  1. I have one an R32 GTR that needs a couple of grand and some TLC. Don't have the time or effort to bother with it at the moment.
  2. Until you're able to furnish any documents that demonstrate the authenticity of your mileage, it counts for nothing. I do highly, highly doubt your 60,000 odd km are legitimate but feel free to actually prove me wrong. Also frustrates the hell out of me that people advertise a car for sale and then state "I don't actually want to sell it". Seems like a waste of time on your behalf and that of any potential buyers, considering your asking price (even though you don't want to sell the car) is substantially above what any sane person would pay. Don't mean to be offensive but these points are relevant.
  3. I'd start by putting the correct plugs in there for sure. At least one boost leak is probable. As for the free-revving, not entirely sure.
  4. I wouldn't consider that true by any standard. A well modified car will generally be close to road worthy anyway. An engine rebuild won't have any effect on a road worthy. A road worthy is first and foremost concerned with making sure the vehicle is in a safe operating condition. Most guys I've ever been to are more concerned about lights, leaks, tyres etc then looking at my modifications. So long as they're not poorly done.
  5. This is very true, the problem with the GT-R is that the general age of the vehicles mean that a lot of wear and tear replacement is needed. For myself, I simply didn't have time to replace things as they were worn out. It would need to be left for a week or two until I could put time aside. So I could in theory daily mine but when anything needed replacing, I'd need to use my other car until I found time to fix the GT-R. They are a car that can be daily driven but they're not going to be the cheapest of easier car to daily and I think none of us are under the illusion they are.
  6. I did daily mine for a period of time but honestly I wouldn't daily an R32 GT-R unless you have a second car and then in that respect, why would you daily it when you DO have a second car? I've had a few things wear out/break like the clutch, fuel pump, CV boots, dump pipe leak and I can thoroughly say it would be painful to only own one car or expect the GT-R to be a daily when things like this happen. If I had to send it into the workshop every time something little went wrong as I needed the car back ASAP, I'd be in the whole for even more than the car cost me.
  7. Well without putting the car on a dyne before and after (and then why wouldn't you get a tune anyway?) you won't be able to tell apart from the seat of your pants. You can run the turbo over 15psi but there's obviously a much higher chance of it falling apart. 12-14psi is usually what is considered safe.
  8. You're not going to get anywhere by responding like that. If you feel you can get what you're asking then that's great but don't worry about the replies. They will be cleaned up if deemed to be inappropriate. Most people aren't having a dig, they're just offering an honest opinion. I myself think you'll struggle to touch $7800 for that.
  9. Funny thing is, the OP probably didn't want to pay the 6-8k or whatever to purchase an R32 GTS locally and was trying to shave dollars off by importing. To the OP: As lame as it sounds; you are better off buying a lancer and leaving it dead standard until you get off your provisional license. Put any money saved away and start using it when you have a car you want to keep for a long time.
  10. Without being able to list specific costs, I can tell you that you'd be wasting your money and time importing an R32 GTS.
  11. This. I bought an R32 GT-R that needed work and honestly all it has been is an expensive headache. For that one brief moment it works, you remember why you love the car but does it actually make up for everything else? They're an ageing war house that was over 100k to buy when new. They do need a lot of components replaced if you want them to be reliable beyond puttering around these days.
  12. The wheels are literally disgusting. But good on you for putting some work in. Enjoy it.
  13. Up until the ferarri 458 came out, the F20C in the Honda s2000 was the most powerful naturally aspirated engine per litre in a car and that made approximately 124hp at the flywheel per litre. 248hp with 2.0L . The F20C is a supremely different engine to the Rb25de. the Rb25de was not made for power, that's what the Rb25det was for. Is it possible to make 300hp from a smaller capacity N/A engine? Yes. Is it possible to make 300hp from an rb25de? Possibly. Can do you it for less then you'd make 500kw from an rb25det? No. It's definitely not worth you time or money.
  14. Double post.
  15. Another in the perpetual problems associated with my GTR in the last 6 months. Story is; the stock fuel pump died and I replaced that with a bosch 040 and ran the direct wire to it and the car fired up again. Ever since I've put this pump in I've had nothing but problems. If I sit the car for more than 12 hours or so it won't start. I believe it could be something to do with the priming or lack of. When I turn the key, I can hear the pump prime but I often have to wait and prime the pump 2 or 3 times before the car will eventually start again. Any insight into what this problem is caused by would be very helpful!
