  1. Happy Birthday Chickette! -D
  2. only problem with gas as i know is that it just doesnt have density and it requires some special injector to force the gas into each cylinder when its under boost.... my r31 had the simple setup, where as the gas is diffused into the air pipe before the plenum, but they aren't sufficient for turbos (and the fact that the lpg burns at a higher temp which could be an issue for some turbos) -D
  3. sometimes tapping it does. it seems to splutter during acceleration with power loss but if i slam the accelerator down it doesnt disappear... its like it has no torque and doesnt accelerate when under gear but when the clutch is down it free revs as normal and if i have a constant speed of 60kph you can feel the lack of power and the stuttering.... and when it 'decides' to change after 5-6 minutes of driving, the same accelerator position means i start to gain speed instead of just maintaining speed, and the revving of the engine starts to take a more normal tone and response is back to normal. i had these symptoms a few months ago but the duration and severity of the powerloss is increasing over time... -D Edit : should also add, when i put the accelerator down a bit more to try and get the engine to accelerate during this time, the exhaust sounds like its spitting exhaust gasses in pulses.... i can feel/hear the put put put sound rather than a purr if i back off the accelerator - its baffling to me - and its idling >perfectly< at the moment (ever since i replaced the sparkplugs, which didnt fix this current problem)
  4. what turbo/s are u getting? Im going to upgrade to 34 n1's when Ive finished fixing all the shit thats gone wrong ... looking at $2k worth of repairs over the next month. not happy jan -D
  5. I have this same issue, did you find out if it was the sensor or the afm's? Cheers -D
  6. bumping this thread as I've been having the same issues. Have replaced all my spark plugs and have identified a leaky injector and two coilpacks that are on the way out - however since this happens in the first 10 minutes of a drive then I believe that those two components aren't the culprit... where is this water temperature sensor located? I've plugged the consult cable in to check the error codes and everything reports to be OK... or it could be a failing AFM.... not sure... any help appreciated... -D
  7. Supercharger + cams + cam gears.... injectors, fuelpump and afm if you need it... much more bang for buck and its not the usual rb mod. loads of turbo upgrades and stroked rb's but ive never actually seen a supercharged one... sure you lose a bit of power proportionally but you get less lag, thus keeping the characteristics of an NA with a nice linear power curve tomei poncam b's are what ur after cara... same ones im after -D
  8. Ahh man that seriously sucks.... sounds like SA-SAU is due for a group buy on RB rebuilds ;P -D
  9. Can you get slipknot tshirts for infants? -D
  10. Yes the server is huge, but Christian rents it from a hosting company - and they charge by the megabyte - which is why you now see ads at the top of the page. Wasteland is fine, its what its there for. And as for it being 'only 9 pages' - thats 9 pages of bullshit the mods have to sort thru, and its not a once off - this is happening often. The mods have better things to do than to lock threads, and when you guys do nothing but spam the shit out of a thread, they are compelled to look thru it to see what is said.... what does warrant 9 pages of bullshit? +1's are sometimes useful to indicate agreement, but IBTL should be a 1 week holiday. Serves no purpose that to whore someones post count up. Its bad enough when you log on to SAU and someone has his name as the most recent poster in no less than the last 10 threads. Its hard enough to find relevant information in the search engine without the bullcrap wasting your time. -D
  11. This "IBTL" bullshit is getting out of hand. Its about time you guys quit whoring the forum for the sake of getting your post counts up. You do realize that every post you put in gets saved on a server, and that storage costs money. Seriously. How bored are you folks? -D
  12. the noise that i was referring to is fan noise for the extra cooling... not sure about performance since I use the green drives as data storage only (movies, music, software packages, iso's etc).... tho I do have a wd raptor as my windows/scratch/installed software drive... they flog but they are indeed noisy suckers... next system i get i'll probably get a second wd raptor, raid0 the two raptors and raid1 two green wd's.... raid0 with raptors should kick arse -D
  13. Yeah KFC in prospect has a habit of f**king every order up... i've gone there before and said 'I'd like 5 pieces of original recipe - drumsticks only' then they give me the box, I look inside and there are 4 wings.... Drive around to the window again and say 'I specifically asked for 5 drumsticks' and so they take it back'.... get a box given, look inside... 4 drumsticks.... and a crispy strip. Bastards. -D
  14. Whats wrong with WD green hdd's? I got two and they work really well.... less power consumption = less heat output = quieter machine -D
  15. Hes obviously driven the car hard. 34 rb26's are a lot tougher than the 32 rb26's, and if the guy is driving around with smoke coming out the back i doubt hes really taking good care of that car... shame What is blue smoke from anyhow? Blown turbo? Oil in the combustion chamber? -D
  16. Well the law was passed 4 weeks ago legalizing the use of Fog lights in foggy conditions. Before that you weren't allowed to use them at all. Thats one of the reasons the regency boys would fail fog lights on most cars, with the obvious exception of stock foglights (not defectable but you weren't allowed to use them legally until a few weeks ago.) Yeah. Ya gotta love the genius bureaucrats running this state. Bunch of Monkeys... -D
  17. that'd be the chadster surely -D
  18. I work right near there; sorry I didnt see ya, I tend to not look around and concentrate on driving ;P -D
  19. As much as I do like AMD, the Core2Due and Core2Quad cpu platform is superior (the i7 is even better but pricy). The Core2 cpus use a hell of a lot less electricity compared to AMD and therefore don't generate as much heat, which means you dont need to put a shitload of fans in the case to keep it cool (which then means you have a nice quiet system)... -D
  20. Did u get a woody steve? > -D
  21. those rims look like daytons. theyre hugely popular in the southern states of america (them along with swangaz from 83/84 cadillacs)... you'll always see some southern G in a customized cadillac or chevy or other 50-70's muscle cars with the big ass rims.... 'SLAB' (Slow, loud And Bangin') They pretty much started the whole airbag suspension craze and then took it to another level with sitting sideways and poppin' trunk -D
  22. Spotted a f**king tool P-plater in a Daewoo on my way to work along Ascot Ave. Homeboy decided that the GTR wasnt going fast enuff (at 60kph) so he overtakes me (in the inside lane) and then pulls back in front of me as I'm slowing down for the light, which means I have to slam on the brakes so I dont go up his arse. Gave him the 'wanker' hand jiggle, but tbh I felt like getting out of the car and ramming my clublock up his anus. Kid, if you're reading this, you're the sort of dude who gives Asian drivers a really bad rep. Give up the car and start walking because you really, really suck. -D
  23. Pete, just delete the posts regarding anything but attendance. It would be best for all concerned. This thread does not deserve to be locked, but its been polluted with debate. -D
  24. and we do. we know ur a good dude, but sometimes, as ur mates, we gotta call u on it -D
  25. Yeah I have the drivers, theyre avail for download of the PLMS website.... For the diff of $20 and being able to pick the cable up direct from Pete at PLMS, I'd rather support local. He too has links to free software on his website, or you can pay $50 for some commercial software. The options are infact there. those displays are quite handy but are very defectable... and they dont give any extended diag information like laptop software. Still, they are much cheaper than a multi gauge. I just wish we had a decent HICAS diag software. I've been playing around with init commands using HEXTerm software and while i can send commands to the HICAS computer, i have nfi how to interpret the results. Its all in hex which is easily convertable to 8 bit decimal numbers but still. wtf does it all mean? *sigh* -D
