  1. what its not fat enough for you already!
  2. does not look factory.. why not get in there and see if you can trace the wire back .. that should give you SOME idea of what it does.
  3. crash investigators at this time must have an idea how fast the cars were going. Dont forget - if there was a slight crest just before the intersection ,and the cars were going double the speed limit ( just for the sake of the argument ) then the 71 yo lady would have f00k all time to react ! I mean even if a cars doing 80 in a 60 zone it still gives you a little less time to get across the road etc.
  4. dont forget that you can really only get limited tuneability with the SAFC. As when you add Boost it retards timing. ( from my understanding of it all ) I think thats why you need another computer to control timing ( SITC? ) that way you have a lot more room to move when your trying to get optimum timing/AFR settings
  5. some of the cheaper multi meters that you get in jaycar have a serial rs232 connector so you can do data monitoring. The other thing that might be good to get your hands on is a Consult cable. ( if there is one for your car) then you can just Datalog the run ( or whatever ) and then graph it or analyse it in Excel etc. there are a few suggestions hope it works out
  6. like snorting lines off hookers bottoms? that kinda thing? ahaha
  7. as previously mentioned.. maybe investigate if you can adapt that BOV back to a plumb back . also vac leaks can be quite hard to track down .. make sure you look for cracks at the places where other pipes join the inlet ( if there are any ) to be honest I was really impressed by the stock recirc valve on the rb25det NEO .. looked very well made! and at least if you have a recirc BOV the boys in blue have got one less thing to bend you over for ! and if you have a pod you should still hear the BOV noise.
  8. is the spring rate correct? if you push down on the front guards ( just near the front wheel ) can you push it down fairly easily? or is it pretty firm ? are you sure there is not a plastic guard hanging down further than the rest of the front bar?
  9. thats one of my pet hates.. those windows that dont go down properlly.. of course as everyone knows its because the glass cant physically fit all the way down the door.. but just shits me as I like resting my hand on the window sill and you cant with those windows.. but .. I dont care cause I am never going to be sitting in the back hahah
  10. Loretta spotted a silver stagea coming onto our road off albany highway in st James. not really sure on details as I wasnt with her.. but I have seen a silver one kicking around in our area seen it up at the BP up the road too ( close to John St )
  11. your a clever man ! I am going to try that whats the size of the o2 sensor ? its 22mm isnt it?
  12. Completely agree with this .. then when someone in the know ( ie knows skylines back to front ) sees your 300 Km/Hr speedo you better be prepared to get your seats cleaned whilst they p1ss themselves laughing at you. sorry to sound harsh mate.. but as pointed out early , I am sure there are better places to spend your money rather that making your car appear something its not ( ie capable of 300 km / hr ) dont take it personal its just my opinion ok?
  13. the NEO thats in our car had this cover over the coilpack harness, and to make matters worse the breather pipe has a right angle on it and you basically have to contort the cover around the breather pipe and the oil cap . Now that I know how to do it , next time will be easy. But yeah the cover extends right round to the end of the rocker cover I suppose it is. you have to remove wiring harnesses etc ( I wont bore you with details )
  14. I have been called worse haha.. no its just the 1st time doing it .. was just a bit of a pain .. compared to some of the other cars I have worked on . That and the breather hose being rock hard etc etc etc.. but .. got my good 1/4 drive ratchet set.. so those pesky alan keys holding the cover on dont stand a chance now.
  15. bwahaha.. changing the plugs is hard enough .. can you imagine if they were under about 5 large tubes worth of silastic ..
  16. you can also chamfer the leading edges of the pads ( and the trailing edges too ) thats proved to work in other instances.
  17. might be a safe idea to check your auto fluid levels too.. dont want to muff the gearbox by driving it with low fluid
  18. yeah I really need to get under the stagea and give it a good degrease. I am not sure if the slight bit of oil I saw under there was gearbox oil or ( as I have found ) when you change the oil filter some oil drips down to near the crossmember under the car.. so .. who knows. the weather over here is not really lending itself towards working on cars. Oh for a massive shed
  19. man its going to be a bit of a headf*ck to make the bracket up accurately . why not just send em back and say they dont fit? will be a lot easier. from what I could see of the bracket that groups the 3 coil packs together it looks like its made out of reasonably thick ally plate. Or why not just see if you can get that plate from a wreakers etc?
  20. I think it feels a bit slow to me cause it does get up to speed without making a lot of fuss. unlike my previous car where it was anus puckering terror not to torque steer into a tree!
  21. the one thing I did notice .. whilst reading the instuctions on how to change the coilpacks I think the NEO uses a slightly different configuration than the non neo motors. Looking at the how to article.. it seems that on the non NEO motors.. the coilpacks are grouped in 3 and attached to a plate ( 2 plates for 6 coilpacks ) on the NEO the coilpacks are just held in with 2 screws per coilpack. If you got the right coilpacks for the motor . and they are not a direct fit , I would be complaining or seeking re-embursment.
  22. good write up ther pixel8r informed me of a few things too.. thanks !
  23. dont forget you have approx 3 -4 months lead time before you get the stagea .. so build that into your calculations. Other thing is maybe go see if you can take one for a test drive.. just to see what it feels like .. you never know theremight be one little thing that really pisses you off or see if someone on here is near you and get them to take you for a spin where abouts are you located anyways?
  24. and.. if you give it a bootful in the wet you wont spin out and crash into a tree hahahaha no seriously.. my ideas on the stagea are A) I like the shape - and they are not a common car to be seen on the roads. B) have a fair bit of power behind them c) are extremely surefooted in the wet.. probably the safest car I have driven in the wet. d) very luxurious if you get leather trim etc. is there any particular reason you want to do the r34 front end conversion ?just for looks? if so .. check out the autech body kitted stageas. I have one and I do like the kit , and its fairly uncommon car to see around. If you spend a bit of $$$ on it you will definately get the horsepower up - just beware of the other things that might not deal with the extra horsepower.. ie drivetrain etc.
  25. To be honest crimping the connectors is really not a big deal. But I can see how " plug and play" would be much easier. All a case of if you can afford it then buy the one you dont have to play with . Myself - I get a kick out of saving quite a few bucks for what is really very little work
