  1. Cool. Maybe you can ask them on behalf of SAU Chad? Its nice to second guess events with the benefit of hindsight, but I'd note that I never saw any alternative suggestions before the event was held. Also, regarding the inference that the SAU committee has to vote against everything ; I believe the current arrangement is to leave all functional arrangements to the discretion of the events coordinator, because quite simply, that is what their job is. I'm sure the secretary and treasurer have more than enough stuff to worry about than to have to approve or vote against something that has little or no relevance to their position within this non profit organisation, and I surely don't believe the president wants to micro manage every aspect of the org. -D
  2. thats pretty harsh considering that this is an inaugral event for a newly formed group, i really would have loved to see others do it better if a business offers to help SAU, dont you think it would be wise to accept the goodwill and go with it, rather than say 'oh, well we need assurances you actually know what you're doing..." And this is from a well respected institution. SAU:SA wont win any friends by making workshops try to out bid each other on freebies for the simple goal of keeping you all happy... if you guys out there, reckon that you can do it better, then by all means, petition business and present them to the offically nominated SAUSA events co-ordinator so that she can weigh up all >AVAILABLE< options. By available, I dont mean the hypothetical. -D
  3. +1, there is a sacrifice to be made when fitting in so many cars within a limited amount of time. If I recall correctly, the people at Autosalon last year didn't run AF ratios either - theyre mostly important for when tuning. a simple dyno day assumes that you have your engine tuned properly (because the person who runs the dyno isnt getting paid to do a tune, so they dont). Basically, if you dont think your car is able to hack a power run with load on a dyno, then dont bother turning up. This is my humble opinion. The onus is on you to have a competent and capable vehicle which can survive a dyno shootout. A dyno shootout is just that. A numbers run. It is not a tune. it is not an opportunity for people with bad tunes to diagnose their woes on the cheap. That said, I think it'd be best to adopt a policy of safety rather than speed. I for one wouldn't be happy if I munted my engine so the tuner could save 30 minutes. No doubt Southern Hitech can do this, its just you'd probably only have 20 cars on a single day, rather than 30. Just keep in mind that nothing is for free - it actually costs a bit of money to run a dyno for a day, people don't realize this. I'm really smegged off I missed it. Car is in the mechanics atm to get injectors replaced. If the others test poorly then I'll go and upgrade to 555's at min, 700's at max. -D

  5. Yeah I reckon for this I could make an appearance. I'll have a passenger seat free for anyone who wants to donate cash to nigel too -D

  13. heya sorry but im out took the car to road and track.... problem only got worse and theyve diagnosed two internally leaking injectors... worst timing ever, but at least someone else can get a run - i know the car feels like its trying to run a 100 sprint after being punched in the balls... it tries... it just... cant... ;( -D Edit that said, does anyone have a couple of stock 444 nissan gtr injectors? will pay beer
  14. jeez man buy one from a wrecker... screw a new one -D
  15. I got the EEE 901. Upgraded it to a 2gig ram memory stick, removed the slow 8gb secondard ssd and replaced it with an uber fast 32gb ssd. chucked an sdhc class 6, 16gb SD card in the card reader. Wireless bluetooth mouse, wireless bluetooth via my sony ericsson k850i to the net, usb DVT-B decoder... bloody love it am running fedora linux on the 4gb ssd, windows xp home on the 32gb ssd and i have the 16gb card for media storage... 48 gigs of media avail to windows not bad considering its got no moving parts. being turned on in a skyline aint gonna kill it heh the only thing I wish I had was a touchscreen. would be uber. you can get kits but im not quite prepared to disassemble the eee... little computers rule -D
  16. jeez man ur run of bad luck just keeps getting worse can you fix the cyl with a bigger diameter bore ? could be good excuse for 2.8lt pistons ? ;\ -D
  17. Sux. Stuck at home with a cold and the power has gone out. ETSA has an eta of 2:30 pm. Using my eee via nextG sucks. Matty T, come save us, ur our only hope!!!1one -D
  18. You'll have to PM him for a quote for his labour and parts as Im not sure what the prices are like atm, and if you want to buy a pair of turbos I'll have my stockers for sale after the new ones are fitted, but we're talking a couple months here -D
  19. coolness, hopefully we can find someone with an early model gtr and a 35 *nods* Last calendar was awesome, put me down for two again -D
  20. well whatever u do i'll support it, but it was a bit disheartening to see a couple of peoples cars shown 2-3 times in the calendar even if i dont get my car in it, i think it'd be nice to restrict the calendar to one entry per car aside from that gripe, the calendars were awesome and i love mine and ill definately buy a couple next year -D
  21. your best (cheapest) bet is to find a pair of blown ceramics and sending them over to Antimatter in melb and get them rebuilt. Hes doing a pair for me at the moment (which i need to get off my arse and pay him the rest of the cash i owe him) best thing is, if its in the original gtr turbo housing, regency wont know any difference -D
  22. I would be a bastard and say "rolls royce merlin' but theyre super charged so i have to settle for Rolls Royce Meteor rd&l -D
  23. Powerful? rofls If people arent afraid of the living then why should they be afraid of the dead. Hell, I'm alive and I can pull people down stairs, close doors and rattle crockery And since they're already dead, they can't kill you. They probably just get bored floating about the place and decide 'heh lets screw with this living persons head, watch what happens when i open this door' and then shit themselves laughing -D
  24. Nice sentiment but 15" is way to big. 12" would be the most you'd want it, 10-12" ideal... ssds arent so pricey, go to solidstatecentral.com.au and get a runcore 32gb SSD for $200, will make the pc actually usable with windows. Linux (Fedora 12 esp) runs nice on the 4gb ssd but the 8/16's they provide are just shit. -D
  25. you say there was plenty but i know i could have outdone you. and i dont invite myself ;P yeah u can hang onto consult cable. thats a good price for ur eee but you'll be wanting to hot it up at some stage. i'd recommend a 32gb runcore SSD to replace the slow 16gb ssd and a 2gb stick of ram to replace the 1gb, and possibly the touchscreen mod if u are prepared to disassemble the eee. and roo is the best. -D
