Thanks for clarifying that. If you'd like to join once we're established, the door will still be open -D EDIT - I'd just like to clarify that kellie's previous cruises were open events - she cant honestly be expected to police or be responsible for the people that came along.

LS1 coilpack on a nissan? Are you crazy dames? Best coilpacks arent the justjap or splitfires - its the good old nissan OEM coils If you're smoking crack, I want some of that ;D -D

Stirls man I think that was a lil uncalled for... She's only ever banned 2 people from her cruises, and that was for a damn good reason... IF Sau-SA has a chance to get made we need to leave all the prior baggage at the airport and fly away to the equator... Please people, lets try and get this done.... its gonna be hard, theres going to be teething problems and yes, people are going to disagree - thats fine, as long as its done respectfully. Kellie probably won't be running the club. She's just the one with the initiative to start the ball rolling. Ideally the club president will be elected by his/her peers. It wont be a dictatorship, thats for sure. Positive comments will be welcome. Naysayers can direct themselves to /dev/null -D

I agree, but having just chatted to Kel i know she was being sarcastic... I'd love to see SAU-SA get up and running... I dont think you should butt out, I think you're precisely the sort of person who needs to give us input to succeed.. The main reason she suggested a different name was to disassociate the club (aka an actual business/npo entity) from the dudes who rock around with SAU stickers and hit sideways. Its moreso a fresh start so that members can be vetted in accordance with club policy.. That said, we're having a chat about it now and will endeavour to work out the details. If we can go with SAU-SA it'd be mutually beneficial, its moreso the technicalities that need to be worked out -D

You're comparing apples and oranges Troy That happened because McDonalds is a registered trademark under australian law. Do a search on those two websites for McDonalds and it'll be registered to the conglomerate that owns McDonalds. Unlike McDonalds, RB Motorsports USA does not have a registered trademark under australian law. If they did, it would appear in the ASIC and IP databases. Trust me. I know the legal system. Or, if you don't trust me, call up the Office of Consumer and Business affairs (the people that take care of business registration. They will tell you that there is no problem at all...) -D EDIT - A good example is www.logitech.com.au - the business behind that registered their Business name and domain name in australia before logitech international - they have been challenged by logitech.com several times and won each and every case.
-
No, they can't come after you if you're a) in another country and b) a not for profit organisation OR a multinational OR a company listed on the stock exchange Provided you get the not for profit registration and use the business name simply as the relevant referral to the ATO, you won't have any problems at all. If however you tried to register an international patent, then you'd be in trouble. Thing is, they could be idiots and try to prevent kellie from registering a .com.au but the hearing would be held in australia and she would win due to the simple fact she's not making a profit. -D EDIT - Just remember, the registration in this state stipulates that it only needs to be unique across the australian federation - which means you can get a business name - which means you can register for not for profit status as well as register a .com.au, and for the point of printing up t-shirts and the like, im sure that company would appreciate the free publicity for them via the search engine hits

and then there was that time u put a watermelon in the oven ;\ -D
-
That website refers to RB Motorsport in california, USA as long as its not registered in the business name address in south australia, you can get it -D EDIT - its not registered at http://agencysearch.australia.gov.au or http://www.search.asic.gov.au which means its not been taken. Go nuts!

Just as long as theyre not bikers from the Blue Oyster Bar ;D -D

2nv? Oh dear thats horrible. Reeks of all the POS commodores u see with '2nv' on the end I guess the k makes it elite. Too 'hektik' Not bad at all Not bad either that ones probably not the best one to use considering the negative image of enthusiasts being labelled hoons Thats not bad either... tho the RB Motorsport one takes the cake imho -D
-
Dunno where u can buy it from but that does look like a really nice front bar... suits the profile perfectly -D

Actually he was banned for the posts leading up to post #57 (on page 3) as well I suspect some PM arguments that were previously alluded to.. it just so happens that sled didnt respond to it until you'd already posted again, an estimated duration of 6 hours difference. like I said, I'm not going to get into whether or not either one of you are right, simply because I just don't care. However if you have an axe to grind against any single mod, speak to the rest of the mods and make an official complaint. Fighting in public is undignified. -D
-
Well I'm not getting into the nitty gritty of your beef, however for some reason you (nisskid) were banned - now if you don't like that, you can always appeal to the other mods of the board, I'm sure they will hear you out and decide for themselves if sled was being out of line. Or, sometimes its easier to just cop the holiday and let things pass naturally. It would have been a 100% innocent post but you mentioned his name - I take this as a baiting... there just simply wasn't any need for it. And ted, you probably should have known better than to post for a temporarily banned member... but it seems like you only ever post negative comments these days so I doubt my words would mean anything to you at this stage. -D

Oh everyone has disconnections from time to time, especially in summer. Either the DSLAM's fail or their backend provider stops providing the ATM links to the exchanges (like what happened last friday), these for the most part are unavoidable and happen to every ISP... the main gripe with the other guys is that the internal organisation hasn't got good information dissemination nor a chain of command to manage outages and customer support tickets.... you'll find that if you call Adam or Internode when there is a problem, they'll generally already know about it or they'll be able to troubleshoot it rather quickly... this is due to good management and internal policies. Unfortunately, the bigger the organisation, the more complex and beaurocratic it is... Telstra and Optus are a good case in point, TPG not so much but still bigger. From a business point of view they appeal to different types of consumers, so theres really no 'right' or 'wrong' about it, however when it comes to service, QoS and reliability, the smaller guy is always going to win out because he realizes how important the business is and bends over backwards to keep it... sure he might charge more per gigabyte but that means he won't try to screw you over either.. -D
-
Can't argue with that.... -D
-
Yeah, I was surprised that he contacted her, its very commendable to have a proactive approach from an officer who isn't getting anything out of this - Tim, you may think that its a bait, that is your right, but I tend to look at the glass being half full and give the man the benefit of the doubt. Some people do actually try to work in the best interests of everybody and theres no reason to assume that there is any mendacity behind his contact. -D EDIT - Your post was fine up until that line.
-
Good deals but substandard service. I've heard quite a lot of negatives from TPG and very few positives aside from the download limit/price ratio which IS good value but when things go wrong their support sucks and they don't know whats going on - Adam and Node have got exceptional support, and its 100% local too! -D
-
Good work! Its amazing how many times these arsehole internet providers try and shaft you. Always the big guys like Optus and Telstra (telecoms companies providing internet as a service)... I can guarantee you that Adam and Internode wouldn't pull that nonsense (Adam and Internode being primarily internet providers and not massive corporations trying to get more for their shareholders)... I think Optus will argue that since your modem showed 6 gig out of the 5 gig limit that they're entitled to an additional $150 - this might be the only problem you'll have, but even still $200 is much better than $1100 - if you can get away with $50 only then that'd be ideal.. In the meantime, I'd advise everyone out there (in SA at least) to switch to either Adam or Internode - you'll get one hell of a better deal. -D
-
Well then they're up shit creek for not a) supplying you with a modem and b) notifying you of the change. You'll win. Easy. -D
-
Playing the devils advocate, age alone does not warrant respect. Respect, like honor, is earnt. That said everyone please relax and understand that there are many people in the world who won't agree with you. Neibuhr "God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference" -D

Absolutely. If the AUP was not working then its grounds for a reduction - providing that there is no clause in the terms and conditions which waive liability if the meter isnt working properly... I'd call the telecoms ombudsman - they handle broadband complaints. tell them that you checked on the last day of the billing cycle and that it reported 6gb and not 20. If optus has changed the way the meter works/have broken the traffic accounting system without notifying you or providing a viable alternative then they have no option but to refund the difference. You'll still have to pay the excess 1GB naturally but with enough kicking and complaining I think you have a good leg to stand on here, especially if they provided the modem (im assuming you're checking the download usage by your modems inbuilt meter rather than a website on optus?) regarding slowdowns - either you get a capped limit and anything over is free but on dialup speeds, or you get full download speed and any excess is charged on a per megabyte rate - its one or the other and you'd be best off clarifying exactly what here, because its one or the other. -D

Its not just parents sadly. Australia in general (dare I say the world?) seems to point the finger a lot without people standing up and accepting responsibility for their own actions/inactions. This isn't a new thing, its been happening for a long time. I would probably say it has something to do with the legal system (US and Aus and others) trying to push liability/culpability onto people who really have done nothing wrong. (Such as the bloke who tried to sue the council when he dove headfirst into a shallow river, became a quadriplegic and decided that it was their fault for 'allowing' swimming rather than him being a smart guy and actually checking the depth first) People aren't big enough to accept their own stuff ups it seems. It's much easier for them to blame something. And of course, the government will react to the status quo, regardless of its merit. Thats why instead of having parents mind their childs internet activities as you stated, the govt feels that it is normal to let children loose upon cyberspace - and that's lead to the mandatory filter trial... Wow... was that rant off topic or what? -D
