Mark Aldridge is another independant candidate that comes to mind that could be helpful to the cause http://www.markmaldridge.com/ http://www.markmaldridge.com/Motor-Sports-Park--now-please-.html -D

hrm. always thought the p4s were cheaper due to being a lesser compound. the review comparisons seemed to favour the t1r's however, especially in the wet -D

Sounds like a good cause to get involved in way before the election smut starts... We need to see some policy tho. Simply saying 'I'm pro car' isn't good enough. We need actual plans to get stuff rolling and this will involve many people, from the motorplex consortium, to manufacturers, to mechanics and other people whos livelihood/income will be affected, as well as getting the policy RFC'ed past sapol to see what the popo have to say. (because politicians will ignore police advice whenever it's politically convenient). My main gripe is the lack of decent surfaces and lack of barriers - and I figure if you're going to go to that detail, make it biker friendly so the stuff that happens to some of the bikers out there doesnt end up being a fatality. I'd also love to propose modifying that 50kph limit when unsigned and returning it to 60kph. NFI if that would pass though. -D

for that price, I'd recommend upgrading to the T1R Proxes ... they're around $250 a corner (at least for the 225x50/r16) so I'd imagine it'd be not much more than what you'd already be paying for the 4's Been running T1R's for the last 4 years and they are a brilliant road compound. I get 2 years out of mine before camber wear is an issue. -D

Doubt labor are going to budge for a long while. while they have turbo tom their stance is hypocritical at best, tragic at worst redmond seems open to the ideas at the very least, whether she flips if elected remains to be seen. -D

Was thinking about this the other day. Seems theres a dearth of policy - maybe we should write our own policy and lobby hard till it gets adopted? Problems? - roads in state of disrepair (BIGTIME! Ever been interstate?) - roads designed 30 years ago inadequate for modern levels of traffic - side barriers, speed traps help slow people down but speed cameras and 50kph zones do nothing except raise revenue - drivers are not periodically tested for their licences and the current rules are extremely insufficient - shitbox cars (ie the ones that actually deserve a defect) are not sufficiently policed - imported cars under grey legislation are under scrutiny that is sometimes ambiguous due to the lack of company ADR compliance - defect scheme is a cash cow and doesnt solve the problem of modifications - political posturing does not save lives and both parties need to admit this - support must be more than partisan if it is suspected to pass - no venues within 100km of the cbd for motorsports - motorsport complex will attract regular high profile events as well as a driver training venue - more safety measures from a motorcyclists pov should also be taken into account Possible Solutions? - use revenue from speeding, drink driving, lack of rego/etc exclusively for upkeep of the roads and driver training. - feasibility studies to upgrade adelaide to a specification that will account for another 30 years of growth - this may involve more o-bahn/trains or tunnels/overpasses - enthusiast car clubs could possibly volunteer to map the roads on cruises and could point out inadequecies on specific roads and locations - mandatory 10 year licence test up till the age of 60, then every 5 years. Abolish the logbook method of obtaining P plates. Introduce defensive driving courses as standard with the L plate scheme, with advanced driving courses encouraged. - implement a modification plate scheme like in the eastern states - make regency inspections a taxpayer paid expense (ie rego and third party) - implement an independant lobby body for the sake of motorists. RAA is corrupt. Would be nice if we could convince the govt that part proceeds from a motorsport complex would easily pay for the driver training venue Suggestions? $0.02 -D

R32 Suspension, Coilovers Or Aftermarket Shocks. Cheap Preferebly! ;)
Dohmar replied to madmaxx21's topic in South Australia
I have Tein HR's for R32 GTR 2nd hand for $500 for all 4 shocks and Bilsteins with Eibach springs for R32 GTR, 2nd hand for $500 for all 4 shocks Will NOT fit GTS-T -D -
if it is fangio, or whoever, mad amounts of front toe-in even on those thin tyres... dudes cornering hard and yet the inner tyres are still pointing the other way...you can tell that cos hes almost learning 45' that he's riding the very top limit of lateral g's his wheels can handle.. top pic really for fun - draw a line between the two wheel hubs. then draw a 90' perpendicular line in the centre axis and then run a 45' line from the centrepoint past both the driver and the outer tractive wheel... something uncanny that the geometry lines up, esp when you consider the mans posture while cornering -D

Worst one was 1977 south africa grand prix... Renzo Zorzi's car caught on fire and pulled over to the side after the crest of a long straight.... Two marshalls ran straight across the track hauling 20kg fire extinguishers, one car narrowly missed the first marshall but Tom Pryce's car hit the marshall at approx 270-280kph. The impact of the car literally ripped the marshall (a 19 year old) in half, but also the 20kg fire extinguisher hit Tom Pryce in the face, his helmet effectively decapatitating him instantly. Since he had his foot on the pedal for the straight, his car kept going at top speed, clipping Jacques Lafitte and hitting the wall. Pretty horrific footage was recorded, its avail on youtube for the morbid/curious. -D

Time To Cut It With The Potentially Offensive Nicknames People
Dohmar replied to Nightcrawler's topic in South Australia
+1 In a mans world, nicknames are part of cameraderie and friendship. Only juveniles get offended. And to those who are going to jump up and down and say 'what if he was called f**kwitt?' well thats a SLUR not a nickname. -D -

if it offended him and he made a complaint, yes. and if he puts it on his profile, the likelihood that he is offended would be.... what... ? -D -
Time To Cut It With The Potentially Offensive Nicknames People
Dohmar replied to Nightcrawler's topic in South Australia
Why the hell should he do that? He invented his own nickname, it obviously doesn't offend him, he calls himself that, enjoys it when people join in... Why does it concern you? It doesn't concern him in the least... seriously... let the man do what the hell he wants without telling him what to do for some politically correct knee jerk reaction -D -
