  1. Can confirm this from when I used to own one. That being said, you those looks from atleast one niche of society when you own a sport car. I get filthy looks from commodore bogans every time I take the skyline out. Also had a few in the 350z.
  2. Bigger injections, fuel lines and fully tuned to use it for starters. It's not cheap to do and It's not something you should be thinking about until your car makes over 300kw on pump fuel. Just use premium 98
  3. If you want a comfortable daily, buy a stock auto something. If you want to keep a modified sports car as a daily; cop it sweet. I wouldn't be driving an R33 GTR two hours each way to work anyway, just saying
  4. You're really doing this well and I admire it. Despite this, I am glad that mine came with very few body defects.
  5. This. If you don't like what it costs to fill, either sell the car or drive it less. Generally, skyline owners are car enthusiasts. If you like your car that much then what petrol costs a tank is irrelevant.
  6. Don't drive the car until you get the injectors fitted and even then I'd limp it or get it towed to the tuning shop to get the timing fixed up. It would need to be tuned with GTR injectors regardless.
  7. Sounds like a bit of a dreamer wishlist. I'm sorry.
  8. Both already said: You know you drive a Skyline when you see another Skyline on the road and feel compelled to tell everyone else within earshot. You drive your $30,000 350Z as a daily because you don't want to wreck your $8000 R32 GTST
  9. I enjoy having multiple cars. 3 infact. '98 CE lancer, '92 R32 GTS-T and a '04 350Z, the latter I am still paying off (high disposable income kicks ass) The lancer was my first car and I never intended to keep it. But being 20 and a student, the car is usually parked out in the sun and on dirt at work. I really couldn't bring myself to park my skyline, with such a high sentimental value, nor the 350Z with a high monetary value out in the dirt to get damaged.
  10. Have you thought about aftermarket cam gears? Especially the exhaust gear. They have good results on RB20's. Can provide higher top-end and should bring on full boost 400-500 rpm earlier.
  11. Try regapping the 1.0 to 0.8mm and see if that fixes it. Could well be the coilpacks. Given that the car is 21 years old, the coilpacks will be on their way out and by changing the plugs you could have disrupted how they sat. regardless, it's probably better to regap your plugs anyway. Hopefully it will solve the problem though.
  12. Given that you changed the fuel pump and fuel filter, it sounds like the car might not be getting enough fuel under load. What pump did you change it to? and how much fuel have you had in the tank? Also, give the AAC a clean up near the throttle body. Might not be the problem now, but it often gives similar symptoms when it's dirty.
  13. HCR32 283739 Cheers guys!
  14. Moral of the story; You get what you pay for, if it looks too good to be true it probably is. If anyone actually buys one of these, they should donate their car to a better cause.
  15. Level of the tank? When you installed the new pump, did you rewire it? Like you should.
  16. Your best bet woud be to take out all the parts you want in your car and have them crated over to australia and have them put in an r32/33 shell. Then either return your car in New Zealand to stock and sell it or just part it. It's not a finanicially viable sitution. By the time you put a stock motor, seats, wheels, exhaust and then pay the related import costs, you'll have probably gone over the car's value. Also that would be a lot of dicking around to have all that done from another country. Seems a bit much to put a new motor in just for a boat right.
  17. Exactly. Tricks the car into thinking it's colder, therefore dumping more fuel into the engine. Will it work? Marginally. Is it terrible for your engine? Well...
  18. It's all setup correctly (as per instructions). Might just delete it and unpack the rars again. It's strange. I put in the vin and sometimes it gives me the build date and nothing else. The rest of the time it says "CD error".
  19. Sold two + months ago chief
  20. Never take advice from any employee of a autobarn/repco/supercheap as bible. At the end of the day a lot of them just sell parts and have no idea what they're doing. Granted however, you do get some that know their stuff.
  21. http://imports.motortraders.net/imports/se...e&period=79 Some answers will be in the appropriate links. While I'm here, my nissan fast is playing up. Says CD player error when I enter a vin. If anyone has any idea how to correct this I'd appreciate it. In the meantime, if anyone could check my vin it would be awesome. HCR32 283739
  22. Don't know a heap on the subject, but you need to consider what you want out of the experience. Do you want that feeling of accomplishment? (although, since you won't be doing a heap of work yourself, it might be less applicable) We all know that cars are a liability. By building you will get something that is truly yours, build for you. BUT you'll also pay a lot more for it. Buying something (provided you do your research) will get you a tried and tested performer. With all the building and teething problems taken care of. You might get less respect for buying a fast car rather than building one, but your wallet would be much fuller. Personally, and this is based purely on personal preference, I'm partial to a quick R32GTR. But given their age, you'll probably be more likely to run into problems.
  23. In my personal opinion, you're most certainly within your rights as the buyer in this circumstance to ask for a full refund/replacement. As I've read above, the seller has a list of policies. Followinng which, you're entitled to a refund. I think it's irrelevant the seller was unaware goods were damaged whilst still in the package. He should have known better. If you saw photos and made an agreement to purchase the item in the condition photographed, then you've made a contract to purchase that item in that condition. Regardless of whether the seller damaged the item or not, he agreed to sell you 'X' item in a certain condition. This was not fulfilled.
  24. He said that over a year ago. However, I thought the same thing too when I read it. Had no idea the 110 had gotten approval at all.
