  1. well there is one question I was going to ask .. that I no longer have to ask I had a plumb back BOV on my pulsar and it was loud as hell .. dont know how they think its supposed to be silent. I was thinking of changing the factory BOV on the Stagea just cause I think they sound kinda nice.. but after reading this I might not. Was just looking for that nice tssshhh noise. not the sound of my old one that sounded like a pidgeon on a megaphone.. " BEEEEOOOOWWW "
  2. yeah its not only stageas.. a few non stageas coming we might or might not be showing up in the stagea.. but will be there regardless bring the ceffy! will be interested to see it!
  3. hee.. no offence but are you asian ? the numbers 888 on the plates mean " I am stinking rich " nice car.. cant wait for ours to arrive! its in brisbane now.. so should see it in a month I have yet to learn all the subtle differences in the S1 and S2 stageas.. but I Will get there eventually.
  4. well . turns out the stagea arrives in Brisbane TODAY .. so . it apparently gets cleaned for 5-7 days.. what do they clean it with ? a toothbrush? then it needs to get complianced ( 1 week or so ? ) then get on a boat over here.. ( WA ) but .. who knows it MIGHT get here in time for the cruise..
  5. did the skyline have cheap tyres and no grip? driven by a myopic orangutan? ahh.. who knows hey? I hear so many of these stories on so many forums if it was the hills ( windy ) and the celica had kick arse suspension and super grippy tyres and the skyline had crap handling and no grip then who knows.
  6. haa. the " scootypuff jr " comment was taken from an Episode of futureama. Basically Fry has to escape the aliens mother ship on a wind up childs toy. thats about as much power as My partners Daewoo Lanos has.. hence its name But its as reliable as the day is long.. so we are not bothering to upgrade it.
  7. count us both in ( Loretta and myself ) at this point 99% sure we will get to the meetpoint in the scootypuff Jr ( as the stagea prob wont be here by then ) and we will probably just meet and greet.. but see how we go I guess.
  8. if you dont have any luck finding someone to do this for you ( and you get desperate ) there is a product on the market called QuickBond ( I think ) made in South Africa. Basically its superglue with a twist! they also supply a filling powder that chemically reacts with the glue. serves to strengthen superglue ( quite brittle on its own ) .. I used some of this to fix up a dash on an old car and it came up pretty well. Quickbond can be had from Repco last time I checked! oh and this information is provided with ALL CARE NO RESPONSIBILITY.. good idea to spot test on a bit you dont see and just see if the plastic reacts badly. the hint they give you of using a bit of masking tape on the other side of the crack to be filled works a treat. Hope that helps!
  9. Don't forget that not all ECU's etc use a Positive voltage to signify a signal on/off for instance on some ECUs pulling a wire to ground makes stuff come on ( ie thermo fans ) so perhaps look at that if you dont have any luck * sorry I know thats not at all directly related to your problem so it may or may not help *
  10. another good cruise is to head up to mundairing and stop off at Little Ceasers Pizza! ( for a late lunch early dinner) do you ( stagea drivers ) ever plan country trips? ie to dwellingup or whatever? camping trips etc are good cause you can get on the booze and not have to worry about driving anywhere.
  11. sorry guys didnt mean to cause trouble ! kristie you can edit out those email addresses as I have them copied and pasted maps on hte way soon ok ?
  12. Kristie I got 2 maps for you.. how shall I get them to you ( would rather not attach it to a post here ) can I just email it to you .. or are you on msn messenger? oh and the 3 dams cruise might be a bit long .. but it covers the Canning / Mundairing and Serpentine dams but I would imagine the stageas are good for long haul driving?
  13. whoops double post ! sorry!
  14. I think I upset whereis.com.au asking it to do a map to rockhampton 4600 odd k's if I remember correctly.
  15. I am just a newbie here.. but .. we ( perth pulsar ) did a "3d cruise " which was basically driving around the hills and visiting the dams. was a really nice day.. lovely scenery up there and some windy bits too. though I dont know how well a 4.8m Station wagon would go around the " zig Zags " but I could arrange to get you a copy of the map if you wanted? Bear in mind the 13th is mothersday.,, so people might have previous engagements. Oh and despite us not HAVING a stagea ( yet) we would love to come along and maybe just chat at one of the meet ponts ? and maybe just catch up with the perth stagea scene or we found a nice picnic spot up at the Churchman brooke dam . .
  16. it just does not make sense that its the turbo after the only thing you changed was the intercooler kit ( you follow me? ) I mean logically it would *have* to be the cooler. Perhaps see if you can borrow another cooler ( or just bypass it temporarily iwth a straight pipe ) and see what happens? I got NO experience with Stageas ( ours is still in Japan ) but just thinking of it logically ,, my money is on the cooler.
  17. try and look for a clamp with " rolled edges" if you can .. apparently they dont chop into your joiners as badly.
  18. those really good clamps cost a fair bit ( like $11 each I think ) usually use allen keys I think? if your able to spend the $$$ then maybe go for heavier duty clamps.. you might also want to check you have not got a split in any of the joiners. If all that fails.. then theorhetically you COULD just bypass the intercooler with a straight bit of pipe temporarily ( OBVIOUSLY dont drive it hard , or for very long.. and definately not on a hot day) but least this would rule out the intercooler as the source of the whistle?
  19. was the brand of the intercooler a reputable one? ( or one that other people you know have used? ) reason I ask is a guy I knew got a " china special " intercooler ( read - CHEAP! ) and that whistled , nothing was wrong with it just a byproduct of dodgy manufacturing ( not saying you DID buy a cheap one .. just a suggestion )
  20. thanks for that photo! it does look the same as the pulsar one just rotated 90 degrees. thats good then I can use my existing consult cable it seems!
  21. guys and gals didnt want to create a new thread to ask the question .. so found some talk of consult ports in here can anyone send me / describe the consult port on a 2000 Stagea? I have a consult cable that I used on my old pulsar and wondering if the pin outs etc are the same? I have calumsult and nissan datascan etc. IT would be great if the consult cable can be used on the stagea too. ( ps I dont actually HAVE the car yet hence why I cant just try it out. Thanks guys.
  22. dont forget you can get those vents that sorta dip INTO the bonnet rather than sitting proud of the bonnet line. We have not taken delivery of our stagea yet but I think its got some pretty nice lines completely un modified. IF you go fora vent just get something with a fairly low profile and get it mounted nice and tidy, the last time I Got a vent fixed up he used something like a glue to mould it onto the Bonnet.. looked the goods! maybe ask around and get someone to do a photoshop for you? good luck matey!
  23. Well the pulsar is SOLD - that means the stagea is a definate. Going to miss the old pulsar .. getting around with 1 car is going to be a pain .. but I will have to grin and bear it and hopefully our importing adventures will end well ! I can now start reading up and Searching on stuff about the new Stagea, ( like where to mount amps etc ) its a WHOLE lotta azz at the back of that car.. so I am sure I will find a spot
  24. ahhh to be honest I am looking forward to driving something more sedate after the 4 puck clutch on the Pulsar. Over that for now.. AWD should be nice too! ( never had a AWD car of my own before.. driven a few )
  25. we currently have it Tee'd up in a place in Brisbane and I am 99% sure we have exhausted our leads here in WA. so I think we got it all ok - the place in bris is doing it for around $3000 ( better than 4400 ) but means we have an extra wait if you could find us a place in perth for $3000 I will mail ya over a carton !
