looks like a bargain gotta expect a few little bits of damage when you get a car imported and the stuff listed is all minor -D
-
welcome if you can get an r34 gtt within your budget, I say go for it Sure you might be able to get a 32 or 33 but 34s are still relatively modern and a lot less expensive to maintain and keep on the road there are some nice ones out there, look around, dont get rushed into any purchases - once you find the right one you'll know it enjoy your stay -D
-
aside from AA lol -D
-
if your gtt was imported under the 15 year rule you may do what you like with the exhaust provided its quiet enough, and Pod filters are legal provided they are secured to the engine bay and not flopping around loosely. If I were you, I'd call up the police station this officer is attached to, tell them you've spoken to regency and they say the mods listed as defectable are completely legal. In some cases they will simply cancel the defect notice. Not always, but its worth a shot. -D

how old are u? I think you'd be able to find some caveat somewhere unless you've lost ur licence for the 2nd time... -D Edit - for comparison, I'm on $1450 premium with $1k excess, age 31, rating 1, stock(ish) gtr valued at $30k

I think it'd be relatively easy for anyone under 25 with a so called 'performance vehicle' to get an exemption based upon the fact they've already purchased the vehicle before the legislation was approved or publicised - I doubt they'll be forcing people to sell their cars just to qualify for a new law (ie i doubt the law will be retroactively enforced). Just hope the majority of you sensible people out there get your P1/2's before the nominated date, otherwise the next couple of years are going to be a pain in the arse.. -D
-
I agree with most of those rules, however it says "Nominated High Performance Vehicles" which >could< be abused by the authorities if they don't bring out a set of guidelines to determine what is and is not a high performance vehicle..." Interesting to note, a 1.3lt mini with a supercharger will be prohibited even tho it has a very low power output... Aside from that, I'm all for youngsters getting banned from high performance vehicles on the road - I hope that it encourages younger petrolheads to get on the track and go nuts there while developing some skills i know a bunch of you are under 25 and are responsible, hardcore enthusiasts but its one of those cases where the dickheads have screwed up so often that the inevitable conclusion is more police scrutiny and higher insurance premiums - which nobody wants... -D

I got a pull from a 33gtr that will be going into mine after its converted to push, then I'll be selling the one thats currently in there does not include transfer case tho - literally just the gearset and bell housing. if you're happy to wait for it, i'll sell it to ya but it wont be going in there for a few weeks -D

My cousin is in a similar situation, already a registered nurse however shes been doing the Midwife upgrade course which entails having to do (x) amount of deliveries and they dont get paid for it. She only has 2 more to go thankfully, cause like you guys, her family could really deal with the extra cash (or paid work instead of unpaid work in other words) Pretty rough really, hardly a surprise we don't have more nurses. What dept does Tracy work in at WCH ? Thats where my cousin is based... -D

I dont have stock suspension however I do have a set of street legal teins (non adjustable and legal ride height) that you can buy for $500 pm me if keen re airfilter, if you have pods they are legal provided they are secured to the engine bay and not just dangling around loosely. -D
-
theyre direct feed low impedance top feed denso style injectors so if you have an rb26 then yes, they are a direct fit they also come in 1800 and 2000cc variants -D
-
he would however banning someone for having a contrary opinion is a dog act and our mods are not dogs and thats why it wont happen -D
-
if in any case you need injectors, ive been able to import US injectors for sau members before at the cheapest price avail (depending on exchange rate of course) luke got 1600cc injectors or something ludicrous, chad got 1000's, and i think matty got 700's if not 555's along with dion my 575's are running great in my engine. however i have other issues that need fixing (wont go OT) if you need 30% more fuel and u get 30% + more power I would say its a practical upgrade, as you're sacrificing range for power (assuming the fuel tank wasnt enlarged).. its an unavoidable trait with e85 incidentally, some environmentalists are claiming e85 is dirtier than p98 oct. this is true in a sense, it develops more soot, however the soot is heavier than air and it makes its way into the soil. Studies done in the 80s which compared unleaded and leaded fuels found that in the long run the leaded fuels were better >for air quality< than unleaded as the lead oxide would cause the element to sink to soil level and be absorbed in the dirt obviously, this is a bad thing for farmers, and anyone who deals with soil of any sort, however it proved that a heavier element would be more environmentally friendly than premium 98. e85 by products actually are heavier than premium - they form a soot which sinks to the ground, but from what my limited understanding about petrochemicals entails, the carbon sinks into the ground and gets absorbed from the atmosphere the same way the old leaded petroleums did. Of course there is also a multitude of environmental concerns regarding ethanol based petroleum, I think it will come down to being able to efficiently generating the substance as a by product rather than actually consuming more electricity than it puts out via its distillation process. (Not an issue if we have nuclear power stations and cheaper electricity but since we're a bunch of backward mofos we cant really expect anything great) E85 - Awesome in theory, but some fundamental issues need to be addressed before we can expect it to be common enough for daily use. Wicked for racing but. Just as indycar (they run methanol but hey, its not that much different) -D
