  1. I use the high pressure hose but from maximum distance - I never use the brushes because 4wd owners have a tendency to scrub mud off with those brushes and not rinse them - that aside, the brushhairs are rather coarse and can scratch the better paintjobs out there... in either case, i've found that elbow grease of some sort is required... i use the pre-soak at dazzlers, wipe it down with a chammois to get rid of the brake dust, exhaust dust and assorted grit then the soapy high pressure hose, and use a flannel with either some degreaser or bam to get rid of the stuff that is stuck to the paint... then i rinse it down, apply a hot wax and then rinse it off with the spot free finish its very frustrating when your paint flakes (and it can happen with a hand wash too) but from what I've read, most japanese based resprays are done on the cheap because the owner is simply trying to get rid of the car -D
  2. Same thing happened to mine, took it to dazzlers after I'd got it... it had a couple of existing chips but when the sprayer hit them they flaked open I wouldn't naturally assume its the ex owner, could have easily been someone in japan or any prior owner.. -D
  3. yiap definately sounds like heater core/hose leading to heater core -D
  4. yeah was definately a good race - ending was mental -D
  5. Are you 100% sure its a gasket? Sounds like one of the hoses leading to your heater core has split. I had this same problem earlier in the year. Will cost a bit in labour depending on your engine and how easy it is to get to said hose... If your gasket had deteriorated you'd probably be finding a bad color in your exhaust due to coolant in the cylinder head... Boostworx or John @ Southern Hitech can help you if you're down south, Gil @ Road & Track can do it if you're up north -D
  6. Well I guess I'll be keeping this stock steering wheel handy hah -D
  7. Shit. I have a nardi too. But then again R32 GTRs never had air bags... maybe that means I'd get away with it -D
  8. i suspect in the 2 years that theyve worn - the exhaust was fitted properly - this was back when I still had the 3.5" kakimoto that was on it when i bought it off you. because of that, i switched to a twin pipe junbl sidebyside cannon setup, which wasnt fitting correctly on the trip to another place, but I dont think you were there for that - inspite of the junbl's not being mounted correctly, they still scraped less than that kakimoto (the muffler was massive)... and even tho theyre now mounted correctly, I still get scrapage around the side street speed humps... thats even slowing down to 10kph... ill see what waynes teins are like and if I have to, start saving up for nismos that scandy suggested ... however I suspect because the suspension is nismo, it'll cost me 2 kidneys to afford.. -D
  9. can I ask what steering wheel you had and what reason theyve given for it being illegal? -D
  10. *points to trader rating* and sled knows where i live haha -D
  11. ahh brew ur twisting my arm eh brew ok, are they off your car? I might see if my mechanic can fit it next week for me to test - I'll take it to and from loxton with your permission -D
  12. i got hit with that bullshit last week when i went to the lemon lime thai cafe in gouger last week $34 for being parked in a so called permit zone for 30 minutes. pricks. -D
  13. would be nice, but i need something thats street legal - got any tips on something that a) rides nice on the street b) is legal (or can be engineered) c) is firm enough to handle well d) doesnt bottom out I got bilsteins atm but theyre the basic version (and probably getting long in the tooth) If it wasn't an issue of legality I'd just buy the ISC coilovers and be done with it -D
  14. if i had stiffer suspension it wouldnt bottom out. these bilstiens, while being hard compared to std shocks, are spongy writeoff can attest that when i was going to moonta last year, we'd hit a dip and my entire exhaust would bottom out on the tarmac and shoot a tonne of sparks, so much so that it ripped apart one of the welds on my muffler its not about how low it is, its about how the ride height interacts with the suspension - i'd be fine if I had totally stiff suspension but thats not the case -D
  15. no i took it off because i kept scraping driveways and speed humps and the like and i was damaging the shit out of it as it is I had to get it bogged and sanded in many places its going on for the riverland show, and then it'll come straight off until I can get some replacement suspension that increases my ride height by at least a cm if not 2 -D
  16. hahah @ sleds ban list yeah I did mention in the post that its getting spray painted atm ;P -D
  17. Got the car back after getting the hubs painted and the calipers powder coated... also had my spoiler mounted again and took the front spoiler lip to get prepped for the riverland show... some pix Few more touch ups required on the boot, the bonnet and the drivers door and a couple tiny dents on the passenger side. Not much more to go.. -D
  18. take it you've got adjustable suspension and a wheel less than 350mm in diameter? good excuse for you to get that cage engineered -D

  24. Was good to meet a few new faces and many old ones props to Luke and Steve for putting on a good shindig - venue was great, function room was awesome and the food was a1 first time I've seen a booking for any venue actually have more people rock up than were booked for - by my count it was +1 for sled and the staff found another seat well quickly (service was pretty good there - food came out very quickly) oh yeah and for those that care, the beef schnitty with mushroom sauce was pimp. I even managed to finish the entire thing this time -D
