  1. is he 100% sure that the o2 sensor is performing correctly? ie .. did he stick a consult computer on it and monitor what the o2 sensor does? also have you tried resetting the ECU .. so that it can " learn " your new setup ( ie new o2 sensor etc ) I would double check that the o2 sensor is definately giving a readout before you go too far down the path of changing dump pipes etc in regards to the o2 sensor not going deep enough into the exhaust stream .. why not see if you can get the nut ground off and get a fabrication workshop to make it so the o2 sensor can be screwed in deeper. hope that helps.. its all a wild stab in the dark .. but seems logical
  2. also wheels world do a great job of alignment/ sussing out suspension problems .. great service.. but you do pay for it. they were about the only ones that ironed out my suspension problems in the old pulsar I had.
  3. while RWD only can be a lot of fun.. it would probably be good to get the car back to AWD . these things are remarkably sure footed .. hardly ever breaks traction hey if you ARE going to do anything with the gearbox why not get that MV autos shift kit installed while your at it? the box might just need a service and not a total replacement and Dale thats pretty damned cheap for a stagea gearbox.. where the hell did you find that from,?
  4. yeah we have No idea what we are doing for NYE.. ugh .. by the amt we partied last night its probably going to be wishing each other happy new years in bed!
  5. or buy a more expensive filter if price is no option the foam on those HKS ones gets a bit crumbly at times . hence why I am not a big fan of em
  6. when positioning those guages.. just make sure you dont position them too low because this will cause you to take your eyes off the road for longer than is desirable Maybe look at those Meercat/mearcat guage pods? and mount them up near the dash somewhere?
  7. I would suggest going to the bother to get specific electrical contact cleaner. some of those other cleaners mentioned might cause problems with the plastic near the AFM's There are some " 3a racing filters " going around that are cheap ( $20 ) but supposed to filter and flow quite well . Maybe just get 2 of those and see if the problem improves. its not one of those HKS mushroom ones is it?
  8. hey .. just in regards to your comment on restriction did you take out the restrictor in the factory rubber tubing that connects to teh boost t? I did ( as per instructions ) so maybe give that a go !
  9. Merry christmas peeps! hope you had a good day ( well its not over yet) I am currently feeling full as a boot on the sphincter of the universe and ham and potato salad etc. Lotty did wonders cooking the the sphincter of the universe and ham etc..we got TONS left over so we are going to be eating left overs for yonks! And we used the space of the stagea to good effect picking up my sisters BBQ and bringing back the Kaffir lime tree loretta got given for xmas. god I am snoozy now.. but loretta seems to be in full flight having a drink so I am sure that my afternoon nap will have to wait. well everyone have a great boxing day !
  10. haa.. excellent.. its good watching other people get hurt !
  11. yeah dont drink and drive.. but someone PLEASE tell me what happens when you get sh1tfaced drunk and jump on some sky runners! just search it on youtube ! oh and a virtual chocolate frog for the person that posts a link to sky runner carnage!
  12. aww.. thanks I Just posted a merry xmas thread in the pulsar forums haha.. so you can be the leader in this group ! yeh everyone .. I too say its been a pleasure getting to know you all .. drive safe ( double demerits ) and enjoy yourself .. hope we have a WA stagea get together early in the new year
  13. I feel guilty now.. as it was probably ME that raved about that boost controller they can be a right Pr1ck to set up .. what boost did you want it at? as I hear they are hard to regulate when you approach the 16-18psi rate.
  14. well I dont know for sure..( as I have only cleaned the IAC valve on the pulsar ) but I would assume the same thing applies to the RB motors. what do the sparkplugs look like? is the colour ok ?
  15. is the edge of the butterfly valve in the throttle body clean? or is it gunked up? from what I understand ( least on sr20's / my RB knowledge is still on a learning curve) there is a small pin hole that lets a bit of air past hte butterfly valve on idle - and maybe check your idle air control valve? they sometimes get gunked up and need a clean
  16. pumping the pedal - yeah.. not a good idea on an EFI car. the only time you should be screwing with the accelerator on startup is if you think the car is " flooded" with fuel . opening the throttle body butterfly valve will allow more air inside and hopefully get rid of some of the excess fuel vapours and also allow a bit more air in there so that the mixture will eventually fire. have you tried changing the heat range of your plugs? ie go hotter or colder? what do the plug tips look like when you take them out .. can you show us a pic? can you hear the fuel pump prime?
  17. totally off topic .. but you started it haha to be honest he already had that name when I liberated him from the cat haven !
  18. haha.. sorry brendo ! my brain just shorted out it seems
  19. yeah I thought that too but spoke to a guy in a local workshop ( and he knew his sh1t ) and he advised me that yeah.. as dale said .. its predominantly RWD .. but puts the power to the fronts when needed.
  20. Cy your right about sending the car to a good home.. alas I cant say that about my pulsar ( well I dont really know what its doing now ..) its nice to know someone will continue to improve on your hard work
  21. does the way it builds boost look odd to anyone else? I mean dont get me wrong.. its an awesome result just befuddled by the boost curve.. looks almost like its running the high/low boost settings still unless that was to " tone down " the turbo spooling up ( ie if boost came on too savage) and dale.. where did you see the torque reading?
  22. and now .. the question on most of our minds is.. I wonder how many L/100km you will get!
  23. awesome effort there.. and good to see you were not just " chasing a number "and chose the less horsepower but more reliability route. the car must feel nice and rapid now. shame you cant take me for a rap , but in hindsight its probably a good thing as it would just depress me that I dont have the $$ to get ours up to scratch
  24. haa.. Ironic isnt it? I went from a Pulsar with no traction to a stagea with heaps of traction but I am here thinking .. hey that 1600 sounds heaps of fun! Never happy it seems!
  25. ummm you sure thats not a relay your looking at? can you post up a pic? and yeah.. one of the joys of owning an import .. getting parts is not always a straight forward affair but .. keeps you entertained.. and when you find a good autoparts store stick to them ( shameless plug for Repco Vic Park in W.A ! )
