it should be possible to remove it without taking it out of the car. the high pitched whistle.. have you had it re-cornfirmed by someone that it IS the turbo ? some cheap intercoolers give you that " china whistle " just saw the comment about no boost pressure.. could be split hose?

dont discount the AWD stageas though.. they are sure footed to be sure! they really just hookup and go ! specially in the wet.. one of the safest cars I have driven in the wet full stop !

hey.. have you looked at www.j-spec.com.au? they have quite a few stageas in there now.. there is a good looking black one and a gray one and a red one too .. ( I sound like plaaayschoool )

haa.. thats not a wing.. its a portable rain shelter! fck me drunk that thing is HUUUUGE! if you really like the car etc.. why not get it and just get the wing removed and put another one on ? I would like to see more angles of this wing as the center bit looks odd.

you will piss it in ! get one of those tools.. a beer.. and follow down past the fuel filter and your in the right area. mine had been put on by a rock ape.. and my whimpy IT hands couldnt budge it, but that repco tool saved the day.

keep going past the fuel filter and its there.. UNLESS.. you have an oil filter re-location kit! its a fair way down towards the bottom of the engine bay and fairly difficult to see

repco do an AWESOME one! its got a 3/8ths square drive in the center and a ratchet mechanism that makes the 3 arms close over the filter. well worth it ! they normally come with rubber covers over the arms .. and you sometimes need to remove those to get more grip cost me $20 or something

or if your super keen on the car and its a once in a lifetime opportunity.. buy a bunky to get you around during the week and keep it as a weekend car? to be honest even changing the o2 sensor wont make it a super fuel efficient car.. I Think juts about any straight six turbo motor driven with some enthusiasm is going to drink the juice

saw not ONE but TWO stags out and about yesterday! one on albany highway ( well could still be shepperton road at that stage ) heading away from the city.. was at the intersection near where office workds and red rooster is. then another down Berwick street , these were all seen around 5:30 or so in the afternoon the silver one looks like its pretty stock and same for hte white one .. anyone round here own either of these cars?

man this is a pretty stuffed up situation hey? so the question I have is .. what then happens to the car if you CANT get it on the road? does it get parted out etc? it seems insane that its ONLY the startup emissions that are causing a problem here. and once the cat is up to temp it would be ok . To be honest.. I dont think your going to have any problems being recompensed. Bad situation to be in for the importer though. one hell of a mess keep us informed as to how this all rolls out ! oh and keep a log of your lawers expenses

sorry man it still boggles my mind! if you tuned it so it didnt run as rich .. and maybe lowered boost( I dont know much about the m35's to be honest) if you do that it might just pass. so how bad is it? I mean how much better do you need to make it to pass. I am sure there must be SOME way of dealign with it?

bad news indeed! but I really struggle to comprehend how earlier models can be complied ( and I presume pass emmisions testing ) and more recent ones cant.! have you been given a good technical reason as to why it wont pass emmisions test? I would have thought with a new cat converter and a good tune etc it should have been ok

still makes me laugh that we are discussing stereo installs to take the least amount of room.. and we all drive these wagons with massive storage in the back haha .. but yeah I too want to keep it looking factory when our stereo install has been done

yeah .. but dont forget your Stag isnt really your daily driver. I think having a car you can mod that is NOT your dialy is a better option sure I would like to get a bit more power and better handling out of the stag... but its a nice cruiser and I dont want to ruin that
