My sincere condolances man. I looked at those pics and imagined what it'd be like if it happened to me, I know i'd be beside myself and probably wanting to kill someone/thing. Hopefully insurance will give u the paperwork asap. Really bites tho, looked like a gorgeous vehicle. I hope the bastards get testicular cancer. -D

Aahah... I always love generalizations.... point in case.... people are always saying how asians are bad drivers. Then you got people who say women are bad drivers. Then you got people who say anyone in a 4WD Burnside Bus is a bad driver. Our female chinese exchange student bought a 4WD (dunno what type, theyre all POS's) and has been in 2 accidents within the last 3 months. I seriously fear for the safety of any poor sod within a 100 metre radius. Tho on flicks post, her uncle sounds a lot like my dad. Doesnt check blind spots, has 'issues' in staying in his own lane. Accelerates slower than a geriatric on a skateboard. My mum drives like speed racer tho. Including the going sideways bit. (Yeah, she can drift a Toyota Seca like nobody). So I'm not sure about the male vs female thing, but imho all 4wd drivers are shit > Let the flames begin -D

Hah. Would be very easy to do. I could compile a 2 disc set (One Rap/Metal, One RnB/Dance) and chuck the ISO's on fileshare. Commence the requests.... Now. -D

I was 28 and my Justcar insurance was $1733 for 12 month for the 89' GTR with light mods. I'm now 29 and my Shannons insurance is $1540 for 12 months, same car but more mods (mostly cosmetic). Didnt know that Justcar even insured people under 21. Always knew it was going to be very farking expensive for anyone under 25. Even then my r31 exec non turbo was around the $1200 mark with Justcar at the time...(when i was 24) -D
-
hahaha fsck reuben yr on a roll tonite mate and yeah, i just changed to shannons last week, from justcar. $200 cheaper than justcar (thanks SLED for pointing out that discrepancy) and I pay by the month now. And all my mods are listed. Go shannons! -D

Playing a mixture of stuff atm. Been getting into the Stanton Warriors latest cd which is some UK breakbeat (think a cross between dance music and rap). Also been listening to Twista - Adrenaline Rush 2007, MIA's Arular/Kala and the latest UGK/Chamillionaire/Paul Wall cds (texas rap ftw)...Redmans' Red Gone Wild, Dogg Pound's Cali iz Active, Also listening to the latest Cog CD and Shihad's latest. Also gone back to some Queens of the Stone age and Helmet... Oh and Kinobe... theyre cool too -D

I've gotten 18 years out of my current box. Its the same one that came with the car when it was released. Only now do I have to replace it, and even then I'm just taking the cheapest option instead of replacing the synchros. Seriously, unless you're going to go over 500hp, stick with the stock box. Nothing, even a $7000 rebuilt box, is indestructible. -D
-
Thats a hard one. A std GTR box is tough to begin with, but no box is indestructible. It all depends on how you drive it, what sorta power yr engine puts out, whether or not the clutch is going to help or hinder the drivetrain. For my 2c, I'd just get a 2nd hand GTR box in good condition. If it dies, get your old one reconditioned. Sadly, gearboxes are labour intensive and so will never be cheap to get done, but rather $2000 than a $7000 box if you're never going to need that much... -D

Heh I downloaded a screener on the w/e. Was a really good movie. I'm keen to see it again at the drive in, but I dunno if I'll have replacement splits (My rainbow splits have died after only 7 months and the damage to them isnt covered under warranty. Pissed.) Hopefully I can get some new splits in there before next week, but unless that happens I doubt it'd be worth me going. Pete, sorry to have got yr hopes up but the old fella has the camping grille and I cant exactly fit a weber in my boot ;\ Tho a sausage sizzle would be very pimpalicious. -D

No. A rebuilt GTR box will have more strength and better ratios for racing or dragging, depending on how you build it. (As in, if you replace the gear sets and put in stronger bearings/synchros) But if you're going to have a maximum of 500 horsepower then I personally don't think it would be necessary to rebuild a GTR box (for street use), as a stock GTR box will suffice. If you get a GTS4 or GTS-T box I don't know what sort of power levels they can cope with by default. This is why oosh wants to know what exactly you're going to use it for. A gearbox for the street is not the same as a dragging box or a racing box, or a drifting box. Different boxes for different jobs. -D

http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Re...p;hl=gps+mobile ;P slacker!
-
thats under 500hp, and I know plenty of people who are running that sort of power with stock boxes and theyre not having any problems. If you can get yourself a good 2nd hand GTR box then you'll be laughing. No rebuilt boxes are necessary for that sort of power provided you're not going to abuse it, or race hard.. If you can afford the 33 GTR series 3 box then get that and fit it. Otherwise look out for a good 2nd hand one of those -D

The kit thats being sold in the group buy has an external GPS and GPRS antennae and so can be mounted anywhere discrete (such as A pillars, B pillars, parcel seat, underbody etc...). They look pretty nice for what they do, and I wouldnt mind getting one cause they can be wired in to the security system as well... quite a nicely designed system but like SLED says, if they get it into a chop shop, its bye bye.. -D
-
As good as brand new. In fact, I believe they sell the Series 3 R33 box for that same price; http://justjap.com/store/home.php?cat=254 Check that shizzl out... Genuine Nissan Gearbox - Nissan Skyline BCNR33 Genuine Nissan Replacement Gearbox - Nissan Skyline R33 GTR (Series 3) $3200 Which will be fine for a certain range... I think if ur gonna do over 500hp then you *might* be looking for a rebuild kit (I really dont know jack about power levels for boxes or rebuilds, perhaps someone out there does and can let us know when the time would be to consider a rebuild, cause I'd be interested). I know I'm aiming for 400hp or so and the GTR box will easily cope with that, so I'm not gonna bother with a hardcore rebuild. Maybe if I get a 2nd job pimping and have a spare $100k to lash out on rebuilding a '32 racecar for targa tassie > ahh well i can dream, cant i? -D
-
Yep. I'll be pimpin' AND mackin' *get the baby powder* Gwen Stefani made a song about u. Its called 'Hella Wuss' Rain is fun! Whee! After a movie called speed racer? Thats like giving an ADHD kid a litre of red cordial and telling him to skull it without mixing.... ;\ -D
