There is a lot of wiring you dont need too. Looking at mine on the weekend and once the hicas is removed there is only the fuel pump and tail lights that you need to the back, only about 10 wires i think. Less than half of what is there now anyway. Anyupdates on your one Dane?? Cheers Ross -
Thanks, I will try and make it Sunday but I doubt it. Im at AHG on Tues for the new EVO X test drive (yay me) thats going to be fun. Cheers Ross

It sits flat on boot and comes up a few cms only. very similar to the one on r33 drift style i think ? any ideas or help is great, ta do you mean this??

R32 Hicas Lock Bar Kit
Boss-zilla replied to jakez88's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Most kits are just 2 bolts and washes to block the holes, however i would get a small line made so that the fluid can circulate like normal or take out the complete system like i am. -

Bit of an update for those interested. Allthough the total cost has not been worked out yet (mainly how many hours of labour) i can get the wire for $2-$2.50 a meter depending on colour. I will also have two options for the loom either with existing plugs (cut the plug off the old loom and solder new wire onto it) or comletely new loom and plugs, the expensive one. I am possibily going to do this (or start) this month depending on work so i should have a total cost relativly soonish and i dont think at this stage it will not top the 1k mark (i hope). Also i have attached a spec sheet on the wire for interest sake. I will be using the 7 strand/0.2mm wire for my car and look at the weights. A 100m roll weighs only 410g teflonwire_rsPDF.pdf The spec's i have are for the 3.5A/6A 250V wire there is also a 500V wire but i think its over kill. I will also work out a group buy/deal for sau users. Cheers Ross -
They GTR clutch master has a booster on it i think so they arte different.

as chi said but also can not use OEM senders as they are different than the guage ones. Also if you need a hand installing them let me know.

Im also want one of these, i feel a group buy coming on.

Your Tips On Skyline Tarmac Driving
Boss-zilla replied to Tomek's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
Interesting thread. Will be good to see the difference between the skylines (32,33,34) but as always each driver will attack the course in their own way. So far i have not had time to get to the track but hope to change that soon. -

My car is not a daily so it does not matter if its sits in the shed apart for a while. So far this year its been drivable for less than a month. Best way to do the new loom is use your old one, remove all the un used wires then use that as a template for the new loom, that way you have all the correct lengths and you can make it out of the car. -
What gear box? If its the std one then the sender on the gb or motor in the cluster is stuffed. Try swoping these two parts with someone and se if it fixes the problem.

Painless Wiring Harnesses
Boss-zilla replied to phunky_monkey's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
From memory you are right its about 10kg saving using normal wire. So for example if a standed loom weight is 25kg, by removing all the crap it will be reduced to 10-15kg but if you make one out of the teflon it would be around 5-8kg. It has been something i have been thinking about for a while but i am very time poor at the moment because of work so i take ages to do anything. At this moment i am getting prices on the teflon wire from a company over here, hopefully wont to be too bad as ill buy all thier off-cuts (mind you most 'off-cuts' would be about 10m long). If i could get my hands on the complete loom i would be able to make something, hang on i know someone who has one *runs to the phone* -

Ill be weighing mine before and after to see the difference which will be interesting. I am thinking that once i have done mine i will start to sell pre-fab looms that remove all the crap, possible a plug and plag item but that wont be till the end of the year at this stage. I am happy to help anyone with these looms but for you at this stage i wont be in Victoria for more than a week at a time untill next year. Cheers Ross -

I have not had any experience with these guys but i am thinking of doing this to my track car. As i see it i have two options: - keep the standed looms but remove all un-used wires or - make a complete new loom out of teflon-coted wires (as i can get this very cheap) which saves about 80% in weight compared to the same amount in normal wire. I will look into it more once the car is striped completely for the cage and respray. Cheers Ross -
Opinions Wanted - Is This A Good Buy
Boss-zilla replied to NISMO's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
I think one possible problem will be the cage. Depending on the event (ie:CAMS) they may not let you past as it is not approved but i could be wrong. -
Look for the new vin engraved some where in the engine bay, usually the fire wall or strut tower. Mine only has the new vin engraved on the drivers side strut tower. Those compliance plates were introduced later on after your car was imported, there is alot of imports (most are r32's) with out that plate.
