  1. if u want an upgrade I can usually get decent prices from the US depending on what style/size injector u need -D
  2. lol all good rubes, wasnt inferring you in any case - seen a few threads get dug up across the forum recently, as long as theyre still relevant I dont see the problem i'd be more annoyed if someone started a duplicate thread -D
  3. Well said. People need to relax when an old thread gets bumped - its there for a reason -D
  4. Odd. You've got a cleaner record than most people out there, including myself... lets see.... Red light camera fine in my mums sigma(19) 1 speeding fine in my mums sigma (20) PCA (age 21) in my r31 (crashed) Driving with undue care (age 21, same incident as above) in my r31 (crashed) 2 speeding fines on the R31 (age 22-24) 2 speeding fines on the VN commodore (25-26) 3 speeding fines on the R32 GTR (28-30) crashed the r31 twice with the 2nd time being a complete write off, and yet I've always kept my rating 1, regardless of the insurance company (AAMI, Justcars and Shannons) its weird how they work it out - if I was an insurer I'd be more inclined to give Damo insurance than myself -D
  5. those are 5.8ghz antennae, not sure if they work on the 2.4ghz frequency. 2nd link looks better for ya -D
  6. Are you 25 yet? If not, that's probably the only thing stopping ya -D
  7. could be running very rich... best bet is to take it to someone like road & track or boostworx/southern hitech dyno and get them to run the car on the dyno with an air/fuel ratio sensor that'll tell you whats going wrong in many cases -D
  8. I got a 5 watt Feidaxin from ebay for $80.... plenty of good chinese CB's that have loads of power and a bunch of features. I bought mine with a USB programming cable so I can do fun stuff with repeaters and the like able to talk to my mate in Henley Beach and I'm near Hampstead Gardens so thats quite a way - and thats without upgrading the antennae -D
  9. do u wear pressure braces on ur knees? probably a dumb question but i use em on my wrists for RSI sounds like u need some bionic knees dude, either that or get em chopped off and get a couple of struts bolted to ur femur and get urself a spare rim and run a single toyo r1r on it... -D
  10. I'd suggest metho/rubbing alcohol and a scrubbin brush (like one of those spongy things u use to wash dishes that has the abrasive backing) Thats if u cant get the acid bath like black32 mentioned - that'd be the shiznit -D
  11. Cats are natures own pop up targets -D
  12. couple 4wd sr20 powered gtir pulsars on carsales atm for around that price -D
  13. Depends vu, did u get done going over 20 kph ? ;\ the difference in speed is a factor here (Hence his $400 odd fine rather than $200) -D
  14. Ditto, providing its not too soon. Cars gonna be off the road for a month or so -D
  15. Challenging the photographic evidence or the calibration of the speed/laser gun is your only way out. A second appeal will usually fail - even if you need it for work. Waiting the 21 days before paying the fine MAY work but only if the expiation authority uses the available demerit points when they process it rather than the amount of demerit points available on the day. That said a judge wont look favourably to that level of speeding, even if it was a first offence I doubt any appeal would be sustained. My 2c? Get a lawyer. -D
  16. Also probably a good idea to not let people know what alarm you have ;P I know its unlikely that any SAU member will be considering stealing a car but even car crims in lizbef have net access nowadays -D
  17. Highly Highly unlikely. For them to be able to tell theyd not only have to remove kick panel and check ecu, they'd have to disassemble the ECU Very unlikely they would do this -D
  18. well im not a mechanic, but from what i understand, modding the cams changes the efficiency curve, ie it might burn richer at lower rpms but be geared for upper end power... each car has a certain emissions target due to the standards of the day, and so regency sometimes use this as an excuse a gas analyzer will not only tell the air fuel ratio but how many hydrocarbons are being generated and what type they are - again I don't know the details but like the others have said, forged internals will be fine - its more cam and ignition timing that changes the efficiency of the engine under certain conditions this bloke with the v8 was pretty pissed off cause changing cams on his particular engine wasn't anywhere near as easy as doing a DOHC engine like an RB -D
  19. very! do they have any more Andrew ? -D
  20. Try Microsoft Security Essentials Its free. and it works. -D
  21. Sumitomo (fyi) -D
  22. Guess you were lucky then dude... knowing regency, I wouldnt give them the rope to hang me with... Also, a customer of my mechanics had a very lumpy cam put into his commodore - 3 weeks later he was defected because the police officer suspected modification (due to the idle creep) and sent him down to regency who then told him he could only keep the cams if it passes the emissions test. No idea if he had the test done as I've heard that emissions tests arent cheap - just think its something to be wary of. Like Damo said tho, they wont strip ur engine apart to see whats in it, but its really not hard to chuck a gas analyzer on the exhaust and see how its running... -D
  23. If you change the cams, they'll be able to notice it by the idle, if not the emissions (if they do an emissions test that is). Stock turbos rebuilt with steel wheels will be undetectable if theyre in the stock turbo housing however you wont be able to have a boost controller fitted as that is a defectable mod. Depends on how stock you go - obviously getting new gaskets, seals, springs, forged internals etc are just replacement parts but if they suspect you've worked the engine they can quite easily suggest an emissions test - and lumpy cams are a dead giveaway -D
  24. Saw some nice restored cars at Road & Track... A 540hp Detomasso with a worked Cleveland V8 Looks evil IMHO 57 Chevy Bel Air with a highstall and something meaty underneath (didnt have time to ask) and a 68 HK Holden Love the difference in available space under the bonnet between an old holden and our skylines -D
  25. A good pet is always worth the drive, and he looks like a real cutie Always liked staffies.... great guard dogs, good with kids and not prone to going neurotic or getting fat For my money tho, when I get a dog it'll be a Boerboel (provided I have a big yard) -D
