  1. Where do you get these remote starters from? I know it's not hard to turn a key, but if I can start the car and let it warm up while i'm having breakfast, all the better! Cheers, Eek
  2. Hello all, just a bit of advice. I sent my R33 in for a wheel alignment, balance and rotation the other day at Fulcrum in Brisbane on the southside. The wheel balance and alignment was done, but they did not rotate the wheels. I rang and asked why they did not do them, and the reply was "the technician decided it was better for the best wheels to be at the front. This is standard policy". This is not what I asked for. I specifically asked twice for the wheels to be rotated. I paid for a wheel rotation and balance - it should have been done. At the least they should have called me about this instead of making a presumption. Fulcrum were good enough to offer me a free wheel alignment next time I go there (if I go there again) when I complained about this. So just make sure if you are dealing with these people to check they have done what you have asked and paid for. A question: Why should the better wheels (with more tread left on them) be at the front of the car? For better grip during cornering? Because the skyline is rear wheel drive, I thought It would be better to have more grip at the rear to keep traction, and better power delivery (and cause it wears the tyres out more quickly at the rear). Thanks, Eek
  3. Hello all, just wondering if anybody out there knows what the "Engine Control" fuse in the "IGN" section of the fuse box (the driver's side fuse box on a R33) is for/what is protects? It would be nice to know, as it seems that little fuse cost me $140 in towing and a damaged front bar! The truth is out there! Cheers, Eek
  4. Thanks for all of your replies. I checked the AFM, and it seemed to be ok. It was clean. After a bit of searching my cousin noticed something strange - that being a plastic plug was sitting on the exhaust manifold. I shouldn't say sitting, it was melted onto the exhaust manifold. Turns out the plug from the O2 sensor in the exhuast has somehow come loose and melted, causing the plug to short or something (not exactly sure). It's mostly intact. Thing was that the plug was cabled-tied (the plastic ones) to a rubber hose way above the exhaust manifold. I wonder how that broke...... Anyway, the car would not start. Checked the fuse box, and the "Engine Control" fuse in the "IGN" (I presume ignition) section was blown. I replaced it and the car started just fine. It seemed to run ok. I wil be taking it back to the mechanic to get the plug replaced and the car checked - thouroughly. I thought this should have been picked up in a major service, if it did not happen afterwards... Does anyone know what the "Engine Control" fuse protects/is for? I translated the japanese from the fuse box, that's why i know it's name. Cheers. Eek
  5. Hello all! I need help - any clues as to why my car wont run. Here's what happened. Just had my car serviced and a new pod filter installed. Drove the car last night about 25km's. I pulled up at a set of lights, and the engine started to idle bad. The engine then died. I could not start it again. I got it onto the side of the road and tried it again. It started, bad idle, and cut out again. It did this numerous times. RACQ were no help, so I had to get the bastard towed. Tried the car this morning and it will not start. The car tries to start, but it will not run!! Any ideas will help, so I can take it back to the mechanic with a few ideas! Thanks in advance, Eek
  6. Hi, I am very very interested in the intercooler if it is still for sale. I am in Brisbane also. Can you please send any pics to [email protected] I'm am willing to come and have a look at it. Cheers, Eek
  7. Hello. Where abouts in aussie are you? I'm interested, and I'm in Brisbane. Cheers, Eek
  8. Hi guys! My brother has a N15 Pulsar SSS and I wanted to know if anybody out there knows of a SSS forum (like we have going on here for the skylines)? A web address would be very handy indeed! Also, does anybody know what is a great tyre (in the normal, standard size trye/rim combo) for the N15 SSS? Thanks in advance for all of your help! Eek
  9. Well, yeah, you are right! It can be very hard to drive a skyline easy! But when she starts slippin, and you are going nowhere you dont really want to hurt your baby! As for the heavy duty clutch, I have found it ok so far. It's a little harder, but you expect that. Changes can be marginally quicker (for me anyway). The only thing I have found so far that is annoying is that when the car is cold, I have to pump the clutch a few times to get more pressure in the lines. I think that may be a problem though, so I'm going to get it checked. Eek
  10. Hi All, I recently had my clutch replaced too. Must be something in the air! I drove it for about 4 weeks while it was slipping, and it got me places - just couldn't drive it hard. my 2 cents, Eek
  11. Hi guys, I use APC on Brisbane's southside. They seem to be pretty good to me. So far they have replaced my coils, installed boost controller & guage and serviced the car. They also work on a yellow mistu evo 3 that ran at the drag combat. And other performance cars. So I guess they are doing something right. Eek
  12. Guys, just wondering what anyone thinks of Falken tyres? My current Bridgestone Potenza's are about to give up the ghost, and last time I checked the price of them it was huge! The falken's were more reasonably priced, so does anyone out there have them on their skyline? Impressions? Durability?? Cheers, Eek mmm tyres about to be replaced, guess that means some :burnout: , followed by a bit of :burnout:
  13. Thanks Zero! I think I'd like to learn on a CBR250 - at least for 6 months or so. Are import bikes ok, or should I stay well away from them? (Don't knock it - it's cheep!) And if I do get a bike, I might give you a shout one time and go for a blast! Thanks for the offer. Cheers, Eek
  14. Hi All, I'm wondering who has got a motorbike out there - and what they think of em?? I'm looking at buying a bike, prolly a little 250cc due to money and having never ridden a bike before. So in your own opinions, which 'second hand' bike would be the best to get? And are they more fun/less fun than the skyline?? Cheers, Eek:cool:
  15. Hey lads, I was in the US last year. I bought a Sony Active Black Display head unit (CD-M670 i think) over there and brought it back with me. First of all, when I came back, it had not been released in Aussie yet. Secondly, when it did get released, I paid about $500 Aus. less for it then what it was selling for in the shops. I installed it with no problems at all. I can get all of the Australian radio stations. My advice is to check the radio frequency band to make sure you can get triple j! Eek
  16. Hey All, I'm Luke. My skyline is: Wine Red '94 R33 GTST Zorst, 18" Chromies, Front spoiler (rest of the bodykit is coming when I save some damn money). I work in the city for an IT company, so my car is generally around the city a lot. Other than that, I live around the Springwood area. Oh and U2 rock! Anyways, Eek
