Seems to be a common problem with Rb20dets these days. Upon cold starts my R32 the idle is rough and tends to hunt and drop after the throttle is released. The second problem is the car tends to jerk under partial throttle, almost like a surge. Upon WOT the problem isn't apparent. Both these problems are only whilst the car is cold. They disappear as soon as running temp is reached. I've gone down all the usual avenues. The BOV wasn't plumbed back and I did it a while ago. Cleaned AAC valve, reset ecu, changed plugs, swaped coilpack looms, changed coilpacks, cleaned AFM. Could it be a throttle sensor problem with the second issue? If anyone has any insight it would be highly appreciated.

Jdm Tuning Scene In Japan Today
Truffles replied to Iron Mike's topic in General Automotive Discussion
From readining reading posts like this over the years, I've gathered the tuning car scene in Japan was in steady decline. I've heard it does still exist but it's not as obviously and the information as readily available here. I guess it's harder being a foreigner and no speaking fluent Japanese to try and find these sort of non-official events. Most photos I'd ever seen of sports cars, as Ironchef said, were parked in garages/reccesses off the street and seldom driven. Given the volume they were sold in, they don't treasure those cars over there like we do here. Some do, but a relative comparison would be how many well sorted VT commodores do we see around (not many in my case)? Everyone has scraped them and moved on to something newer. I'll still visit Japan in the next 2 years. The culture over there looks so interesting and different to here. If I happen to see a few genuine JDM 90's sports cars, bonus. -
How did you set it up and how much fuel was in the tank?
-
LOL wut? So instead of getting you're $1000 deposit back (which you were legally entitled to) you were contemplating paying another $1700 (which he can't legally make you do) but you decided to still buy the car (which you shouldn't have). Logic. SRS.

I guess having a clean car isn't cool anymore

Im No Longer In The Nissan Stables..
Truffles replied to adamskill's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Well lucky he bought the WRX, a good 14 months ago.. -
Come on now, I wasn't talking about datsuns. lulz.

I split my daily duties between two cars but I get about that 450km/tank mark with 280KW. I actually get better fuel ecconemy in my R32 GT-R than I did in my GTS-T because the off boost drivability is a lot better. As we all know, you need to rev the nuts off an RB20 to make it move. Not that I had to do much in general driving, but I had to hit boost more often.

Wtd R34 Gtr 40G Or Under?
Truffles replied to skyline032's topic in For Sale (Private Whole cars only)
This is a for sale, not a wanted section. Also, I can garantee that even if you do manage to find an R34 GTR (you won't find a Vspec) for $40,000 or under, it will be a bucket of shit and cost you a lot more than you ever bargain for. -
When someone is posting on a message board at 4:19pm, usually amounts to nothing.

R34Gtr Tune: Opinions Wanted Please.
Truffles replied to johno34's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
What turbos did you have on it? You've specified they're no longer standard but not what they are. -
If it's a coupe, to my knowledge they're all 4 seaters.
-
Skylines were all 4 seaters from factory.
-
I've always just used standard NGK copper plugs and just changed them every 5000km. General thoughts are that platniums or more expensive plugs aren't usually worth it.
-
Same applies to over 25's in Queensland. Few concessions made for them Certainly sound like one to be honest. Screamers = Stupid attention seeking crap. Also, yes it was the BOV that was causing you to stall coming back down from revs. Unless your car is tuned for an atmo BOV, the ECU assumes the air that was just vented goes back into the intake.

Just read, read, read. You'll learn all you need to know from this website. Chances are that if anyone has ever thought of a question, you'll be able to search and find the answer here. Nothing against you personally, but a lot of people will see the question you asked as the cardinal sin of skyline ownership. Bright side is that your knowledge base will only improve from here.

Nearly anything is possible, if you have the money. However, the amount of money you'd need to do this, you won't earn in 2 years. In short; Buy a GTR when off your provisional license. No GTR Skyline ever came as a 2WD/RWD car. Part of why they're a lot more expensive then their GTS-T/GT-T counterparts.

R32 Gtr Nismo Edition.
Truffles replied to evilmidgetdude's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
You'd be flat pressed getting 30 grand for an R32 GTR that isn't mint (and I mean like brand new mint) or very cleanly highly modified. -

Pre-cat O2 sensor is on your dump pipe, just after your turbo in the engine bay. -

Splitfire Coil Packs Were Can I Buy Them And Get Tuned
Truffles replied to Mhy33's topic in Queensland
People need to take into account that replacing parts (where applicable) with new ones (not even upgrades. Splitfires aren't even better than Nissan factory coils, they're just a lot cheaper and easier to source) will make a world of a difference. These are 10-20 year old cars and things get tired and need to be replaced. I tire of people going "My car is shit ect because it keeps missfiring". Old parts have fatigue and begin to breakdown/reduce performance. Life. To OP. Have a knowledgeable person look over your car to diagnose the fault and replace what's nessessary. Chances are it is your coilpacks though. -
I'm sure there would be quite a few fabrication jobs associated. If I'm correct, one of them would be that the R32 still uses a mechanical speedo, whereas the R34 would be electronic.
-
Your idea is not legal. GTR skylines, regardless of series are on the restricted list (yes, even the new list). You cannot drive one regardless of what engine is in it, because they go by factory figures for power and use the VIN for the engine that's supposed to be in it. So changing the engine won't do anything in the eyes of the law. Buy a non-turbo and non-import to drive as a daily and buy a turbo project to work on. Even if you get an import you can legally drive on your Provisional license, the scrutiny you would face from the boys in blue would make it extremely hard not to accumulate more than four demerit points and lose your license.

They do in Queensland. Whether they pin you for excess noise, smoke, acceleration or reckless driving, they will find an offence for it. I mean it's not exactly practical to be at 100km/h shifting into 3rd.
