Yes you would need to run a boost monitor or turbo restrictor, I know the rules may not suit newer Jap cars same as what Duncan has posted above for IPRA class, But if the panel let cars run with no restrictors in type 3 which already is a very hotly contested class and yes V8 win it would probably turn some competitions away or look for somewhere else to run, which they don’t want. It’s always hard to keep everyone happy, my father has been on the Panel for around 10 years I think but has decided not to be on the panel next year as he is not happy with the direction of the new rules like removing outright.

All registrants must demonstrate that they are capable of lapping Eastern Creek in a time of less 2 minutes 15 seconds and Wakefield Park in a time of less than 1 minute 25 seconds in the car to be used in the Championship. Stuart this rule was listed to stop 2 cars showing up that drive around like they are on a Sunday drive to church, not sure if you watch any of the slower cars but if you do you would know who they are and waist every body else track time that we pay for and people got the sh*ts with. Look on Natsoft you will see who they are drive Ford's Everything is for a reason, and there not hard times to beat I have driven a stock R31 skyline around Wakefield in under those times on crapy road tyres.

Stuart, what are your thoughts on cages that are not CAMS legal, like bolt in cusco cages or jap spec ones or alloy in cars that are still road registered, my mates RX7 has a Bonds alloy bolt in cage and road registered wants to run in type 4 up against my R100 sometimes on slicks. Would you say no? This is where the entire problem starts if you said no to him but let my R100 run that has a Bonds alloy cage but was log booked before change over date from CAMS that does not allow alloy cages anymore, will start to turn competitors away. As for the new 4E class for 4wd cars on slicks seems pointless, I really never believed there was a problem with R35 running in 4D, this is for supersprints there is no type 1 and type 2 in the CAMS manual the series dose not run of the CAMS manual it caters for as many cars as possible to get people involved in motorsport, and as for R35 setting record in 4D this year is all good only need someone to turn up in a space frame Sports Sedan and will beat the records set you can’t expect old Datsun 1600 with turbo motors or Toyota Crowns that run in the series to beat them but any space frame car set up will do those times. But most people with space frame sports sedan go racing not enter sprints. As for referring to the people on the CAMS Supersprint Panel as d*)khe#d, you may want to consider they have been updating and changing the rules to suit new comers and as many people to compete in sprints as possible. Not just to keep a few people happy every year that come and go. And the panel members have all been running in or been sprinting since the mid 90’s so you should look back and see why rules have changes like things such as Type SV (for small volume imports and kit cars came about) and what as happen over the last 15 years. And Duncan quick history on the rules of SV I’m sure I have covered this before was originally based to get clubman’s and kits cars out of the other classes likes type 1 and 2 to give cars like MX5 and civics an chance to win the class, this got a lot more entries to each round, also due to some cheating that was happening in the late 90s early 2000’s with people in imports in type 2 advising they have stock boost all small volume imports where moved into SV and given unlimited modifications. SV also catered for cars like hot rods and the JPS Le-mans replica that was road registered that ran for a few years. If you have been running in the sprints for a very long time you would understand all the changes and for what reason.

Just to keep the stupidness going I have plan Neil, you go buy at shitty Suzuki Swift that is road registered still. Stamp the VIN number on your car somewhere and put the number plates on the Radical take one part of the swift and put it on the Radical and you have a Radical Swift Kit Car and can run in SV with the Clubmans. It’s not your Daily drive so it will be fine........ Someone in Bankstown will give you a pink slip every year for $100 to keep is registered.

Look what popped up again! Ok to solve the problem could the R35 GTR stop being driven on the road as daily drivers. You are only allowed to drive them on weekends to race track and put slicks on there to do sub 1:40’s. Duncan (LSX-438) can you please go buy another every day road car to keep the completion fair for others at sprints and do more mods to the R35 as it must only be your weekend car now. This crap is going nowhere lets forget about it......

The insurance company will advised you to get the records yourself from the RTA and you will be advised to provide the insurance company the records. If you fail to do this when requested they will not authorise your claim. If you got nothing to hind should have no worries.

Come on Duncan my thing is a sports sedan, with its race numbers on the side and two tone paint, decked out with leaf spring rear suspension. All of it 200hp, a huge rear wing and its 5 times louder than your road car. So I should be able to win just have to kick everyone fast out of my class.... LOL Only reason I bought the R100 to run in supersprints was it cheaper to run that the GTR and cost a lot less. I would love to go racing with it but can’t afford it so Im one of those people that bring a full on race car to sprints just to have some fun. But doing 1:07 around Wakefeild Park in 40 year car on slicks is not to shabby.

supercar has a greater weight due to the safety built in like airs bags and triple panel structural sections from high grade strengthen steel. To knock my light weight race car with roll cage out the way and the supercar can keep going.......... Had to make some crap up LOL, it’s funny how this topic dose keep popping up on different forums.

Its an on going topic that pops up in NSW Supersprint every few months, just seems to keep coming back and wont go away....................

Cannot base it on cars capable of doing 300kph that would be pointless, needs to be based by lap time if anything. Could have a car that is capable of doing 300kph on slicks that may lap slower than someone in a worked Honda Civic running slicks and no cage as well so why would the 300kph car need a cage and the Civic dose not? At the end of the day if a 300kph supercar hit the wall at high speed on slicks as it laps 10 seconds a lap quicker than my Mazda R100 that is CAMS approved with an alloy roll cage and let’s face it’s not a strong car made from fibreglass who would be more likely to be hurt. I would say me in the Mazda, the 300kph car is quicker in a straight line but corner speeds are not far off, So even basing it on lap times would be hard to say who dose and doesn’t need a roll cage. And if we are only talking about club level Supersprint lap dashes only, my answer would be NO for no cage, it will upset and annoy a lot of people if we need to put roll cages into our road cars, I will never fit one to my GTR just to do the odd Supersprint or lap dash. Motorsport in dangerous we all know this, and yes if you have a big crash while doing a Supersprint you may get hurt. But we don’t plan on doing that and hope it never happens. Yes you need a roll cage when your racing in a race like sports sedan or Irace, as you spend a lot more time on the race track than someone just doing sprints so more likely to have crash. That’s how I see it.

Great work on the photos boys! Sorry couldn’t hang around all night would have loved to get some shots of our R32 GTR with the see through bonnet look they look fantastic and how do you do that? Bianca was trying her best but was getting very sleepy after a big day and 39 weeks pregnant and still had to drive back to the Southern Highlands. Will have to arrange another time with you Matt to do some of those shots at night. Look forward to seeing all the shots.

Anyone know where to buy a brake calliper piston compression tool? The ones they use on Group A cars at Bathurst in the 90's with the long handles, or where they all home made things. Not sure if curret V8 super cars still use them im sure they do. Will make one if I can’t find them for sale but this is one for sale in the US but not the type I wanted.

Ok looks like Saturday the 30th October will be the day, should we try and meet around 4pm somewhere gives photographers time to set up and make sure no one late. Not sure if we want to get to many cars showing up all ready 4 different models in different colours, Doing a all white GTR another day would make more sense and gives more time to take photos of the 4 GTR showing up. Well that’s more thoughts anyway As for meeting spot please keep location to pm’s don’t want to attract too much attention. Steven R34 will be running around on trade plates.
-
Ok looks like we can all make that weekend, now Sat or Sunday arvo? what suits people the best.
-
Here's a image of Steven Blue R34 all stock V specII Nur will get the number plate mounted on the car in the correct spot, and one of Duncan's R35 will have no stickers on the car at the photo shoot.

Kory let me know when you do another photoshoot for some of these cars, Will bring my Red R32 GTR, can bring Duncan's silver R35 (will have to ask him but will make him bring it) the Blue R34 above and need to find a white R33 GTR so we can do a 4 car shoot of all the GTR lined up for this calendar... and i would like a copy for my wall at home. Oh and i like this idea "I think an awesome shot would be all the GTR-32X (X being a letter). So far i've seen at least 10 cars with these plates!"
