SkylinesAustralia - Smarter Than The Average Bear -D EDIT - I might also point out that if police come to any meet spots held on private property, like bunnings carpark or a designated carpark, they do not have any right to defect. Private property is sacrosanct, you can do whatever the hell you like there, provided it doesnt upset the owner. (Stupid things like burnouts notwithstanding)

Other thing to query is whether or not this is an actual SAPOL approved action or an unsanctioned vigilante operation. -D

I too would be interested in this. Obviously if people are driving around on bald tyres after a drift event its putting people at risk, however I can't help but feel that when a track event is targeted, it doesn't particularly encourage people to do the right thing. Naturally, "we import drivers" don't want to be targets, and we do discourage hoons whenever possible, and encourage to get their thrills in a legal, safe and supervised environment, however the question still stands; why target import drivers when there are just as many idiots in locally produced cars, or those that drive unmaintained vehicles which are blatantly flouting the environmental and safety laws. On the topic of "import drivers" I'm wondering just how many people in Mercedes or Alfa Romeos are getting pulled over in proportion to Japanese cars. This seems like an unnecesarily obtuse comparison. "Most" import drivers? I hardly think so. Certainly the younger owners have a tendency to do stupid things, but thats the same for across the board. Its like everyone saying that 'all police are bullies' based upon a single negative experience. I'm sure you'd not like members of the general public being prejudiced or rude when you're just doing your job. We don't want the idiots to spoil our enthusiasm for our cars. Work with us here. You'll find we're not the cliched idiots from the Fast and the Furious. I'm not quite sure what you mean by erratic. Was their acceleration disproportionately fast to the surrounding traffic, or were they lane switching with undue care? If they were being idiots, then you have every right to pull them over, however many of us get pulled over when driving sensibly. Well you can't say that NS is any reflection upon the members here. If one of your colleagues was caught accepting bribes, would you appreciate us thinking that all line officers are corrupt? I think not. Kind Regards, Dohmar

I think if you get a lawyer they might be able to get a combined hearing, that is one which lets the single magistrate deal with all cases at the same time. Depending on what you've done, it can either save your licence or extend the suspension. 6 months loss of licence is generally set when there's a mandatory sentence, either thru drink driving or dangerous driving. 6 months is unavoidable, and can be kept to the 6 months minimum if the lawyer can successfully argue a negative impact on you (ie you use licence for work, it'll cause u to lose income, etc). If the other counts are not mandatory loss of licence, the in most cases the magistrate will convert those into a financial penalty, such as a fine. Fess up now, what'd u do? Burnouts on someones cat while drunk? -d

I got a bluetooth kit. Synchs with my phone on the press of a button and sits on the sunvisor. Phone slots into a fixed cradle which then gets a charge from the ciggy lighter... Never failed me yet, and the voice activated dialling is sweet..... cost me $100 for the BlueAnt2, $30 for a cradle and $20 for the charger... money well spent ;D -D

Replacement Box For Gtr With Engine Mod
Dohmar replied to Dohmar's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Thats pretty reassuring.... I think I'll stick with the 32 box, the 6 speed would be nice but I'm trying to keep it as inexpensive as possible. So I'll probably get my current box reconditioned with new synchros, might cost me more than a straight 2nd hand box but at least I'll know its good for a while... that is unless someone out there is selling a 5 speed which they know is in good nick thanks for your help guys... appreciate it! -D -
hey dude, get a prius. not only will it be pedestrian, but she'll think ur so green u have sex with trees. think about it for a bit -D

Heya Folks I removed the racing seat from my R32 GTR when I bought it and replaced it with a stockie. Only problem was the previous owner had removed the stock plug so he could plug in the sensor for the aftermarket seat. Now I was wondering if anyone out there has a plug, or would I just be better off buying two plugs from dicksmiths and resoldering both ends. And come to think of it, I dont even know if the wires are color coded. Anyone know if there is a color sequence or can me multimetered to figure out the wires? Its a minor thing but I've had the car for a year and i figure i'll get off my butt and wire it up. Thanks! -D

Actually the humor is a good thing heheheh And on the note of girls who like the vehicle... yeah its cool if they like your hobby, but a damn shame if you crash ur ride and she ups n leaves ya. Happened to me once, happened to a few mates too. I think rubzy is damn lucky that he has a girl that'd stick by him thru the thick and thin, cause life can get a hell of a lot worse than just crashin' a ride. *thumbs up* and yeh, whens kellie's next cruise? This thread is OT central -D

Heyas I currently have 220kw on a stock gtr box which has a nasty synchro problem, (crunches 2nd, 3rd and 4th, very hard to shift into 1st at low motion). It had the shockproof oil in it when bought, whether that was the cause of the sync issue or an attempt to dampen the effect, I don't know. I only run mineral oil/semi synthetics in my boxes personally, not a fan of smurf blood. I mainly street the car. I occasionally launch it and I do a little bit of drag racing too, but not much. Most of the time I'm just doing the usual driving, but I do like to have the gearbox change gears as quickly as possible (bear in mind that I have to be really gentle nowdays so I dont grind so much..). Thing is, I'm gonna get new turbos and some other minor mods to try n get the engine to give me 300kw. Now, with that sort of power would the stock gearbox gears/synchros handle that enough? Depending on the answer to that, do I get a 2nd hand box, or just get my existing box's synchros/gears changed? I'm not aiming for anything super hardcore, but I don't want to spend any unnecessary cash... Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! -D

Which is one reason that the insurance companies excuse is a load of BS. If his bike hit a stobie pole, and he had comprehensive, would the insurance companies refuse to pay out based upon the fact the stobie pole was under 18 yrs old? Stupid analogy perhaps, but unless theres a specific clause in the paperwork, they have to provide the cash. Even if they don't recoup it themselves. I'd be lawyering up. Perhaps you could even sue them extra for wasting your time (Call it 'emotional distress') -D
