can spend $$ on then I would go with that ie - just dont get it if its for looks/bling
  25. dude - I am only saying this cause nobody more knoledgable has come along yet ! ok - basics - 3 things needed to get a motor started - fuel - spark - something to turn it over so yeah.. just make sure its not something as simple as a fuel pump failure you can test this by VERY CAREFULY taking the fuel rail feeder line off and just see if it spits any fuel out when the fuel pump prrimes .. TAKE CARE doing this!!! and - take the plugs out and see what condition they are in - I had a pulsar that wouldnt start and it turned out that all the plugs were saturated by fuel - replaced em and all ok its a bit harder to check for spark on a car that has coil packs - so maybe someone who is smarter than me can come in and suggest a few things.. but yeah.. just make sure all the basics are good and see where you go from there. also your starter motor might be seized - apparently banging it with a rubber mallet etc might help I am in no way a expert mechanic- but you didnt seem to be getting many replies so thought I would put some basics in here
