I know im probably gonna get flamed for this, but i lmfao whenever seagulls get owned at footy matches there was this one on the footy show where some poor sod of a seagul lands and the ball gets kicked from 30 metres away, goes up in the air and lands right on top of it or the one that gets taken out mid flight when someone landed a big drop kick....owned by a football travelling 100kph ahh seagulls. Cheap entertainment. thankyou son of rajab -D

Yeah it took me a long time to earn the wage I get now, and its all based upon actual skills (I'm not yet RHCE certified but close)... $35-45k jobs were all I was able to get up until a couple of years ago when I had some specific skills that were required (and my 15 years experience in the field).... EDS, CSC, etc are all big corps that pay a decent wage for their employees however it can be a bit like shooting yourself in the foot - you can get stuck doing mundane work without actually learning anything and thats where the problem lies - in IT you constantly have to be upskilling as the industry changes every few months (hardware, software, marketing directions, financial climate etc)... and it can change very very quickly. If I was doing in Syd what I'm doing here, I'd probably be earning another $20k on top... that seems to be the general rule of thumb... only downer is Sydney is expensive and that extra $20k really negates itself in terms of lifestyle.. hopefully we start getting paid more as our cost of living increases but so far its been a bit disappointing. Other thing with IT is that there are loads of people who say they deliver services, such as onsite companies and PC repair shops but the actually skilling is generally disapoointing. There are also a lot of dodgy people in the IT game that don't care about reputation or the quality of their work and they let it down for everyone. I've had the fortune to work at some great places (like my current employer) but sad to say at least half the places I've worked have left me very disappointed with their ethics, management or simply their procedures (or lack thereof)... -D EDIT : The only things that are defence related in IT are generally software development. DSTO is a client of ours and we look after their infrastructure and certain niche applications but the lions share of defence work is code.

I'm no mechanic, but even I can see that its a shit job. Blatantly shithouse. If they wanna come back to u with something negative, threaten small claims court. It'll cost them more to fight it than to replace the unit. -D

Then don't waste time on a cert 3 of anything. Do the standard tafe Diploma of IT... cert3 only runs part time for 6 months and you'll learn bugger all. When I was in tafe, I was correcting the network lecturer on the OSI model and stuff he should have known off by heart. Ultimately, Tafe was a waste of time for me (I went for the Adv. Diploma) but it got me into a helpdesk job like Luciano says - however you have to understand that IT Helpdesk/Call centre support is the anus of IT work. The conditions are crap, theres a lot of stress involved for most people and the pay is abysmal. Expect around $12-13 per hour as a permanent part timer. NB People in IT helpdesk call centres rarely get paid the award rate for call centres because they're technically classified as Office Clerks. -D
-
No offence damo, but tafe doesnt teach you anything relevant... I know, I went there once If you want to get into Networking, you're better off going with a microsoft MCP or a cisco CCNP/CCNA or maybe even a RHCE... Depending on your direction, you'll want to either go for networking alone or development. Theyre mutually exclusive (unless you like to code network stacks...) -D

I think 800hp is what the blower is rated at 600hp would be a more realistic ballpark figure I'd imagine - John Keen would know his stuff however Im guessing that big figures will wear the engine out in no time Stlll, I've never seen an RB supercharged and I think this is gonna be a really interesting project to watch -D

I cut the mids and gain the treble and bass generally and use the gain as overdrive on the bigmuff and run it into the jmp1 on its clean channel and then into the low gain input of the amp... the cleans are what im after mostly, while using the big muff as only overdrive due to its sound in general. i know of loads of people who do use amp overdrive but other people live here so I have to be considerate and play at realistic levels ;P Looks interesting, from a kit i take it? My telecaster has 2 single coil pickups and one dual mode humbucker, each one controlled by an independant toggle switch (humbucker has 3 way) so I can get 11 variations in tone. Also has fender brand floyd rose which Im going to replace with an EVH Trans Trem... Might need to think about getting the tuners replaced at some stage along with a general service... need the electrics looked at cause when all 3 pickups are turned off there is some residual noise... and the barrel plug is worn as they always do... along with getting the top strap lug refitted... -D
