"Foolish man give wife grand piano. Wise man give wife upright organ."

yeah its not as ugly as i thought it would be, but it still doesnt match up the shiny plastic parts (dash surround, vents etc). They could have at least gone all out and done those too... the exterior...well the yellow makes it look like shite... i quite like the purple and the smoky ghostface... the yellow just screws it all up -D

That adam sandler movie (think its big daddy) where they have rob schneider as an illiterate handyman. they get him to say 'hippopottamus' so he learns enuff english to stay in america and he says.... 'hip..... hip.....hiphop....hiphop anonymous' was funny. f**k know what the GOAT reference is. Unless its a reference to the Canibus vs LL Cool J rap battles/beef (Greatest of all time is what LL claimed to be, Canibus said he should change his name from GOAT to GLOAT, to stand for the 'Greatest Loser of All Time' -D

I dont think an apology is necessary. Im torn between both rules. I'm always one for speaking my mind. If I get told off, I cop it on the chin. I appreciate warnings about dodgy business, same as I enjoy hearing good results from the reputable ones -D Edit : I don't just like playing the devil's advocate. Sometimes I like to play the devil.

Steve has a point, as do ya'll... a) One rule is for the users of this website - follow their rules or hit the highway b) One rule is a federal law for speech in general. When you sign up for SAU, you are asked to abide by the terms and conditions. These usually encompass rules which go above and beyond the law, or have a caveat that you are willingly becoming a member on the condition that you forfeit that right on this individual forum. So you're both right.. That said, the rule was to stop people trash talking a business when it isnt justified - sometimes this happens. And on the flipside, if there was a shithouse business out there, I would not want to give them my business - which is where the rule comes in, as the mods of this forum dont want businesses to lose customers on the basis of a single report (which could be biased and unverified). Ultimately the mods have discretion, and its a grey area at best. I think a bit of flexibility is required. For example, I posted a very vague reference to a dodgy auto electrician near my house and never got cautioned or pmmed about it. I think its more a safety clause incase a business threatens SAU with libel suit. Andrew and Pete could possibly add more to this, but tbh it comes down to commonsense. You can post your experiences publicly without naming names, and if people are that concerned they can always PM you to ask you your personal (and more importantly, unpublished and uncensored) opinion. -D EDIT : Remember, if you defame someone in speech or audio its slander. In print it's Libel and attracts a more severe legal penalty.

Damn man, u seriously deserve some beers for that effort.... boss shows u any love? I always feel for the guys fixing the shit, we had the blokes come past around 3am on Wed to fix the outage in our street... tis a thankless job eh -D

Get a 4hp split system... compressor and all the noisy stuff stays outside and the vent/control unit stays inside so the noise is kept to a minimum. Those suckers work bloody nicely... Dunno what brand cunnos have but I'd be going to harvey norman or radio rentals, one of those places that can usually hook u up with an installed cheap -D

Like steve said, an uninterrupted powersupply. its basically a battery backup unit for computers and other telecommunications equipment. They have built in sine wave regulators.... in ideal clean AC power the sine wave of voltage switching (from +240v to -240v) should generally be a perfect wave. In times of demand the wave can bottoms out (called a brown out - less voltage than normal) and can also have surges (more common in winter - when you get more than 240v)... the UPS absorbes excess power into the earth or the battery, and also draws power from the battery when the voltage drops. And if you lose power completely, they can power stuff like computers for 10-15 mins (for a cheap ups) all the way up to 8 hours for a very expensive one. Mine has audible alarms whenever it detects anything 'not normal' and since I have a few of them around the house its not hard to figure out when the power is screwed. Next UPS I buy will have data logging so I can shove it under the face of my local MP... -D

Yeah I saw that one too. Stag with manual transmission, ya can't go wrong.. -D

Yeah, my work lost power for 90 minutes, and earlier in the day the aircon in the west side of the office failed, leaving all the admin staff royally uncomfortable... had a blackout in my suburb on Wed night between 2 and 5 am. Didn't sleep much that night I can tell you... UPS's are still going apeshit with all the power fluctuations... *sigh* I'm seriously considering installing a DC genny and some deep cycle batteries to wire into the grid.... get the generator to run on the gas supply... just depends on how much its gonna cost, we have 2.5 kw of solar panels coming soon, so it could be a nice addition... -D

Ouch. My eyes! I doubt very much if this ECU will take standard nissan programming codes. It probably has its own protocol, still you can always give it a go with a consult cable from plms or something -D
-
Hah! Famous last words (cos sooner or later somethin's gonna blow).... Eastwood eh.... Clint Eastwood? -D
-
Same! What suburb are you in? My work lost power for 90 minutes (Dulwich) and all the traffic lights along dequetteville were dead (not flashing, dead dead) Ruby, did u get affected? -D
-
More importantly the poor folks (like me) who dont have reverse cycle (evaporative only) don't suffer too much. In humid weather our ducted evap system is next to useless -D

UPS's has been going spastic since I got home (and probably before then). Theyve already ran out of charge. And 10 minutes ago there was a spike and everything in the house shut down for a fraction of a second. I'd love to curse etsa but those guys are working their balls off fixing everything. Yep, again I blame all government ;D Government Bad Dohmar Good -D

Cog are playing, theyre pretty damn good... listening to em now - I'd go, if it wasnt so hot and I wasnt working -D

Sweet chad thx, and cheers for the tip steve. I made it home without any issues so I'm guessing it was just a dodgy afm. time to get my spares reconditioned methinks -D
-
Inside the plenum or outside? Would love a pic if anyone has one? I'll see what happens on the way home - if I get some twitching ill pull over and give it a bit of a wiggle, maybe test it with a multimeter when I get home -D

Weeeell no not sure at all.... where is the inlet temp sensor? The problem is sporadic (aka in the 20 minute drive, it probably lost power/started to stall 3-4 times but a little bit more accelerator helped it out of the stuttering...) If I can clean it or check the wires, it'd be a good place to start... -D

Not sure if this is relevant, but I once hit a kerb in my r31 at around 80kph... wheel stayed on but there was a plate that was affixed to the chassis, which the suspension component had to attach to. Had some rubbing on the guard once my mechanic at the time (a mates dad) had fixed most of the damage, and to fix the rubbing he unbolted the plate, moved it forward to its proper location and spot welded the broken bolt onto the plate (i think thats what happened...) Maybe check and see if there is something similar on your car. I honestly don't know enough about suspension to say -D
