Nissan Leaf? Running, Ducking and Laughing... -D
-
Sweet. I didn't know that.... good thing ruby told me to grab one when he removed my head, I needed just about all of the gaskets replaced -D
-
Hehe. Cornflakes all over the shop. Nice picture -D
-
Yeah dude, totally. I effed that up. The Vehicle Rebuild Kit. or whatever they call it. -D
-
Word. Get the OEM VRK (?) set and you'll get every gasket that you need, to nissan spec. If its good enough for nissan, 99% its good for every other dude out there... only non nissan gasket I got is the cometic MLS 1.3mm head gasket.... I even have gaskets left over I reckon I'll eventually use - won't have to pay for the individual component when the 20 year old oem eventually gives way -D

I have to agree with Tangles here. I've never done 'a skid' - I've been stupid on the roads before, got caught, done the penalty and copped it sweet (drink driving, dangerous - 11 yrs ago) but since I got the GTR I've never dared risk it cause I need my licence and any criminal charges would really screw my career. You can't assume that everyone with a high powered car is a dickhead. I'm 32 now, I did my dumb shit when I was 21 and learnt from it. And I avoid going over the limit for the same reasons as Tangles. I'll never sell the GTR. If it does get defected for something minor, I'll fix it. If its for something major, I'll engineer it or remove the defectable item. I've driven my car >as a daily< and not had a fraction of the problems some lads have had. That said, Krishy's car is pretty hardcore. Its impressive to watch and I guess thats what the po-po radar picked up on and decided 'oh that needs to be taken out'... I'm not saying its right (far from it) but eh, the cynic in me is not surprised. I just hope u keep ur car Krishy... its a good one... -D

Then that demonstrates prejudice... He's already decided the car in question was defectable without having inspected it. Quota system. I would like to say that a competent lawyer would be able to get it overturned upon this basis, but the fact that there was a defectable unit involved means that the cops have been vindicated. You *could try* and remove that turbo and return it to stock, remove the EBC and argue the fact that the officer in question pointed to the master cylinder. A lawyer could subpoena said officer and ask him to point out the BOV/EBC whatever and if he does it to a stock piece of equipment, case closed - however, the likelihood of this happening is very remote, a) the police prosecutor is wise on such things and advises officers about how to act in court (same way a lawyer advises civilians basically). and b) its really really expensive to hire a lawyer and correct injustice. Cheaper to cop it on the chin, get the car engineered, reverted, whatever... I had a good chat with my cousins husband on Sun about this, he's a police negotiator who doesn't deal much with traffic offences, but knows the relevant law. Interestingly, he works up near the north border of our state, in a community with 99% aboriginals. They don't defect cars up there. Period. They do enforce licences, but as far as registration and roadworthiness, FORGET IT! They have enough problems with violence to provoke the indigens with 'trivial white man law'. Funny to think that we get defected for having an EBC and yet the natives can drive around the country with bald tyres, no registration, seatbelts, windshields etc without the law caring. Just saying. -D Edit - Agree with heslos comment about shit happening, but I have to disagree with the cop comment (not because of the cop I spoke to yesterday mind..) In my personal experience, I have been pulled over twice in the last 4.5 years of driving, never defected, only breathod and rego checked. And both times they have been nice. Maybe its cause they see my ID or not, or maybe its cause I'm a nice guy. Either way, as much as I fret about getting pulled over and reamed for something trivial, I've been lucky and I can't really dis SAPOL for checking my licence and rego and bretho.

Yeah 16x8 but they look bigger on a 31 - esp when the same color as the car hehe -D
-
Ahh nice. Yes she was rather sunk back in her seat, I doubt she could have seen naught. I love the choice of rims to match the paint, I reckon theyre bigger than the stocko 32 gtr rims, but most def your 31 is very tidy and if I didn't have the GTR I would be considering buying one (my first car was a s3 r31 that I dropped mad coin on till I wrote it off) -D

He's a considerate bloke, he made sure to be on the left most portion of the lane and moved as far forward as possible as he could - I still had to ride the curb a bit but I gave him the thumbs up as I passed. Such a beautiful car....very tasteful -D
-
Saw SVD-*** today on Montague road, white series 2 silhouette with f**k jdm sticker... assuming its an SVD1... very tidy car - and thanks to the drive who moved to the left and as far forward, I got into the slip lane - Thanks! -D

Do it. SMH had an article yesterday about one Wojtek Czarnocki who operates a shop that has 'restructured' itself so it can legally sell Samsung touchscreen units... Same asshole ripped me off several hundred dollars through his last venture, Voitech, for an SSD I paid for and never got. Filed a police report but as usual the slack arseholes did f**k all about it. So I msged the editor and told him not only about the bad rep the guy got on whirlpool and other forums, but also his conviction for software piracy. New article was submitted today. I think its rather lenient considering the bastard is still free to rip more people off... and I'm still out of pocket http://www.smh.com.au/technology/technology-news/apples-galaxy-nemesis-has-a-pirate-past-20111109-1n6dy.html -D

hehe its a small world, cheers! -D

and this Is on my laptop. The SAAB Gripen. Made specifically so it can land on roads and be serviced in a garage... -D

Peacemaker ICBM MIRV Re-entry test. I have this on my desktop at work. Each MIRV is rated at 300kt nominal yield, with up to 10 MIRVs per ICBM. To put it in perspective, the bomb that was dropped on Hiroshima was rated at 18kt. -D

Spotted Munro today exiting the side street adjacent to the Walkers Arms. Great lookin R that one.. -D
-
spotted shelly and steven and the white stag also a blue 34 gtr beeping us while pulled over in athelstone near gorge road -D
-
... or just get an R31 Wagon... the GXE's are pretty darn good as a platform to start with... I don't argue with your choice but the r31 platform is robust and is good for many applications - just need to be patient and get the right one Good luck! I reckon for $5k you'll get an excellent skyline -D
-
If 5k total is your budget, I'd definately follow the above advice and just buy a 31 with all the bits and pieces (one with an rb30 will do) - Can probably get a Silhouette for that money in decent nick - good cars -D

While I never swapped an engine in my old r31, I did have the misfortune to have the torque converter die... was cheaper to get it converted to manual, so naturally I did that. I think the parts were around $650 which came with the pedals and xfercase and clutch, and around $650 labor to fit.. this was back in 2003 so I don't know if the parts/labor would be cheaper/more expensive but I'm guessing if you got the engine + box you'd save a bit. That said the sr20 is probably cheaper and lighter and they give a decent amount of power and are pretty darn strong... also you'd have to factor in getting bigger brakes and getting it engineered. Dark.Sky put a rb25det into his 32 which originally had the rb20det and he had to do the above so you can guess that there is probably a little bit more involved for you... -D

Grey 33 with black bonnet heading north on Bridge Road Pooraka 5:15pm or thereabouts. didnt see it till the last second - looks great! -D
-
Yeah I used some leftover dynamat to cushion it -D
-
Same noise started happening to me when I bolted the controller to the firewall - maybe move it somewhere to the front of the engine bay -D
