  1. Yes I was stupid enough. This douchebag had a website and was recommended by the f**kheads who manufactured the product ffs. www.voitech.com.au is the scumbag who rorted me, runcore.com are the guys who made the drive. I reported his fraud to the manufacturer who tried to chase it up and found that they were unable to contact 'voitech'. So they made solidstatedigital their aussie distributor. ended up ordering the drive thru them and got what i wanted, but im still $220 out of pocket because of these f**king arsehats who recommended me buy off an internet conman. Someone is going to pay, I dont give a goddamn if its voitech or runcore, but I'll pursue this until someone feels my boot in the seat of their pants. The speed issue is exactly why i upgraded to an ssd. the 16gb ssd is the removable one. I replaced it with a 32gb runcore module that has 20x faster write and at least 10x fast reads - the writes are the key when running any OS that relies upon a swap file and many i/o transactions (ala windows). I run my 4gb drive with Fedora Linux v11.0 32gb drive runs XP, and is as fast as any ssd on the market. Spend around $1k on my eee 901. Every upgrade was worth it. -D Edit - fyi thats 4gb primary ssd - fedora 11 32gb secondary aftermarket ssd - fedora 11 swapfile (4gb - appropriate for 2gb ram), + 28gb windows xp partition 16gb type6 SD card - more than enough for pics, music and movies +2gb simm replacing 1gb simm. result? Asus eee 901 with 52gigs of solid state storage, a bluetooth mouse, usb dvb-t tuner that works under linux and windows, and hdd's with the latency comparable to an entry level desktop pc. there is nothing this eee 901 can't do for business users (it wont play doom3, big deal eh?) and if I had another $200 spare I'd buy the touchscreen kit for the 901 -D
  2. But its Fraud. Fraud is qualified via several different checks, including misrepresentation (which is the basis for most criminal claims). Its not investigated by police unless you are out of pocket. In my case, Im out of pocket $240. The amount is irrelevant, if you lose money via a transaction, it can be investigated by police and if sustained, elevated to criminal charges. I agree that police don't have anything to do with civil suits, however we do have a minimal level of protection in regards to people who enter into a business agreements in a 3 stage part - a) they advertise a good or service b) consumer decides to enter into transaction and hence pays advertiser moneys. c) goods or services do not match quoted item. In this case, he has purchased goods himself and had them shipped to said mechanic. Said mechanic is under the legal obligation to explain what happened to n1 block and why engine was not built with n1 block. the fact a single piece of hardware has not been accounted for is basis for fraud. It can be done. I'm not saying it'll be cheap, but say that you're on the dole and someone rorts you - you have legal aid automatically and it wont cost you a damn thing to pursue the matter. Otherwise you talk to a lawyer that works for percentages and test your luck. Im not saying there are any golden rods of justice, however if you dig deep enough there are always avenues to pursue. -D
  3. Any transaction which results in a loss of capital regardless of source involves the police on the fundamental basis of misrepresentation I have a case against a dickhead in NSW who was supposed to supply me with an SSD for my eee 901. Its taken 2 months to progress from SAPOL to NSW police, but progress is being made. Cops will touch it, however your success rate depends on a load of things - I would have preferred to attack via the accc/consumer affairs but since the guy running the website doesnt advertise services in nsw, the nsw ombudsman cant do a damn thing. Consumer affairs are largely castrated when it comes to matters of the internet, thats why they refer it to the local police under the statute of cybercrime. local divisions report it to cid in the city who then run prelim investigation and then forward on to the local authorities i doubt i'll see my money back, but if i can get the bugger fined, or his website taken off the net then I'll be happy. And yes, I am a vindictive pos. -D
  4. oh shoot, the mad bastards did infact post my comment (haha im on a roll) http://www.news.com.au/adelaidenow/comment...5006301,00.html -D
  5. Sipping some nice spirits here and I get bored. Reading the news.com.au's report on the weather front makes me laugh Bureau of Meteorology says 95kph. News.com.au decides 'f**kit lets add 20%' and says 120kph Love it how they embellish EVERY story to get more clicks, thankfully its not just car owners... I just posted this : |The storms are actually a by product from car hoons doing burnouts at lower light (Mike Rann told me so). I have a solution. We should crush low pressure fronts and make mother nature do community service for every window cracked by hail. Time to put a stop to weather hoons like mother nature, enough is enough. save the murray and the porpoise, can we not coexist in peace?" I wonder if they publish it. They published my diss of them in the hoon poll but if u notice, theyve removed the comments section from the hoon website. Ahh gotta love being able to filter out the inconvenient truth. And by doing so, they just made my rant 100% true. Gotta love the recursive irony in that. -D
  6. I dunno about you guys, but if some scumbag fobbed me off with cheaper parts that I know I'd paid for, I'd be hunting the son of a bitch down... At the very least you should go to the police and report him for fraud/misrepresentation and ask that they spread the details to all states and request an arrest warrant when he touches back in Aus. He can run, but he can't hide. -D
  7. guffaw -D
  8. Wow. They actually posted my midnight drunken rant about journalists being pissweak and having no integrity. Hah. Win. -D
  9. Poor form to advertise this before talking to SAU mods. Disappointed. -D
  10. FS 2nd hand MWB brand (japanese) boss kit to suit nardi/momo steering wheels. NOT hicas compatible - suitable for anyone who has a hicas lock bar or non hicas car. Has a crack in the surround which had been repaired before I got it but the glue has come away from it. $20 or trade for a few longnecks of beer -D
  11. Just went for a boot up the highway dodgy 444 injectors were replaced with 555's on tues... broken boss kit removed today and stock skyline steering wheel fitted. no diagnostic mode with bosskit. removal of bosskit and fitting of stocker. diagnostic mode ran, rear wheels having a spazzo moment 5 error codes retrieved instantly from hicas controller. codes reset. 30 km drive. no errors. rtb. everything put back together. i then take it on the highway and it starts handling stupendously good. i crack wood chuck a hicas u turn using the dual roundabouts on the crafers overpass... no more sqealing from incorrect rear toe in summary: the dickhead who owned my car in japan decided that the nardi wheel 'look foory sik' and decided to put a pov spec boss controller that doesnt support hicas on. he gets sick of the hicas LED coming on the dash, so like any genius would, he just removes the bulb.. comes to me and i replace the globes in my dask with led's 18 mths ago and I start to twig that the red light that just started appearing has something to do with the fact the the car tramlines over 80kph but only within the first 25 minutes of driving (before the light comes on) why has it taken me so long? Because every dickhead says 'just get a lock bar, duh'. but i like hicas. its quite useful if you're not a psycho kamikazee dori head that and i thought the solution lied in getting a conzult program that would pull hicas codes. sad to say the only software that can pull hicas codes from an r32 is actually made for a 300zx and costs $500 for the software alone. i even tried using a hex-terminal to send the init codes to the hicas controller manually i could get an OK from the init string but never figured out how to make sense of the gibberish that came out when i switched the channel to 'all sensors streaming' so. a $50 steering wheel has simply proven that i have a dodgy arse boss kit. f**k. thats all i have to say about that. -D
  12. True indeed. Unlike BMW's trademark kidney grille, the traditional volvo diagonal stripe cant help marketing for years theyve been known as having very safe, economical cars. ugly, not sexy, shitty handling, etc but it seems theyre reinventing themselves.. quite admirable.. i was in a volvo turbo 5 yrs ago and was quite impressed with its performance vs noise but when the owner told me how much he paid, i completely banished it from memory -D
  13. Just my 2c but I could never drive a car that sounds like female genitalia, no matter how dope it looked (and those pics do make the wang pay attention, but such a terrible brand name) -D

  20. thx for the heads up, but it seems like he only does web based stuff ;\ ideally i'd like to find someone in adelaide where we can get the bushes tomorrow and do the install otherwise i guess i'd have to deal with the web so it'd be worth dealing with him i guess its a shame he has no mob number -D
  21. Anyone know where I can get bushes for the rear upper control arms and tie rod ends? My mechanic rang nissan who told him that they only sell the rods with the bushes O.o Also after a fuel filler cable/handle set with mounting brackets -D Edit - only posting here because the work is going to be done tomorrow
  22. Lesbians are hot yo! -D
  23. Unfortunately the Insurance addendum only is valid for Members (and not affiliates). Individual cams licences will get the 10% discount thru shannons, but not thru simply being affiliated with a member club. I called shannons half an hour ago and they confirmed it. -D
  24. Yiap. Unfortunately you don't get the 10% cams discount with shannons via a group affiliation - has to be personal. D'oh! -D
  25. Very well said -D
