Up for sale is my bros R32 gtst. Just finished servicing and fixing a few things these last few weeks. Finished it all and decided to give it a wash, thats when all hell broke loose. Just a few hours after, that massive storm that hit SEQ a few weeks ago decided to persuade a tree to fall on it, cracking the windscreen and hitting the roof. He doesnt have the funds at the moment to fix it, so he's just seeing if theres any interest in it as is. He is looking for around the $7,500 mark but is open to offers. He might strip it at a later date if theres no interest. It is still registered to June 2009. A quick question for you guys I took the cas off my bros r32 rb20det and stupid me forgot to mark it, Ive spun the belt around a few times and what not and now ive lost where it originally sat. I know ive got to use a timing light and get it to the correct degree but what im unsure of, unlike an r33 with a half moon key that can only go on one way, this is like a double hex star, can i put it in any slot then time it to 15 or does it have to line up a certain key I hope that made sense Thanks.

So would the Shockproof Light help the box get a bit quieter ? is it thicker than vxm80 (I can get this cheap so thats why I keep refering to it) because I was thinking if I've got too thinner oil in there it should quieten down with thicker oil ? I dont really give the car much stick, shift very smoothly etc so the box doesnt really get a workout so I'm just unsure if its worth putting Redline in, all im really after is something to get it less noisy as it is extremely noticeable. And also would the Nulon additive help noise, or is its only purpose to just help smoother shifts ? Thanks for your help

I've been reading through threads and also the "goods on oils" thread (which has awesome info btw) but I am unable to find an answer to my question. My gearbox (R33 Series II Manual, 97000kms) has ALOT of gear chatter (sounds like heatshields rattling) around 1 - 2k rpm but after that totally quiet also hard to shift in the mornings, I am fairly sure there is the wrong type of oil in there, and im looking for an oil that will hopefully rid my box of the chatter, and also help the shifts. I've heard that nissan recommend VXM 80. (also heard adding Nulon G70 additive to it), I've also heard conflicting stories about Redline, Motul etc - dont use in a syncro box, it will destroy your box etc. Basically Im wondering if any of you guys have had this problem and know what oil would best eliminate or atleast quite down the chatter/rattle and also help the cold shifts. Is it worth just getting the VXM 80 with the additive or better to use a more expensive oil ? Thanks

Hey guys just recently pulled out the injectors on my RB25. Was extremely gentle removing them, didnt loose any of the spacers etc, made sure I was gentle. I am getting them professionally cleaned soon. I took the caps off no dramas but I noticed that 1 or 2 of the injectors have some of the little tangs have broken off where the nozzles are. Just wondering if this this going to damage or change anything with the spray pattern or anything like that ? Or if they've been like this for a while and its damaged my motor in any way Thanks

Hey guys and girls got a few things lying around thought I might get rid of Front Mount Intercooler with piping - $120 including all pipes, various rubber connectors and clamps. Front mount has usual markings from use still in decent condition...pipes could do with a clean...Put stock cooler back on my car SOLD Stock J Pipe (from throttle body) - $10 Gutted Cat Converter - $10 Either HKS or GReddy copy (i think) BOV - $30 R32 GTR Inlet Manifold - $50 Has had black paint removed, ready for painting, no weird markings etc good condition Stock R33 Series II Injectors - $75 Unknown condition, came spare with my old car Stock R33 Series II ECU - $75 Also unknown condition, came spare R33 GTR Copy Wing - $110 Had on my gtst but removed as put stock wing back one...brake light wire clip broken off for some reason, pushed wires into clip to use...all LEDS working when removed. Thanks for the info guys much appreciated I just cant for the life of me figure out what made it go 10kms out unless when the moron that put the green light in dropped it or something. I'll give your idea a go when I get some time, few more things to do to the beast yet. But yeah the only reason I can see it being out of sync is if someone has bumped it or something. Thanks.

Hey guys ever since I've had the car the speedo has always been 10kms out....So if I was doing 100 it would read 90, if I was doing 110 it would say 100 and so on. I've got brand new standard size tyres, rims etc so its not that...It has recently had a digital speed/speed limit remover put on and that says the correct speed...So I know that the speed sensor is working, the ecu is sending the right signal (because the digital speedo one is spot on) so the only thing I can think of is the dash speedo is out (I dont want the digital one there once the cluster is working again)...Is there any way that I can take the needle off and fix it or do I need a new cluster ?? Also when the foglights come on there is a lil green light in the top left corner of the cluster that comes on, I dont think its standard, I took it out, Would that make any difference to the speedo reading, like taking power away from it or something ? But is it safe to take off the front housing ? are they specifically put on or something, or can they just be taken on and off as long as they're facing the right way when it goes back on ?

Yeah thats what I was thinking....Something like brake cleaner would be good because it dries pretty quickly but also i dont know what reaction (if any) it would have on the compressor fins since they are ceramic. Do you think it would be ok to use brake cleaner on all of the turbo fins etc ?

Hey guys just picked myself up a good condition used R33 Series II turbo I've cleaned the coolant galleries and flushed the oil gallery Just wondering if theres any safe way of cleaning the compressor fins and turbine fins ? I was thinking of spraying the exhaust fins with carby cleaner/brake cleaner but I was unsure of this. Also one more question I put oil into the top oil hole in the turbo and filled it and it didnt drain out the bottom ? does that mean there is a blockage or do they need the oil pressure to squeeze the oil through ? Would appreciate any advise. Thanks

Thanks for the info mate. When we got it home I got my brother to keep pouring water into the radiator and saw it come out behind the head onto the gearbox, I stuck my hand around the back and I could feel the hole where the water was coming out (turbo side of the head) Hopefully go get some plugs today and see what I can do, probably going to be a head off/engine out job.

Hey guys my brother was driving to work the other morning, all of a sudden bang steam/smoke everywhere, popped the hood found cooling flowing all over the top of the gearbox...Got it towed home, I had a look at it and found that the 2 welch plugs at the back of the head (on the passenger side) have fallen/rusted out. Just wondering if anyone knows the sizes of these so I can get new ones from repco or something. I dont have anything to measure the holes with, also had a quick search on here and couldnt find anything Thanks for your help.
