Yeah I'm not thinking that far ahead, I had Adelaide Cup weekend in mind, or Easter weekend.... try to hold it while the seasons are still nice... Adelaide Cup is a fortnight from now, so its short notice but its my preferred time to do this. Would u guys need more notice? I personally wont stay the sunday night, but friday and sat.... I use monday to recover hehe (and theres also a meet on cup day iirc about the new track iirc) -D

Writeoff was doing some research for car alarms around the time I was going to get one, so I asked his advice.. He was set on the Mongoose as well, but spoke to Chris Rogers who indicated that'd he'd be having a lot of returns on the Mongoose units he'd installed. CR told him that the next best would be and alternative brand, which is why both Writeoff and myself ended up getting the brand he recommended. George from Adelaide Pro Sound installed it for both of us and they came with microwave sensors as part of our installations... In short, the Mongoose are good alarms, provided u dont get a dodgy one. Had mine installed for nearly 9 months now and it's been great... -D

Mongoose are a pretty good brand but theyve had a lot of failures.... theres a few other good ones on the market (tho im not saying what brand mine is hehe)... Speak to george at Adelaide pro Sound, he can recommend a good one, and do the install for it. I've been very happy with his work -D

Ahh that makes sense to me.. shows how much I know about building heh Still if the glue didnt stick, perhaps a couple of screws/nails wouldve been enuff to keep it up? Hrm. But then I spose you'd have to remove them to re-glue the roof on. If it were my GTR, i'd be wanting blood as well.. -D

Yeah the chassis is twisted. thats gonna be a pain in the butt to fix... good luck with that ;\ (Not sure if regency will pass cars with fixed chassis, I seem to recall something about that when I called them when I was interested in buying Cowie's GTR...)

Yeah everyones welcome. Pretty much just rock up and do your own thing As long as people take care of their own accomodation/groups then it should be an easy thing to do. I got a mate coming with me in the GTR and we'll get a cabin to share, tho the tent spots are quite nice too (on the beachfront) so really all depends on how much you want to rough it... and if we wanna take some photos, the carpark near the jetty is a good place for us to show our wares -D Edit ; And while I say 'do yer own thing' I'd definately have a couple communal things planned like a sunday bbq (good facilities there) and possibly pizza at the bayside cafe, in addition to hanging out on the jetty and having a few drinks while happily depleting the blue crab/squid/whiting population

I called MTQ today and they quited $2850 for a pair or N1 equivalent turbos for the R32 gtr. he said theyre bolt on but may need some machining to get the oil mounts/holes to line up. dunno specifically what he meant as I dont really know about this stuff, but if people have had problems with any rebuilder, i certainly wouldnt risk my money... on the same token, i dont think im hardcore enough to get my parts made/reconned interstate.... there has to be someone decent locally imho... -D

Yep yep, and then there is that nice nice carpark near the jetty, with that cafe that makes the most pimp pizzas in the region... I usually take an esky full of beverages, an esky full of foods/bbq meat and one to put the fishing catch into Car fridges come in very handy at that place.. I just wish they had a bonfire. Theres nothing better than having a communal bonfire with marshmallows, sausages, baked taters and all the rest that goes with it *wink* -D

Heya folks Around this time of year I head to Moonta bay caravan park for a nice drive, some fishing, bbq and general relaxation... Was wondering if any of u guys would like to join me? I haven't got a specific date or time in mind, nothing concrete, but I reckon if we have a few folks go down for the weekend we can have a bit of fun. Boozing, Poker, fun with the ocean and the ubiquitous bbq roasting of meats.... I'd aim for a long weekend... but would probably call it on the sunday, so we can drive home before the blitz, as well as getting monday to recover at home... Anything goes really So what say ye? -D *EDIT Can get yourselves Tents with or without power and cabins, or you can take your own campervan/trailer tent/caravan.... the rates are pretty good, seen here at http://www.adelaidecaravanpark.com.au/mta-tariffs.asp Its not for everyone I'll have to admit, but the 2 hr drive there and back is quite cruisy, and given the right time, u can bag a load of crabs or fish or squid... or just go swimming

Yeah that wakefield stuff is messed up. nothing left of the rex... while I can appreciate that there are a tonne of older folks that are all for drag strips, I'd have to question whether or not they're in the majority... I get evil looks from a load of old people, maybe cause my exhaust is loud.... certainly not due to speed or acceleration, I need my licence for work more than I need to hit the pedal, so I don't worry about that stuff.... A petrolhead will remain just that as they grow older.... its the ones who aren't involved in motorsport, that don't understand...they shit me, cause Im sure you and your mates would be keen on a drag strip (if not for safety then for themselves to have a bit of a run).... personally I don't drag, but would like to see one out there, like u said, so the port wakefield incident et al doesnt happen, and also to get the cops off our back a bit. Sled I wouldn't have written it if I didn't believe it, feel free to disagree tho. However you're right, generalizing them all is as bad as them generalizing that all skyline owners are car hoons. It seems most people forget what they got up to as a kid, when it comes time for them to head to the retirement village. -D
