Nulon Nationals Round 3 - Final Drag Battle!
GTR32G replied to 34GeeTeeTee's topic in New South Wales
Would have gone down if the team needed me to, but i think the SAU team selected would beat my R35 im only good for low 11's. maybe a high 10 with E85 as its set up for WTA. Not sure what the other R35 from the HSV club is doing only 13.6? Should be in the 11's easily -

Great to hear the team done well -
I always drive at 80% Nick so my lap times and driving style should be the same in timed to passenger sessions

Loving the variety of cars entering. Now I don't feel out of place in the Corvette, Love the little Exige what engine you got in it?

In regards to Clubmans or closed wheel sports cars running I have no problem with them as my bother has a Turbo PRB Clubman. I have always told him not to enter our track days as most guys will not see him due to the size difference and expect the car to be that quick, He dose 58sec at SMSP south track and has had many close calls at events where bigger car don't see him and pull across hence why the CAMS Supersprints Series don't let them run with sedans and they have their own group. More than happy they join our track day just make sure they are switched on drivers and can understand when strapped in a race car I have very little rear viability so don't put your place I may not see you

R34 Vs R35 - Not School Holidays Yet, This Is Not What You Think.
GTR32G replied to No Crust Racing's topic in R35 GTR
You can drive the R35 in full manual of the paddle shifts like a manual car, just don't have a clutch. If I was buying a car around the price of a used r35 for street use only I would be getting a C6 Corvette Z06 or a Dodge Viper. Looks like a super car sounds great and makes you smile when you put your foot down. both are easy to maintain and service yourself unlike a Ferrari 360 that is in that price range. -

My car runs 375kw on BP ultimate and 415kw on United E85 on 16psi power is at all 4 wheels. cost for all power upgrades is under 10k with a ecu upgrade and transmission cooler. If your only going to use it for road the stock suspension is perfect I still ran on the track for one and half years till i put coilovers in. Buying an R35 for street use only seems pointless to me defiantly if your going to do a few mods and have 400kw. Its drivers perfect and smooth on the street but good luck keeping a licence. Its hard to explain but if I wanted a fun road car I would not buy a R35 for that purpose. its not boring to drive on the street but you have to be doing over the double to speed limit to make it feel like your going fast... -

R34 Vs R35 - Not School Holidays Yet, This Is Not What You Think.
GTR32G replied to No Crust Racing's topic in R35 GTR
Have driven both on a race track and hands down you should buy a R35. Parts are getting a lot cheaper for them now and a lot of info out there to modify them but little is required. Im running a Haltech ECU, 16psi, e85, coil overs, whiteline sway bars, HKS transmission cooler and doing 63.2sec around Wakefield on Formular R tyres. You will need to spend a lot of money to get a R34 to do that and be reliable, Best thing is the r35 still feels so nice driving on the road and wife takes the kids to day care in the it still as its so smooth to drive. As an all round fun car you can not beat an r35, and if you want to drive them sideways they can drift just as good as any old school awd gtr just turn the traction control off and hang on. -
Have copied your add on the r35 Sydney facebook page what is your number so people can call you?
-
If R35 prices dropped to 70k, good R34 GTR would need to be selling for under 40k. used car market on performance cars is based on bang for your buck as well. Will be a few years till it gets to that price in my opinion.

Tyre company dose not have to pay or discount the cost for the tyres, find a sponsor that will buy you a set of tyres and put their stickers on the car. Due to the exposure that world time attack gets sponsors are more then happy to get on board to advertise. Some are not I do get a lot of no's, but you can only ask. Most of the guys are more than happy to help out where they can even if its small like $200 items they give you. I have got my entry paid for, tyres are paid for, Workshop dose tuning for free, Whiteline have supplied products for the car for free. Got a place to supply a HANS device to advertise on the car. Also have good discounts on other parts on the car. -

May need to start a new 2014 WTA topic....
-
I don't think it was a scam, i have run with the guys trying to get this event of the ground at WTA they ran a Supra for a few years. Like most other time attack events they struggle for entires apart from WTA. Vic time attack was cancelled due to lack of entries and NSW time attack had about 40 or so entires so nothing to rave about. Hopefully they can get it together next year will make the trip up to have some fun.

Once entries open for next year i will post up how to apply with details usally starts first week in December and is full by early January. Cost $50 to register for the series.

Just got back from the dyno for the e85 upgrade and tune, may get their a bit early on Thursday as its open track day and do a few laps get use to the extra 45kw I have now, coil overs that need some setting up. -
First off have you registered for the CAMS Supersprint Series? if you have not all ready to wont get in they are not accepting any more regiatrations they are full. In type 3 you will need to run a boost monitor or have turbo restrictor and will be checked, There is no log book category for Type 6 Time Attack this is just a class for extensively modded cars that already have Cams Log book. Your best options is to log book as 3D Sports Sedan and run in Type 4 on slicks or Type 6 on semi slicks
