I looked into fitting one to my R32 GTR few years back and it looked odd due the tank sits lower in the R32 the diffusers hangs down and you still see the petrol tank, best to custom make one from alloy sheets for the cost of a R34 GTR rear diffuser.

I wasn’t planning on finding the grass at 210kph that is what happens when another driver does not see you going up the inside of them and moves over on you. Just got a bit sideways and went on the grass to avoid an accident. All was ok the other driver did apologise after that, they did not predict the R35 gains so much down the straight and didn’t think I would be there at that time. Did make for an exciting ride and entry into turn 2 trying to pull it up. More photos of the day would be good to see....

Im doing the SM1000 in the R35 will see you there,

They are a great car macdog well done on the new ride. Keep an eye on the rear mounting points for the rear suspension I have seen 3 of them while assessing cars that have the rear boot floor torn next to the rear rails and they had low KM. Just pull the rear boot carpet out and check the floor every so often.

Hiroaki can you please translate the Japan time attack rules for aero and chassis design. I would be very interested to read them. Hopefully we can use them as a base for time attack here. -

Has anyone got any images of Nemo on a fast lap mid corner, i would love to see the tyre sidewall flex from the load its under. Anyone know how much tyre pressure you have to run in tyres with cars with so much aero or dose it not effect the tyre in that way? -

Nev first of all I have to say well done on the lap time, it is very impressive lap time for a harder track compound tyre. In my eyes it’s not only the flares being the problem, you had a large alloy rear diffuser hanging out the back a front carbon splitters and canards. But you were not the only one with these mods this year or previous years. The way most of us read the rules you can’t use these items in clubsprint and this will be enforced a lot next year after what happened if I have anything to do with it. After going over the clubsprint cars we could have thrown around 10+ cars out of the class due to not complying with the rules. -

Forgetting to put hose clamps on breather hoses was the first problem with oil going every where, the 2nd problem looked to be an oil line on the turbo lose or came off which resulted in this.... -

Yes the mounts were mig’d directly to the rear qtr’s on the EVO although it did look rough that point was quite strong compared to other just bolting to the boot lid. If that was a genuine APR wing I would not buy one of that model in my life time, material quality seemed quite bad and well below what I would expect from APR…. Here is an image of the broken section: I’m no expert in aero but been in motorsport for 16 years and was happy to volunteer my time to try and make a difference to make the event safer, we could not send people home unless it was deemed very unsafe as there is no requirements to mounting aero in WTA, but have talked to a lot of entrants who know this will change next year and will be enforced. Anyone else wanting to help out next year would be appreciated it’s hard to keep on top of everyone when they are modifying aero over the weekend and not representing the car for scrutineering. -

EVO-GSR I was a pit lane official there...plenty of poorly fitted aero cars made it out on track that I saw over the 2 days.....???? Yes correct there is some poorly fitted aero on cars, but you have to deem if it’s very unsafe not to let them run. I had lot of chats with guys with aero that needs to be mounted better in the future and even made around 5 cars remove their rear wings if they want to run or re-design mounts and recheck them once that was done. I know of one wing failure on track were the carbon blade broke not to do with mounting point looked like a cheap eBay wing, and even stoped cars running today due to stress cracks appearing on them and one was the Panspeed RX8. Any cars you would like to mentions that caught your attention would be interested to know…. -

The rules are clear : Vehicle Modifications All Vehicles must be presented as manufactured unless stated below. Body • All convertible type vehicles must be equipped with a hard top or a roll cage that complies with AASA Standing Regulations. • The use of a Carbon or FRP Bonnet and Rear Wing is permitted. • The use of an FRP Front Bar, Rear Bar, Side Skirts and Bonnet is permitted. • Carbon and FRP Guards, Doors, Boot Lids and Roofs are NOT permitted, unless fitted as OEM equipment from the manufacturer. Nowhere does it state you can have bolt on flares, alloy or carbon rear diffusers, carbon front splitters, carbon canards ect. For some reason people find this hard to understand or just dont care about the rules, the call from WTA today was if you want to run at the front make sure your car complies with the rules or action will be taken if a protest is lodge and money paid. I will wait to see what outcome WTA take with the protest before I comment anymore..... -

I was one of the scrutineers there and the job was to check saftey and crack down on poorly fitted aero. -
Sadly even though it’s just a rental removal van that could have dents or damage on other areas the agreement on hire would be to repair back to pre accident condition so unless it has poor repairs on the sections that was damaged in this accident the insurance ombudsmen would agree with the quote. If you chose not to pay for the damages now the rental company will go through their insurance get it assessed and repaired and you will end up with a letter of demand to pay. You can take it to the insurance ombudsmen if you don’t think the quote is fair but I don’t like your chances.
