  1. did you check the resistance across the contacts of the relay was the new relay a brand new one, are all your crimped connections good thats all i could think of
  2. changed plugs (old plugs came out totally black), ecu, haven't tried old coils but I would think it unlikely that all the new ones stuffed up at once, I might start looking for an ignitor module any ideas on much much they are from nissan? anyone know if these can be tested by anyone?
  3. i had same problem when i put my highflow cat/exhaust on, it would boost creep to about 14 psi or so. the wastegate is to small on the stock turbo i pulled it off and used a die grinder to enlarge it a bit which dropped the boost to about 9psi
  4. anyone have an igniter module for r33 lying around i think mine is dead, would be great if someone had one I could whack on to check if thats the problem.
  5. didn't change plugs as they only had a couple of thousand k's on them pulled them out and they looked ok. the plugs are coppers with 0.8 gap. bought series 2 ecu by accident was told it was jap tuned ecu by ebay seller, chucked it in and learned pretty quick that it wasn't I didnt bother changing ecu's back (someone told me it wouldn't matter) and I bought a PFC and was going to get it tuned pretty soon witch was why i got the new coils.
  6. its a series one mods are only turbo back exhaust, intercooler and 12 psi boost
  7. I put new coils in last week (JJR) and yesterday car (series 1 R33) started running like a dog as soon as the car starts making boost it misfires to the point it almost stalls, back off and it runs perfect again, it idles perfect as well, was thinking maybe my ignition module was stuffed any ideas? it was running the series 2 ecu as well (not sure if that matters) I chucked in my PFC and problem was still there.
  8. you can call me a bogan then
  9. isn't it illegal to whack a after market turbo on to??? why worry about the boost controller.... But yeah stock boost solenoid just opens and bleeds air from the actuator at a set RPM by the ecu (5000 RPM or something) I think what you said is feasible. what you could possibly do is use a t-piece in place of the solenoid and play around with the size of the hole (fill 1 hole on tee piece with solder and use drill to adjust hole size) on the bleed part of the tee then just plug it back into the stock location when done if that makes any sense. (sounds dodgey hey) Just throwing ideas your way.
  10. hmmm maybe someone took mine out, it had a pod on it when i bought it, definitely nothing in there like a spring. I might give the steel pipe insert a crack for something to do
  11. um there isn't any steel reinforcement in my rubber intake pipe... is this mod worth worrying about if I'm only running 12psi???
  12. i got a hertz 15" and it cranks hard!!! maybe to hard i'm going deaf free bump
  13. yeah mine doesn't light up very evenly either maybe LED's is the solution
  14. i agree safc+rsm cheap and effective
  15. i went pfc but safc will be fine but no speed cut maybe get a safc2 and a speed cut defencer to save on cost from what ive read emanage ultimate is a very good piggyback if you find the right tuner to install they are like 800 + 500 for tune which is far less than the 1500 + 500 for a pfc
  16. emanage ultimate
  17. cant tell you power increase becuase I havent had it tuned yet (will come in the next couple of weeks) but im expecting about 200 rwkw on the stock turbo with supporting mods. Tune is 500 bucks so not cheap but im expecting a decent incease over the entire rev range plus if i do more mods like airflow meter injectors turbo all i will have to do is retune
  18. safc wont remove speed cut just allows you to alter airflow meter voltages (correct me if i'm wrong), you can get a new neo for like 400 (ebay) but should be able to get an safc2 for 300 second hand if you look about
  19. Id plan for the future so you dont have to spend money twice. I wouldn't bother with the fuel cut defender you would be better off with an safc as you can use it too tune AF ratios
  20. i believe so if your planning on tracking it maybe chuck a lock bar in the back and just cut the wire will cost you like 100 bucks for a bar and 50 something for an alignment....... ..just an idea
  21. depends on how much money you have to spend, if you have a few mods id go for an ecu upgrade and kill 2 birds with 1 stone. I bit the bullet and just got a pfc.
  22. you want something like this if your really keen http://www.nengun.com/hks/speed-limit-defencer also heard of people cutting wire 53 on the ecu other options power fc, emange ultimate etc
  23. fuel cut defender isn't for removing speed limit its for clamping airflow meter voltage to avoid hitting R&R i'm pretty sure. My 33 hit about 200 before the cut.
