  1. YES that is finger print dust all over it but car should have been cleaned up by now, the running gear should be ok just been sitting around for 6 months or so.
  2. Hi Guys, only posting this for some looking for a cheap GTR. This is not my car but Just Car Insurance has sent this car to Pickles Auctions as the owner has been paid out and then the car was found. Here's the link for images: http://www.pickles.com.au/damaged/vehicle/...lotid-202103955 Gose for auction on 1/4/2009 Car only had ignition damage and both door windows paited black from the inside.
  3. Just watched the youtube link, looks like the race befor you must of drop some oil looks like alot of cement dust up to turn 4.. Didnt seem the worry you.. great work!!!
  4. Well done on the great wins! All the best for the rest of this year, Hope you can bring a championship home... Cheers Brian
  5. So if you think the rules were changed to stop someone winning all the time and CAMS have admitted to this, that’s fine with me... Just like i have said before Super Lap has its own rules and stops cars from entering, They stopped the Group A R32 GTR cars from winning by adding weight to them to make the racing more competitive, They don’t let all cars race at Bathurst for the 12hour, it’s to keep the sport closer and give others a chance to win. The Cams Superspirnts can make their own rules to suit most of the competitors running and gives people with modified road cars or basic level race cars a chance to win?
  6. I may be wrong as i dont really know how long Michelle has been doing motorsport for but i think i read somwhere 2 years, i know Neil has been around for a few years has had a Capri Sport Sedan that he ran in the Supersprint Chapionship befor the radical, the Championship is made for people who do this for a hobby you can call it grassroots if you want? but rocking up in a $50,000 - $100,000 or alot more perpose built race car that was made to race only is far from grassroots, yes you can run a V8 supercar or Porsche cup car but once again most people dont buy these types of cars for a hobby "grassroots" unless you plan on going places in motorsport. I know you can spend a $150,000 on a R35 GTR and could win but once again would be somones road car and doing superspinting as a hobby. if it was a full on race car R35 i sure they would be running at likes of Targa and such and not worry about supersprinting it.
  7. I don’t know why you say the rules are WRONG, there been like this for a while now. No offence to the drivers Neil and Michele you are driving your cars to at the level you wish to drive at, it’s better than pushing the car hard and not being able to control it and ending up in the wall, you can correct me if i am wrong Michele but if your car is a Formula Holden as Beer Baron has said it lap record is 1.02 at Oran Park GP, you can’t expect to come to a super sprint and a run over 10seconds or more a lap slower than car can go and thinks it’s fair to say you should be the NSW Cams Supersprint Champion doing it, Its fine if you want to show up and do a few sprint and test the car and learn how to drive it and move on to racing somewhere, but this is Supersprinting, like others have said its a starting point for drivers, street cars or people who can’t afford to go racing and do this as a hobby. I myself am rebuilding a old Mazda sports sedan to run all up cost me under $15,000 and plan to run the car on a yearly budget of $4000- $5000, I hope to be able to get the thing in the top ten to run for outright, I am not trying to be a smart ass about it but my budget for the year would go as far as you ending up in a sand trap and ripping the front spoiler off, the rest of the outright cars running in the series would be all like me running on a budget as a hobby, so the rules suit 97% or the people running and is a close Championship, And yes you can go buy a R35 GTR and will cost a bit and if driven hard will beat Clubmans and Sports Sedan but this would still be some ones road car and doing it as a hobby. And if you think the NSW State series rules are fixed to suit clubmans or who ever, why don’t people cry over the Super Lap rules where you can’t enter a clubman or kit car or rear engine car over 4 cylinders? So is Super Lap fixed to suit Jap Cars? I think the rules are good makes for close competition just like the top ten in Supersprint now. I think at the end of the day everyone will have their own thoughts on this and if you try and get the rules changed will be interesting how you go, But i would be surprised if they changed them to suit 3 people of the 120 or more cars running. May be they will make a new Outright Series for perpose built race cars for the radical and all open wheel cars. and the others can have there own Championship as well?
  8. You may want to have a look at the results again, i cant see where its a Clubman Championship, there was 2 clubmans in the top ten, the other finished 8th outright, 4 Evo, 1 WRX and 1 GTR, 1 Commodore and a Honda Civic, to me its a good mix all with in 1 second, looks like most of the outright cars are import 4WD.
  9. I was not running my GTR out there i think you where looking at Jason Hay Maroon car, I will try and bring my GTR out for the next round, if i have some spare cash as im trying to finish my Mazda Sports Sedan.
  10. If you are a clubman type car or kit car has the be road registered to run for outright, yes you can run on slicks in type 4 but all these cars need to be production based sport sedans or or cars from types 1-3 and cars in SV that have decided to run on slicks.
  11. I think you may be wrong there i know im backing up my old man but last year was very close at times, Jason with his WRX beat my old man quite a few times, and so did other cars in SV and type 4, you have to still remember we are still road registered and on DOT tyres, look at the results from the weekend, if you take out the 2 type 5 cars for outright as per the series rules the top 10 cars were all with in 1 second, so it will make the whole championship a close battle this year. I call that a good battle. I think to run for outright in the State sereis the cars has to be based on a production type car.
  12. The rules have been like these for a few years now and you would have know befor you entered, If you dont like them done run, You Still get the FTD for the day and will get a trophy for that, just arnt allowed to get points for the outright for types 1-4 and type SV. not trying to bag you Michele i think the State Rounds will get more people running with road cars and race car wanting to win outright that just a big open wheeler wanting it.
  13. Thats right you can go buy the R35 GTR and run slicks in type 4 as a sports sedan but i belive you would need a roll cage and CAMS log book or be road registered to do so. I think the NSW Championship is more for the road going race cars and sports sedans, thats why i rebuilding an old mazda sports sedan to run, I know a whileback a few open wheels would rock up do one run take FTD and that leave for the day "knock off a tall poppy"... or more than lightly blow up on the track and spill oil every where, dont get me wrong i think its great that open wheels run and was good to see your car go with out shitting itself like most others that turn up, And if a clubman type car runs needs to be road registered to run for outright.
  14. and my old man and brother..
  15. some more again..
  16. Well done Michele for FTD, and Neil well done for 2nd, my old man finished 3rd but thats right still get 1st as hes road registered and on DOT tyres. Our times where a bit off front tyres not doing there job suffering understeer. Il Post up some pic of the day i took wondering around.
  17. Yes its round 1 of the CAMS State round, il be out there as my old man is running the turbo PRB and brother running a EVO, iv entered the my GTR in the State series but not running as im trying to save money to finish my Mazda Sports sedan that i will have out middle on the year. Il come say hi to you gurglr.
  18. Have 6 Toyo Proxes RA1 205/55/16, tread range left between 30-70% Would get a few track days out of them still. Price: $100 for all 6 Pick up from Sydney Hills area or Condell Park. Pm if intrested with contact number and I will call you back when i can.
  19. Risking, I can see how that would work, i can say im a fan of it, but every one would be in the same boat as change overs go and droping time, dummy grid at wakefield would be very very busy place with 30 cars trying to move in and out all the time and racing for it.
  20. It would be great to see this event have a full grid after the Eastern Creek 6 hours has suffered over the last few years getting number, but i think letting cars without roll cages and not full CAMS licences will fill the grid up but could be a little dangerous. Something else i would like to know if anyone knows, how they will run this event yet a Wakefield, Where are all the cars going be held, after running teams for over 5 years in the AROCA 6 hour eastern creek has enough garages and room behind the garage to get cars ready, to explain to people who don’t understand the car with the Velcro sash is on the track, you have the next car ready to go out sitting in the pit garage always ready to go just in case the car on the track brakes down or crashes, or once that car is low on fuel needs to pit you pull the sash of the car coming in and send out the next car. There should already be another car already in the garage also ready as the car that just left the pits could have a problem, this means you always need 2 cars sitting in 1 garage waiting to go, and have access threw the rear of the garage to bring another car in all the time, then when it’s one of those days when its wet and dry and you want to have car on dry racing tyres and one on wets you need 3 cars in the garage. I don’t see Wakefield with this much room and if the team is not set up to run like this you can lose a lap or even drop 1 minute very easy waiting for the next driver to get ready or wait for them to come through the back of the pits to get out on the track. And there goes the all the times and your screwed. Please let me know if some else has another way of running the cars if you have run other events like this? I do hope this event dose work as I would like to do it, but i will watch for the first year to see how it all runs.
