Depends on the industry. That door swings two ways. This bloke actually went thru 4-5 technicians a year due to his lack of people skills, that was (by the store managers estimate) at least 20 odd in the last 5 years that he had been working there (and the manager, sales people and technicians all hated working for the guy, problem being with kids on the way you cant just quit).. me, I haven't got that problem, so I was gone when I knew that it was a dead end job.... guy tried to threaten me on the phone when I told him I quit, and I just simply said that any threats would only convince me that I was making the right move. People don't have to put up with bullying in the workplace, of any sort. People like that generally blame the worker, when in actual fact they really need to work on their own mismanagement/people issues. -D

Heh I know how you feel. I only recently started in my current job (4 weeks in now) and before that I was working at a dodgy computer sales/repair shop in Salisbury.... I was there 2 weeks and the boss's attitude was absolutely abysmal.... after he childishly berated one of the sales staff (who was doing a good job imho) I went to lunch and never went back. Took me 4 weeks to get any payment out of them, and even then they decided to try n make it hard by taxing me at 47%.. Happy now. I don't suffer fools, and nobody else should. Except perhaps Mr T, who thinks everyone is a fool. -D

Have to agree with kral here. As someone whos been in a stoush with home invaders, the law is very very specific in cases inside and outside your home. When you're inside your home, you can use any means necessary to protect yourself and property IF you have a legitimate reason that your safety is at risk... this is one of the endless debating points in court.. screwdriver is a legitimate weapon, as are words, directed in the appropriate manner... When you're in the public domain, things get tricky. Thats where you have to prove a whole lot of stuff such as threat level, intent to harm/intent to kill, injuries recieved, probably injuries recieved, liability, mitigating factors and so forth. Since a "level" of probably cause has been removed (that being trespass/aggravated criminal tresspass), the prosecution has to argue the intent of the violence, the cause and mitigation. Which in most cases is a "he said, she said" situation, unless there are witnesses.. In short, while it can be fine to defend anything on your property using extreme measures, I really would not get too game with people in public. Disregarding the fact that it is very easy to be overpowered or otherwise beaten by any assailants.. I know there are a few of you with martial art degrees and/or massive size, and while laudable, still doesn't mean you'll come off well.. But in either case, if they were on my property, and they threatened me with a screwdriver, I would not hold back in the least... nor would the hounds hahah, otherwise just call the police and tell them that you're being physically threatened. they double time it. I had police at my house within 2 minutes of gunfire reported... just gotta find that way to motivate them -D

I've booked a cabin for myself, writeoff and a couple others, on the 24th-27th of April, Anzac long weekend... if you guys are interested in coming, pls msg me for more details. I have a couple people confirmed for the trip and would like to see a few more friendly faces... theres a great jetty for fishing/swimming, a pizza bar better than any in adelaide's CBD and the clearest skies you'll ever see this time of year...anyone out there wanna get away for a w/e? The fishing is good, as is the peace and quiet... -Dohmar

Yeah I always drop a couple crab nets and take some squid jigs up to moonta. Even from the jetty you can pull a nice phat haul in -D

I dunno. I find that all depends on the person who is dominating/being dominated. You'd wanna check with the manufacturer to see if it works in conjunction with a ball gag, and if there are any restraint loops to help keep your gimps under control.. oh hangon.. whoops

I Am 17 On My P's What Car Would Be Best For Me?
Dohmar replied to rustykilla's topic in South Australia
Attitude is great but there are somethings you can only learn via driving for a while... how to feel a wet road for example, when and how to change gears, rev ranges and all that. There is no substitute for experience, but the right attitude does help a bucketload. I think its amusing how many kids get behind a wheel and all of a sudden think theyre on par with an F1 driver... -D -

Hahah thats funny as. And yeah, the comparison is pretty weak, Lewis Hamilton was driving way before most, while learning on a racetrack where they have such things as safety crews.... Experience is everything, and if I can write off an R31 doing 20kph, then anything is possible in a turbo; difference is, it was much much cheaper to buy, maintain, repair and insure, and it had more than enough power for me to take 4 people around the city, with luggage, and get decent range on the highway. It was also on LPG so it was economical as hell. Having only got my GTR last year when I was 28, and it being my first turbo, I can agree that its a whole different ball park to a NA. The extra power is unforgiving if you havent got the experience to use it. That said, the GTS-4 NA would be a great car to have, but its 3-4 times the cost of an aussie R31.... AE87's and the pulsars are good buys too.... do your health and wallet a favour, and get a NA car as your first one. Because you >will< end up breaking something, even if you drive like a granny. -D -

Get an Aussie R31.... that was my first car. Sure, theyre not as pretty as more modern lines, but they handle well, are cheap to run, cheap to fix, and the 3 lt engine is nothing to sniff at -D -
OK Folks..... I've chosen Anzac Day, 25th of April, Friday, for the beginning of a 2 day Moonta cruise/fishing/caravan pk trip for those who are keen.... I'll pretty much stay overnight Friday and Sat, drive back Sunday cause I gotta work Mon... most others will be workers too I'm guessing... I have obligations for dawn service on Anzac day, but the afternoon is generally free for me. I'm thinking we all meet up there around 6pm on the Friday, take some pics and then everyone goes and checks into their accomodation. I don't do itineraries but I think I'll personally be found on the jetty most of the time, and will have a mass BBQ on sunday afternoon around 2pm before I drive back to Adelaide... feel free to make your own plans, but the more from SAU I see there the bigger my grin will be So shoutout if you're keen, if your free. If you have a boat, there IS a launch at Port Hughes not less than 10km south... would LOVE to see some boats out there > Oh yeah and its time some of these fishing experts showed me how to do it, cause I suuuuuck... -D

You're both correct but its more a heat issue... if the material cools too fast it can warp/shatter/get fractures, and/or sieze a bearing if said bearing hasnt got the lubricant keeping it cool as it changes state... I have one built into my car alarm. its great... the keyfob has the shutdown override so I can leave the car, lock up and either wait the 90/180 secs for shutdown, or double click the fob to get it to shutdown immediately... if cops pull me over, double click the fob before getting out.... works every time -D

dang, thats impressive... never caught anything that big ;\
