ROFL... Love the blackfriars one (my old school) - so very true~ -D
-
Good luck all! Have a great time at what should be an excellent event... and make sure you all come home in one piece -D

If someone wanted to bring up my speeding fines, I'd say 'yep, im a DH' and cop it sweet. Cause I know I was in the wrong. Nuff said. Theres a difference between breaking the law without intent and blatantly breaking the law without regard for public safety, thats why the club doesn't endorse that nonsense and never will. Take it to a race track or a drag strip (even if its far away, its still there) Do the crime, do the time, and hopefully learn from the mistake. To even try and defend the indefensible? "Cause, totally, like, 10km over the speed limit is like racing each other in the tunnel." Yeah. Righto. Too bad you don'r like it but there it is. I'll refer to DStirls post to point out the numerous mistakes that were made. You're young. You'll learn. -D

I still get done for speeding. 10km over and that. Completely unintentional and hardly something to brag about. Matter of fact last time I got a speeding ticket was in my mums corolla... I don't get done doing 50kph over the limit in a tunnel because I'm not 100% stupid. Maybe 70-80% stupid but not 100%. -D
-
Yeah.. only because they were exceeding the speed limit and generally being tools... -D

FS Early R32 GTR Gearbox, no idea of KM's on clock but would assume around the 100,000km I assume my chassis has done Gearbox only - no transfer case, is dirty as sin and needs new synchros but the gears are in good nick Good for RWD applications that need a strong box $500 ono pick up - delivery extra -D

True, and tbh computers and my job frustrate me to the point that I just cbf dealing with beta level software... That and I work for a software company and I have a moral obligation to give the devs the money IF I like the product and want to keep it.... Bought WOW:BC, WOW:LK and WOW:Cataclysm, Doom3, Flashpoint: Dragon Rising amongst a few others... if the product is good, I'll buy it, but I download them first and try them... which some might label piracy, I call it 'tasting the fruit' -D
-
I'll buy it when its out. Not that desperate. -D

+1 - if thats all they got you for, you'd be laughin'. And once you replace those items I'm sure you'll be impressed how much firmer your ride is Sucks to be charged a 2nd time by regency. That is simply wrong (considering all the tax us road users already pay) -D

Quick warning to anyone considering buying an OCZ Revodrive Original or Revodrive x2 Had my 110gb Revodrive (PCI-E) SSD stuff up today. Its only 4 months old and is a replacement for a 50gb unit of the same make I had to RMA. 1st one developed sector and File table errors, 2nd one is suffering from the 2nd of the Raid0 mirros to disappear after several minutes of power. Needless to say, I'm miffed. I have all my critical data on another array of drives, and I have a tape backup unit, but neither of those are suitable to be used to host an OS, so I'm back to my laptop until this gets resolved, or unless I can borrow a drive from work for the time being. The X3's support TRIM - maybe this helps the first problem I had but the second one is obviously a hardware issue. And we're currently trialling OCZ SATA3 SSD's at work for the programmers to use (compiling source code uses a lot of IOPS's and the SSD's take 1/3rd of the time to compile as their HDD counterparts - the longevity of such devices remains to be seen...) *sigh* That aside, I'm going to get another video card, a bigger monitor, 2x2tb raid drives to expand my array and a copy of Battlefield 3 when its out. And more backup tapes for my pron important data... -D

In the south african gp of 1977, Tom Pryce hit a fire marshall that had ran across the road (yes, in front of Formula one cars... genius)... the fire extinguisher the marshall was carrying hit Pryce in the head and the force of it nearly decapitated him with the strap... more info here : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tom_Pryce#Death -D

On the flipside, there can be such a thing as too tight a helmet. Paramedic I knew a while back told me about a fatality he'd attended in the hills, motorcyclist was riding as one does but turned into a corner while a bus was passing. Bus clipped the side of the dudes helmet and it ripped his entire head off. Perhaps the helmets should have some kind of tension release system, a similar idea to how the bindings on skis work...some cases it'd be preferable to have the helmet come off (on the flipside, dont want the helmet coming off too easily...) 24yrs old is way too young to die. -D

Nah its a 5 speed. Series 2 R33 GTR box (dual synchros tho). Still have many KM to make the gearbox lube up and unlimber. Every gear was stiff when I first started driving but now 3rd and 4th are feeling normal, 1st, 2nd and reverse are getting there, just need to shift in and out of 5th for a bit as theres a lot of pressure when I move the shifter to the right. I'm sure it'll go away in a while (box was stripped and cleaned in many fluids I dont even know the name of and reassembled with martini mineral oil used for the gearbox (not that blue shockproof shite!) Box had to get converted from pull to push, thankfully BW has done it a lot and they have their procedure down pat... -D

Not a bad idea at all! Also kudos to Shaun and Will at Boostworx for not only getting the job done on time, but they managed to come in under the price they quoted, in spite of having to do extra work. Great service! -D

Thanks again to Madaz for the NPC clutch he sourced a couple of weeks ago for me - its rad... Picked the car up with the 33 S2 box and clutch fitted and did a hills run to wear it in. Have to get used to just how firm and precise it is but I finally have all my power going to the wheels. Winning. -D
-
+1 for Matty T. Always ready to help out like the champ he is -D
-
They give me a hard on -D

I'm still gigglin dawg! -D

ROFL Thank you. I have't had a gut-laugh like that in a very long time. Cheers -D

Oh naturally. Cause today tonight would totally use that as evidence of hooning in the heysen tunnels...even though its not even taken in our country wankers -D

I'm doing a safe 20psi with N1's on a 22 yr old bottom end. Replaced the gasket with a cometic mls 1.3mm unit, arp head bolts, smoothed head face etc 20psi is fine. Anything over that u wanna start worrying. I have the smallest turbo kit avail meaning it pumps less air at that PSI than a big one (ie a t51 can produce mammoth power at 7psi but is quite laggy and needs cams)... but psi is a matter for the tune, the gasket, the rings and valve seals. nothin to do with anything else - psi is all relative to the heat and volume of the air going in after all... Put short I reckon 20 is doable on a stock engine in good nick, provided hes not running anything large (by large i mean anything that a) needs cams changed, b) is a single c) is bigger than a 2860-7 equivalent. Once you go over 350kw you're getting into the danger zone. I'd be happy if I got 300kw but really, the feel and response of the car is more important to me than any digits on a dyno chart -D

Frankly considering this blokes hit rate, I would be tempted to elevate a complaint to the police ethics board. Once you get in front of an independant adjudicator and compare the ratios of his defections, and the defections on skylines in particular, i think then it would possibly show some statistical outliers which would have to be explained if the media were somehow incited to get involved (aka some indignant TT/ACA piece about road taxes and yet we still drive on shit roads)... That aside, There's nothing wrong with law abiding citizens that love cars to approach the law and say 'we plan to do this, lets plan it so as few people are inconvenienced as possible'. The gesture is grand but sadly some station commanders enforce quotas and then there are also rogue police that have a bugbear and use every one of their legal rights to screw the enthusiast. There are many grey areas and you really cannot win... I've even had my sapol cousin in law say as much... -D -D
