  1. the stagea rear tint ( anodizing? ) is really dark - and that passed the pits I think you just need to make sure they get off their lazy asses and get the meter that measures tint and not get one of the old farts to just look at it and go - too dark ! ( like they tried on us! ) hope it works out for you
  2. maybe get some electrical contact cleaner and pull out the relay - give it a bit of a clean - then re seat the relay. you sure its not a dodgy ground point? or the bulb not sitting well in the bayonet holder. I have seen it a few times where the bulb does not sit in the socket well and causes problems
  3. anyone got decent photos ./videos of the white whale? aka our car that lotty was driving?
  4. yeah should be fine hey.. apparently the dayco brand belts are just as good as anything else
  5. ouchies ! good to see you came out of it ok.. shame the AWD couldnt pull you out of hitting the tree.. or was it a bit too far gone for that? the shift kit- do you know if it will fit the tiptronic gearbox? also - how much you chasing for the rims?
  6. you sure Its not reading correctly? when you said the car was running really rough .. you sure it was not detonating because it was running too hot?
  7. bwhaha.. I wasnt gonna mention that!
  8. oh and john thanks for organising the sequencing of it .. turned into a bit of a free for all later on in the day haha
  9. On Behalf Of Loretta thanks Brad for organising all that! much appreciated I think it took a bit of time for loretta to get into it but after she learned a bit more then she really enjoyed it. I will see if I can post some photos up if any came out well. *waits patiently for Bubba to post the vids *
  10. cute mark 1 there in your avatar I am pretty sure nobody is coming in a m35 but I could be wrong
  11. not being the social co-ordinator in the house I have NFI what we are doing on either of those dates. I am pretty sure we will come if we can make it - so yeah I think you got 2 recruits here if things work out.
  12. hey matey where the hell have you been lurking??? haha.. might get some wicked footage off it. your camera can take RCA hey..sounds good
  13. or investigate the K&N appollo filters.. looks like a little lunar lander with hose coming of both ends. ( I swear thats directly copied and pasted from their website! ) yeh basically its an enclosed pod with flexible intake and outlet.. that might do what you need
  14. bwhahah., keen as mustard hey? I still have this small reversing camera - anyone have a handycam they can attach it to ? then just get some duct tape and put the camera on the front bar or something ( comes with a 5 m extension lead ) and tape your trip around the track
  15. I reckon the stag will look good VIP style..
  16. see Grant that last pic is MY idea of VIP - not taking sides I am just saying that in my humble opinion that last pic is a good " all round " package.. subtle and well sorted and elegant. ( other than the fact that front lip is probably a major PITA over speedhumps )
  17. Yeh good advice.. I was going to mentiion the DLS issue too.. so make sure everyone makes it on time. oh and make sure you check tyre pressure and fluid levels etc..
  18. I think it all boils down to " form over function " - Grant might prefer going for a certain look despite the fact it means mods that some of us would rather do without ( like very limited suspension travel etc ) while others dont really GAF what things look like just as long as they do the job that was intended. Personally I am not a fan of strectched tyres.. but what ever cranks your handle you know? the thing is I wonder around a track what would go better.. a car like Grants or a stag with a bit of suspension mods and running standard wheels and tyres.. and .. remember the analogy between arguing on the internet and mental retardation everyone..
  19. how many pucks in the clutch - usually the more pucks the less shudder you will get but if its a puck clutch to be honest I am amazed you didnt have shudder before now.. button/puck clutches are notorious for shudder.
  20. yeah I woudl more than likely leave the power off till I got everything in place then re-connect the battery for the " smoke test "
  21. well I changed my o2 sensor and to be honest have not really noticed any change what so ever. having said that I have not actually TESTED to see if it works. Also in removing them .. using a small pry bar and a cut down 22mm spanner works a treat. I just cut a slot (As suggested by others ) in a ring spanner. the wiring they use on these sensors seems to be resisitant to solder- hence why they supply crimp connectors I think
  22. Ryan ( or anyone else reading this ) did you have to take your seats out? I have done waay too many installs being slack and not taking the seats out .. and usually means you need to contort like a chinese gymnast to get to anything.. so I am thinking it might be best to take the seats out. I presume there are some looms./connectors for the electric seats?
  23. does the car tend to lean over in corners? maybe you need an upgraded swaybar.. SK is teh mastaah when it comes to suspension on stags on this forum - so I am sure you will glean some good bits of info from him I found the stagea quite wallowy around corners.. we are in the middle of installing bigger swaybars but have not got it quite as flat as I would like - yet. so just putting that idea out there
  24. thanks guys for all the advice.. hmm under the seats is sounding a good idea at the moment will make for fairly short speaker cable runs too . and I guess I could just bolt the amp for the sub to the sub enclosure, I think I am just going to go slowly slowly and try and run the speaker cabling this weekend and maybe do a dummy fit under the seats. the head unit powering the speakers as it is now is nice and clean/clear but needs more powaaahh..
